I was really torn up about it, but this video helped me realize I don't need to put up with his crap and he wasn't treating me like he should have. You really opened my eyes, so thank you.
You know, it's funny that wives look down upon the girlfriends because a lot of them were a military girlfriend at one time. I know I got shit all the time from other wives and a lot of the guys in my now husbands unit. They always told him it would never work out, he shouldn't trust me, blah blah blah. Most of those guys have now been married AND divorced. It takes a strong woman to stand beside a military man. It doesn't matter if your a girlfriend, fiance, or wife...it's hard for all of us.

Your video really touched my heart, my boyfriend Brian is in the Military and I send him letters like crazy his family doesn't send him any from the sound of it so I make sure to send extra, anything to show him that I love and support him all the way and to show him he has someone to come home to, I draw him pictures send him pictures anything to show him that i really care and appreciate what he is doing, I'm so thankful for him he's been there for me now it's my turn to be there for him :)

Girlfriends are good but Tag Chasers are what I would say people need to look out for. (Im a female soldier and have seen this hurt soldiers multiple times)
My boyfriend is going to the navy soon. I wasn't sure about it at first..but I love him enough to stick by his side through thick and thin! He has talked about wanting to marry me. Awww, my fiance just left this morning to go underway (he's in the coast guard), and I really needed this. It was so hard to watch him leave this morning, but we started out as a long distance relationship so we know we can deal with being apart for a few months. my boyfriend is in the air force. i've stuck by him through everything. while he was in basic, i wrote him a letter EVERY single night telling him about my day and sent it out the next morning. i went to his graduation in san antonio, texas. he's had three visits home. i haven't seen him since february, but we're still going strong. he joined last august. this video amazed me, so much, thank you for those words of wisdom.<3

Well I just had a young girl crying because her sailor said there were no phones, internet or mail on his ship and she believed him and waited 6 months to find out it was a lie. 3 yrs is very very rare. My brother in law is a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy and was never gone that long anywhere. Some dude told me that I would ask to see the orders. Either that or he volunteered which means you have a problem.
When he went to boot camp he got a letter a day. 39 to be exact and I even now try to email him once a day... and i COMPLETELY agree that the military could care less about the ones left to behind but lets be honest, wives are definitely favored over gfs and fiances. They don't move us wherever he goes bc essentially gfs are looked as "disposable" but all in all, military SOs should be there to support one another not attack or cricitze or belittle. and ESPECIALLY not think they are better.
@Ineedanap1 I agree that ppl shouldnt go around moping all the time, but whether you are a wife fiance or gf, it hurts to have him away and we are all allowed to feel that pain. @loveshermarine Im a marine girlfriend who just finished enduring our first 7 month deployment and we were stronger than some of the married couples in his unit but we all had a support group for MEU he was on and alot of the wives put me down bcuz i was one of the few girlfriends on there it hurt. We were able to overcome this deployment and still goin strong just like any of the others. So thank you for saying you would never look down on a girlfriend and I wish we could be more involved

I'm an Air Force girlfriend and my Airman is getting sent away for 3 years to another country. Wives always attack me saying we most likely won't last because that's a long time and we're not married and all that stuff. Honestly I just tell them, I support him, i'm not leaving, I love him and my love for him is stronger than distance. I've been with him for almost 10 months. Being a wife of a Senior NCO, I know the soldiers that are married and cheating and I've been contacted by girls asking me why Spc, Sgt, Pvt John Doe hasn't contacted them after he came back from a deployment. Hate to tell them why. And I've had young girls crying at my door that they are pregnant or had a baby and he's disappeared. It's not all fun and games One girl was dating a soldier for 2 yrs in Germany, turns out he was engaged the whole time to a girl back in the States.
Ok I've been the army girlfriend more than once sense I come from a military family and now I'm an army wife thank you so much for this video in the army we call the fat wives which is over well 90 % of all military wives we call them army issued wives because there cows I weighed 100 pounds when I married my husband and still do after 3 kids and every wife hates me because I work out and have an amazing life so don't forget us few wives out there that are still hated by the lazy fat ones

Actually, I'm an Air force wife and I talk to these girlfriends all the time. I actually have them stay on base in my home at times while they fly in to visit their airman boyfriend who lives in the dorms...and seen them go from girlfriends, to engaged to my neighbor at times lol :-) Yeah they totally matter too. Dare you spouses to take some under your wing. Teach them to cook, encourage them, just be there for them - if they end up becoming an Air force wife or not :-) good video :-)
See its stories like this, that is the reason why I started making these videos for you ladies. You can't do stuff like that in the civilian world. The hardships of the military lifestyle should bond those who are involved, and I'm happy that stuff like what you did occurs because its not easy loving someone in the military, so you're going to need all the support and encouragement you can get. Troops need support but so do the ladies that love them.

