The four gospels talk of Jesus' teachings - but in the Old Testament it shows your god was a jealous, violent, selfish, egotistical, bully. Also, the gospels were written 15 - 50 years after Jesus was on the scene. They contradict each other and give different accounts. I find it hard to comprehend how you can believe all this?

Believing in a god is personal. You don't pray for a religion, when you pray, its between you and your God. God opens up to you the way you want god to be shown to you because he is love. Catholics honor Mary because Jesus did, we are following His example. Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ, raised Him, and was there while He was dying on the cross; to not honor this woman is illogical. Mary is NOT equal to God, she is a human being and is not to be worshipped, but Mary should be honored because of her unique role in salvation history.

@ComeHomeCatholics I would suggest you look up the catholic teaching (supported by JP II) of the Maryology theory. He was a HUGE supporter of this movement. So is the one you call "sister" angelica on EWTN. Had the CREATOR GOD not done us the favor of getting rid of JP II, its pretty sure it would have been cannon law at this point. and there is NO scripture to support someone that classifies himself as GOD ON EARTH... another dogma of catholicism.

These days I wonder if God listens to my prayers. I know he is but I live my life worried and scared that things won't get better. Money is tight, am using the food bank and self-employment hasn't panned out as well as I'd like. I didn't think things would get out of control as it has and I just don't know anymore.

These are days when I truly need to trust God to providing answers and maybe even a miracle for some issues I have. God I'm sure doesn't always provide answers right away but I know that God is listening and working behind the scenes.

This is what I'm starting to pray for. That I change into the person I need to be to receive the things I ask for. Ask and God gives but perhaps God doesn't give until we change enough....

how we hate to NOT run our life by our own standards is humanity's nature. yes, people react strongly against the idea of it. we tend to evaluate whether hell's appropriate based on our feelings or emotional offense to it. but since christians preaching about hell appear to be so desperately telling the truth (if not losing their marbles), would it hurt that we try set aside our feelings about hell & base our evaluation on whether it is morally just, not whether we like or dislike the concept?

Believing in a god is personal. You don't pray for a religion, when you pray, its between you and your God. God opens up to you the way you want god to be shown to you because he is love. God doesn't have to resemble the way you were taught to believe because either way, God is there to listen, not to oppose those who gets his image wrong. Which is why, every religion is right even though they have their own interpretation of God, God is God and nothing else.

The Lord's Prayer is always revered by Muslims as another Fathiha taught by Apostle Isa(Jesus)Pbuh. The Bible itself contains so much of valubles which muslims also accept in their daily life. I use the Lord Prayer but its not written down in the common book of Muslim prayers but its still a important prayer. The Lord's Prayer is akin and similar in terms of usage and explaination to the Muslims first verses used in Prayers.
Please do not state that all Muslims are ignorant - i am not one of them as i believe in the Lord's Prayers and in the Muslim's way of Prayers.

God is a creator and as such loves all his creation. Humans are created and we occupy a place of favour in God's love, we are His children because He didn't make puppets but individuals who bare His image(genesis) and with free will. We are more than ever His children when we know Jesus Christ who reunited us to God.
Of course God is not a biological father nor we are super beings!
