  • What if an earthquake strikes your pantry? Only people with the Holy Ghost will escape.

  • i love ur vids. and the other day i tried the applesauce cake and omg.... the kids loved.... and i mean loved it... i now have a request for the cake on sunday dinner family night.... i also tried the same rec. w/canned pumpkin instead of applesauce and it also turned out great.. thank u for ur vids and god bless

  • You've made me rather hungry and itching to try this out, but you've also made me think about preparing for any possible emergency/disaster that could happen. Thank you. I didn't realise until I watched this video just how necessary the need for and ability to make substantial meals from freeze-dried/canned foods were in the event of an emergency.

  • Yummy Yummy Good for your tummy!!

  • That was a nice looking recipe but, if a natural disaster struck and you were without power any kind of food that had to be backed or boiled would be useless. Storing up food is fine but having a means to prepare that food is also important. So having a gas grill or gas powered camping stoves would also be important. Having a couple of large tents could also come in handy as well as stores of water and medical supplies.

  • @wayne1955 @wayne1955 I was addressing how to make a meal from pantry staples and shelf stable product. I cannot possibly address the massive amount of supplies that you should have in the event of a real emergency. Everyone should know how to make something delicious out of their pantry and should have the provisions to do so. This is merely a suggestion. I notice you don't have any uploads. Make one and show us how you would prepare. We would all like to see that.

  • @atticus9799 I don't have a web cam/video camera and can't afford either. I am on disability social security and can barely afford internet service. I live in low income ghetto housing and after the bills are paid I am pretty much broke. :-(

  • Thank you....very nicely done! Looks so yummy.:) Just subscribed!

  • I cant wait to try this out tonight!

  • i tried this recipe tonight (- the powdered chz) and it was a HUGE hit with the family!! Thanks a bunch for posting this :) Love your channel :) I've started prepping a lil while back and love the peace of mind it brings. Rock on!!! :)

  • @craftywytch Thanks so much. I am always so flattered when people tell me they tried my recipes and they turned out good! In January I am going to start concentrating on the food storage aspect of things in prepper's pantry. The other night I made a tuna noodle skillet dinner much like a tuna helper entirely from my food storage. It turned out amazing and I will make that for a video soon. thanks for watching and commenting. Keep prepping! Noreen

  • looks like a good dish! I would add dehydrated broccoli, and onions to mine. My only option would be put it in my dutch oven, and cook it on my wood stove. Thanks for the good idea.

  • Thanks for this wonderful video you're doing everyone a great service.

  • I don't think you are thinking like a "black sheep" of the family. When the blackout happened back in '03, people were plunged into darkness and it was a short glimpse into a national emergency situation and I thought: how much gas is left in my car in case I have to go to the hospital? do I have candles? bottled water? enough medicine? will someone come rob us because the cops are busy elsewhere? what about garbage piling up? We do have a generator then I thought will someone try to take that?

  • Looks delicious Noreen, and thanks for the tips!

  • Really enjoyed this one, I will look forward to exploring You channel

  • Noreen, may I suggest in this new series that you also look into other ways to prepare food as a back up as well. Like campfire cooking, grilling or my new favorite thing is dutch oven cooking. This is a method they used back in the days of trail riding. You can bake bread, boil, roast you can cooking anything in a outdoor dutch oven. Best wishes and keep up the great recipes.

  • Great recipe and idea's. I am doing the same thing you are doing with food and supplies. Another thing you may want to think or talk about are ways to prepare your meals. Maybe due to lack of electricity, like can I cook it on the grill, campfire, or my new thing is outdoor Dutch Oven cooking. You can cook, bake bread, boil, roast. It's how the cooked in the old west days.

Because we never know. Best wishes and keep up the great recipes and idea's

  • Your vid’s are simply lovely to watch. Please keep it up!

  • During WWII my parents had a pantry off the kitchen that was devoted to all sorts of food supplies. They bought seasonal items in bulk. Every year they canned vegetables, fruits, and made root beer. There was chart for rolling over and current use. Even after the war had long ended, they kept this system going into the 50's.

    Always better to be prepared!

  • fantastic! i have had a pantry since i married. hubby laid off 5 yrs ago, food storage ever since!