I'm a girlfriend of a Marine, he just got out of bootcamp, and I cannot express the amount of hate I've received on tumblr. I ignore it as much as I can but sometimes what they say cuts deep. Sometimes, (some) wives feel like they're better and more mature than us girlfriends because of the ring on their finger, but most of the time I feel more mature than them AND I'M STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL. okay this is my experience with an army fiance...I met with her for lunch for the first time because I met her through facebook. It was last yr when I didnt know anyone. she was cool and everything but she straight up told me that she was just looking for friends to go to the club/bar and drink.....ehhh...I never hung out with her again because I saw her pics and saw that she was too loose in the club lol I didn't look down on her..but she showed that she didn't respect her man.
I am an Army wife myself. I started as an Army girlfriend, became an Army fiancee, and then Army wife. I don't understand why so many Army wives look down on the girlfriends. If anything, the girlfriends tend to have it harder. Especially when their Soldier deploys. They don't always get to be there to see them off. If anything happens to the Soldier during deployment, the girlfriend has to find out through his family, not directly from the military.

I agree with you about the wife being important while they are in the military but retirement is another story. I've seen several marriages break up once the 20yrs were over, including my husband's 1st Sgt's marriage. I asked what happened and he said " Oh we had nothing in common anymore" What? I'll be damned if I go through all this worry and being alone to be cast aside like an old shoe after 20yrs. Yeah the 1st Sgt married a younger version of his wife,lol.
I don't hate on girlfriends but I do hate tag chasers. Those are the ones that will screw anything in a uniform, married or not. They are in love with the military not the man. I'm a stay at home older mom with my son. You know why I don't work now but I did with my daughters? My girls were molested by their babysitter, so called friends that lived in church.

So glad you made this video. I just had a wife bashing on girlfriends yesterday, which bugged the crap out of me, since I've been with my boyfriend longer that she's been with her husband. I was good friends with a circle of wives and one girlfriend during cruise. Guess who still kept contact after cruise was over? The girlfriend. Her guy even dumped her and she is one of my best friends to this day. I had one wife not give me the time of day until we were married even though we had a son, I was with my husband for 6 years when we got married, she knew her husband for a total of 7 months. Soon as we were married she wanted to be my best friend. Those wives aren't worth your time.
I've actually been with my boyfriend for 3 years. thats when he said he was joining the marine corps. he's graduating next month, and we'll also celebrate our 4th anniversary. I AM VERY IMPORTANT in this Marine's life and I KNOW IT. some military spouses just don't remember where they came from.

I'm a military wife for over 28yrs and I will tell you one thing that annoys me about some females is referring to their men as soldiers in every sentence. My soldier boyfriend just called.I love my soldier boyfriend.My soldier boyfriend is the best. Ok we get it, you're dating a soldier. Is that the only reason you are dating him? You don't hear girls saying my plumber boyfriend just called. My mailman boyfriend is the best. STOP IT!

I'm an air force girlfriend and my airman is in tech school. we have been having a hard time since he got into tech school in August. We don't talk much but I know he is busy so I understand. Anyways, we decided to take a break and it has been killing me! But I still text him every day, even when I know he can't reply, just so he knows he still has my support. All my friends think I'm stupid to wait for him but I love him and I know what I'm doing is worth the wait. I LOVE THIS VIDEO THOUGH! <3

I'm an Army Girlfriend and I can tell you this guy has it right. It's gotta be the toughest job in the Army, just because as girlfriends, we don't always have the same rights as wives. I'm going through a really tough time with my "friend" who's an Air Force wife who relentlessy stifles and provokes me like this, even when my boyfriend gets SHOT AT. Wives need to fix their fuckin' attitude, and girlfriends who are just starting out need to shape up and get used to this life

It's an attitude thing ladies. You want wives to stop looking at you that way? I'm an Army wife and I used to be one of the Army girlfriends that the wives looked down on I'd never done anything to these women and they were rude mean and sometime really cruel to me I have a full time job and take care of the entire house and did so when I was a girlfriend too so it wasnt like I was after his money Now when there is a new Army girlfriend I invite her over for movies and dinner or just hanging out cause I know how much it sucks to have the rest of them against you

I started out as a marine girlfriend.. and I stood by my man's side thru boot camp and deployment and everything in between.. and going thru a deployment being just a girlfriend.. Omg one of the hardest things.. I would never look down on someone being a girlfriend, they r important to.. and I think they should be able to be more involved. My opinion..

@loveshermarine Im a marine girlfriend who just finished enduring our first 7 month deployment and we were stronger than some of the married couples in his unit but we all had a support group for MEU he was on and alot of the wives put me down bcuz i was one of the few girlfriends on there it hurt. We were able to overcome this deployment and still goin strong just like any of the others. So thank you for saying you would never look down on a girlfriend and I wish we could be more involved

I'm an Air Force girlfriend and my Airman is getting sent away for 3 years to another country. Wives always attack me saying we most likely won't last because that's a long time and we're not married and all that stuff. Honestly I just tell them, I support him, i'm not leaving, I love him and my love for him is stronger than distance. I've been with him for almost 10 months. We're talking about getting married in about 3-4 years.

Being a wife of a Senior NCO, I know the soldiers that are married and cheating and I've been contacted by girls asking me why Spc, Sgt, Pvt John Doe hasn't contacted them after he came back from a deployment. Hate to tell them why. And I've had young girls crying at my door that they are pregnant or had a baby and he's disappeared. It's not all fun and games One girl was dating a soldier for 2 yrs in Germany, turns out he was engaged the whole time to a girl back in the States.

