Love that tune and the way you play it is more than an "attempt", its sensational! Just got that book by Ken Perlman. There's a tune I think you would do a good job at and that's "Kitchen Girl. It's in a book called "Clawhammer Banjo" by Oak publications by Miles Krassen. Love to hear you do that! Great playing!
Another great tune . I like the slide in and out of minor in what I think as the A part . (I know you are doing it second but I hear the tune starting on that bit . Fun and thanks .. All the best , Guy
I'll have to try it that way--I've never been really happy with the order these parts fall into--and I change it around here and yonder. It's been so long since I first learned the tune, I may be playing it out of order! I'm not real happy with it yet--but it's still a fun tune to mess with. If you work it out the other way, be sure to post a video response.
I'd forgotten all about this tune--it was one of the first ones I learned--that Ken Perlman book was pretty inspiring. Funny--I often think my playing doesn't have enough oomph.

Another gem ! I listen to your playing and always think how heavy handed my playing is, especially when I turn the camera on ! Oh well .