  • Great video. Remember to be creative about where to store your food storage. There will be several hiding places in your home to keep it all safe. Find those places and use them so other people who visit your home don't know about your storage unless you want them to know.

I build shelves in the back of my master closet for my sooner to use pantry items. I am just starting on my longer term stuff. Begun is half done.

  • Great idea!! Cant wait for the next recipe!!!

  • You're really smart for stocking up.

  • You're a nice woman, I'm not always crazy about your food choices but I like you, you're smart, you cook well, and I can tell you have a big heart, your husband and kids are lucky.

  • Great idea for a video series...keep up the great work!!!...Thanks*****

  • looks great......jush?...a new word...lol

  • Great idea Noreen, I love anything you fix!

  • Good stuff.

  • @JohnWoo Thanks!

  • how much powdered cheese and dehydrated potatoes do i need if not using the boxed kind? Thanks

  • @AnnieNM06 Well, I would guesstimate that for what is in the two packages I used, you could substitute 2 to 3 cups of the dehydrated potato slices and about 1/2 cup of the cheese powder, keep all the liquid measures the same though. I think this would be easy to replicate using the long term food storage items available from many of the outlets.

  • @atticus9799 Thanks for answering my question. I already have all that stuff in my LT food storage so that's why i asked. Thank you.

  • keep doing your thing.. at least you'll be prepared.. everyone is so ignorant to the fact that bad things cant happen to them.. the government doesn't give a fuck about anybody "slaves". they gotta bring the usa down to create the new world order. shit is about to change mutha fucka..lol

  • @andru7 Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Looks yummy

  • @CountryPines Thanks!

  • i agree with hubby cheese on the broccoli... !!!

Thanks for this wonderful series Noreen. :)

    -Jessica

  • @jujutubes He won't eat broccoli mostly unless its covered in something ; ) thanks for watching and commenting! Noreen

  • Noreen, I love the new series! More people need to stock their pantry and learn how to use what they stock. You're right, it's NOT crazy to prepare, in fact it's foolish not to. Anything can happen and you can't expect to be taken care of when it does. For any who didn't already know that, Katrina was a shocking lesson.

  • @TrailerParkTrish Thanks for the kind words! I have been trying to tell my parents that they need to put something back and they figure that 6 cans of chunky soup ought to do it. What can you do, at some point you have to only worry about yourself and your family and keep in mind that the people across the street don't have a clue and you are probably going to have to extend some kind of good will. It may only be a little, but it will be something. We need to get back to a simpler way.

  • @atticus9799 I understand your position. I'm in it myself. Those ignoring me now will come knocking when times get tough. I buy beans and rice, just to pass out. I'm drying and canning everything I can and setting back seed. I love my family, friends and neighbors and won't them away. If they'd just put back a few cans every week and help me can or work in the garden. I can only do so much alone.

  • I'm finding myself wanting to use the stuff I've not sealed up and leave the sealed stuff alone. lol. Being lazy. I know rotating inventory is very important so I won't do the lazy way...too often.

Yummy recipe. I wonder how it would taste with some dried veggies added.

  • @VivianRinSC The sealed stuff won't stay fresh forever, but if you start to incorporate more of them into every day eating, you will see that rotating is simple and you will be healthier for it! More grains and rice and veggies, little meat and dairy and we will all be on our way to better health. On your other comment, I think that some mixed freeze dried veggies would be good! Just add a bit more water to compensate for their hydration.

  • yummy :)

  • @tinsnanna Thanks!

  • thanks

this was very well thought out !

you make good points about WHY we would possibly need to do as you do !

I'm not crazy about canned ham(or spam either - too much of it as a kid)

BUT as u said IN A PINCH...

the only way i see this could be improved is with plenty of blk pepper & maybe some dried onion - but thats a personal problem of mine not every1 would agree.

want to see what u do with dried fruit-maybe a cobbler ?

would beef jerky be a good substitute?

  • @OzarkdArc Thank you for your comment! I agree completely, lots of black pepper and dried onion would be wonderful in this dish, as would any number of things. I don't know how beef jerky would be, but I think that some freeze dried ham or beef that has been reconstituted would be great or even some chicken either canned or freeze dried. I understand about the canned ham and spam. These are not my favs either, but they give protein and don't taste too bad. You need to be choosy. Noreen