Ok I've been the army girlfriend more than once sense I come from a military family and now I'm an army wife thank you so much for this video in the army we call the fat wives which is over well 90 % of all military wives we call them army issued wives because there cows I weighed 100 pounds when I married my husband and still do after 3 kids and every wife hates me because I work out and have an amazing life so don't forget us few wives out there that are still hated by the lazy fat ones

LOVE this video...I have been engaged to a Marine for 9 months and we are getting married when he returns from Afghanistan but I never have and never will look down on girlfriends-after all, I was a girlfriend at one point. I too have gotten talked down to, for being 'only' engaged. But I know in my own heart, I've been here before the Marine Corps and I'll be here after! Stay strong ladies <3

Actually, I'm an Air force wife and I talk to these girlfriends all the time. I actually have them stay on base in my home at times while they fly in to visit their airman boyfriend who lives in the dorms...and seen them go from girlfriends, to engaged to my neighbor at times lol :-) Yeah they totally matter too. Dare you spouses to take some under your wing. Teach them to cook, encourage them, just be there for them - if they end up becoming an Air force wife or not :-) good video :-)

See its stories like this, that is the reason why I started making these videos for you ladies. You can't do stuff like that in the civilian world. The hardships of the military lifestyle should bond those who are involved, and I'm happy that stuff like what you did occurs because its not easy loving someone in the military, so you're going to need all the support and encouragement you can get. Troops need support but so do the ladies that love them.

I will soon be an Army girlfriend and it scared me. The thought of him being in the middle of danger and being gone for so long made me almost refuse to let him go. But I need to be supportive because this is what he wants to do. Your video helped a lot because now I know that we both have to be strong for each other, but mostly I will have to be strong for him. i have respect for the girlfriends. they dont get to move with them.. and if they do its not paid for. i must say, is as a military wife i DO NOT like tag chaisers.. there is a difference between a wife/fiancee/girlfriend and a tag chaiser.... girlfriends love the man, not the title.

I am a proud USMC girlfriend and I cannot say thank you so much for your videos. This military world is still so new to me and all too often I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I feel like my daily life/problems are so trivial compared to what he does everyday, but I didn't realize it keeps him connected to home. That was a big thing for me. Keep the amazing videos coming!

I'm a girlfriend of a Marine, he just got out of bootcamp, and I cannot express the amount of hate I've received on tumblr. I ignore it as much as I can but sometimes what they say cuts deep. Sometimes, (some) wives feel like they're better and more mature than us girlfriends because of the ring on their finger, but most of the time I feel more mature than them AND I'M STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL. This video seriously made my day.

okay this is my experience with an army fiance...I met with her for lunch for the first time because I met her through facebook. It was last yr when I didnt know anyone. she was cool and everything but she straight up told me that she was just looking for friends to go to the club/bar and drink.....ehhh...I never hung out with her again because I saw her pics and saw that she was too loose in the club lol I didn't look down on her..but she showed that she didn't respect her man.

I am an Army wife myself. I started as an Army girlfriend, became an Army fiancee, and then Army wife. I don't understand why so many Army wives look down on the girlfriends. If anything, the girlfriends tend to have it harder. Especially when their Soldier deploys. They don't always get to be there to see them off. If anything happens to the Soldier during deployment, the girlfriend has to find out through his family, not directly from the military.

I agree with you about the wife being important while they are in the military but retirement is another story. I've seen several marriages break up once the 20yrs were over, including my husband's 1st Sgt's marriage. I asked what happened and he said " Oh we had nothing in common anymore" What? I'll be damned if I go through all this worry and being alone to be cast aside like an old shoe after 20yrs. Yeah the 1st Sgt married a younger version of his wife,lol.

I don't hate on girlfriends but I do hate tag chasers. Those are the ones that will screw anything in a uniform, married or not. They are in love with the military not the man. I'm a stay at home older mom with my son. You know why I don't work now but I did with my daughters? My girls were molested by their babysitter, so called friends that lived in church.

So glad you made this video. I just had a wife bashing on girlfriends yesterday, which bugged the crap out of me, since I've been with my boyfriend longer that she's been with her husband. It's not like his MY fault he hasn't proposed yet, he just wants to wait until we can afford the wedding we want instead of a court-house wedding or relying on our parents to pay for everything.

I was good friends with a circle of wives and one girlfriend during cruise. Guess who still kept contact after cruise was over? The girlfriend. Her guy even dumped her and she is one of my best friends to this day. I had one wife not give me the time of day until we were married even though we had a son, I was with my husband for 6 years when we got married, she knew her husband for a total of 7 months. Soon as we were married she wanted to be my best friend. Those wives aren't worth your time.

I've actually been with my boyfriend for 3 years. thats when he said he was joining the marine corps. he's graduating next month, and we'll also celebrate our 4th anniversary. I AM VERY IMPORTANT in this Marine's life and I KNOW IT. some military spouses just don't remember where they came from.
