  • Was a Queen and still is!!!

  • shes soo young! jesus!

  • Bless her heart...She tried her best to blend her faith with values outside her faith.

Clearly she understood marriage as a union sanctioned by the Good Lord. With that kind of conviction, a divorce is a death, complete with mourning. The only thing worse...feeling a betrayal... a broken vow. Broken hearts can be measured in different ways.

  • DIVA

  • should make a movie about the life of whitney ... would be interesting

  • @luiggi182 yes for real I was soo sad that shje went on crack but the media is soo wicked they made it seem like fans were happy she fell you know but we werent we were just upset and its like we saw it coming too knew bobby brown was bad news none of her fans wanted her to marry him .. eventhough she a grown woman she responsible for her mistakes man she can sing though listening to I have nothing right now

  • SHE LOOKS LIKE KEKE PALMER I MEAN TRUE JACCSON

  • NONE IS PERFECT!!! stop speak about shit!!! WHITNEY HOUSTON STILL THE VOICE!!!!!!!

  • Seemed like she was putting on a front. Nobody really talks like that

  • @DaleCali- oh, give her a break. It's not that unusual to speak one way w/ a virtual stranger in a formal/semi-formal situation, & speak another way w/ your friends or close family. It's not always intentional- it can often be subconscious, an automatic reaction. There have been lots of times when I've found myself speaking more carefully & in a more "polished" way in various situations in public, & speaking in a more "relaxed" way @ home. Not intentional- it just happens.

  • I like this Whitney Houston...before Bobby Brown and his crack claws got into her life.

  • @jademm lol o plz.u can clearly tell she was being forced into being this whole classy lady type thing by her home which quite evidently formed some MENTAL issues thus turning her to drugs.Drugs is a personal ISSUE not someone FORCING u to do it.Usually wen ppl influence u,as persuading u to try it,u usually dont get hooked on it.my mom TRIED cocaine but becuz there were no underlying issues wit her,she didnt get addicted to it becuz she didnt need it to mask the pain.BB & Whitney had ISSUES

  • @jademm and they BOTH can tell u that. Both of them hand some mental/personal issues going on inside.& wit two ppl having that,it pretty much doesnt make things better but actually WORST.Dey both needed a strong partner to help them.

  • VERY Mature and intelligent at the age of 21. I know that Whitney Houston has gone through a lot, but no matter what she always be my favorite singer. Then there's Chaka Khan, Anita Baker and etc.

  • I'm white and I was a crack head ! Most of my friends are crack heads now ! I don't associate with them. My girl friend is black and she has been there for me when my family wasn't. I grew up middle class and most whites in my neighborhood have been doing all sorts of drugs all my childhood life yet they love to point the finger and critisize people from other racial backgrounds. Look in the mirro at yourselves White Demons !!!

  • Did she remember she was a lady when she was hitting that pipe? Was the pipe passed to her as well? She tries to act so classy but, that's just what it was an act.

  • @brajames1 this was years before she had anything to do with drugs.

It is well know that Bobby introduced her to that nastiness later on in her life after the got married. Here she is unspoiled by drugs and not yet globally successful or super rich. She is a normal young woman at the start of here career, so actually the Whitney we are seeing here is probably a lot more "real" than the woman we were seeing 10 years later, or even today.

  • Very cracky... i mean classy

  • @powerFamosa I am laughing so hard I can hardly breathe. Your comment is sooooo funny lol lol lol

  • Whitney was so young in this vid I mean young

  • i luv u whitney

  • what a softly spoken articulate young woman... i bet she looks back at this & sighs...

  • Whitney is still the same as she was when she was younger...yes the drugs did make her a bit more vulgar, but her speech and mannerisms are still the same....

  • Whitney Houston BC - before crack

  • Whitney was so cool back then, carried herself like a real intelligent woman.

  • YA THIS LADY SURE BECAME ONE OF THE WORLD BIGGEST AND MOST FAMOUS CRACK WHORES!!!!!

  • they could've went with that showing that picture of her and cissy

  • Her family carries a lot of elegance and class? She must have come from a different family! LOL!!

  • Man what happened to Whitney... Actually all black people used to speak like this before? Why did Ebonics or whatevever take over and dumbafy all the black folks? I love rap, sick of defending it!

  • @shomitb She married a hood rat. You eventually become who you surround yourself with. I personally could never see what she saw in him, but then again, it wasn't my decision to make. Not all black people are ignorant, just mostly the ones who listen to people like: Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Plies, 50 Cent ect, so in that case it would seem a good bit are huh?

  • I still get chills listening to her sings and she is soo flippin beautiful aaahhh

  • Comment removed

  • Wow she looks really different now after all the drugs......

  • Holy f*ck, what a WANKER! I had no idea what a pretentious f*ckwit Whitney was.

  • @Cotdail wow, plz stfu you sound so ignorant and idiotic. Stupid ppl.

  • we are sophisticated women from a sophisticated family and we become ladies.

    Lady + Bobby Brown.

  • Her voice was so young here.

  • Bobbi Kristina looks like her here

  • Whatta bitch! Talking like she's British!

  • @strawberrybounce2 so bc she has an educated sophistication in the way she articulates herself, shes out of her place? clearly youre suggesting that a black cant sound as smart as a white. now pull out ur head from you know where and actually get acquainted with some Africans. Many many many are educated.

  • She was sooo beautiful!! <33

  • She was my favorite singer in the 1980's and early 90's. I love Whitney.

  • Many black women go for criminal-bad men---thats wat they like...thats wat i experianced when i lived in A frica---people like Tina Turner an Whitney--they know at the start, the type of man they are mixing wid----also the Obama:s, have bleached their skin-too....for me its a stupid fashion---coz im a white guy who likes black women....merry christmas...ya-all...

  • @novembernights1 The Obamas do not have bleached skin...lol.

  • shes so graceful...i love it :)

  • Guys whats done is done whitney made mistakes just like the rest of us yes it cost her, her voice but it just goes to show thats shes only human just like everybody else at least we know she isnt a sell out and didnt turn the illuminati to sell records which seems to be a new trend in todays music industry Dont think people will be happy until she does a billie holiday on everbody and ODs and then when she dies people will like OMG whitney we luv and whitney oh such a rare talent

  • @shortstuf1991 --no,thats only because the holders of the rights to her music will glorify her image and profit from her in whatever way they can,,,,but un the mean time, those people are rightfully staying clear of her.

  • @blunted15 You have a point i for one will not be very impress if whitney joins the illumunati

  • @shortstuf1991 hahaha, right. aren't we all so fickle?

  • @HabitualLover what do you mean by that ?

  • Its fun to see how black, african-american actresses/singers are when they're just about to get famous. After some years their skin tone is a lighter cause they can afford bleaching themselves... another example is beyonce....or tyra banks. and there are more. and no its not a racist comment!

  • @4eternityy It could just be make up. Beyonce and Tyra were always light skin chicks

  • @liacashmere58 Thats not true.. Tyra has been very dark skinned, if you look at some videos or even movies of her, when she just started to get famous and now, theres a big difference on her skin tone.... Beyonce has too although she was never as dark as tyra, but there is a difference on beyonce when she was much younger and now..

  • @4eternityy I still don't think it's bleach. I think it's make up. Sometimes their dark brown some times their light brown. Just like theres make up to make your nose look smaller (see Serena Williams) there's make up to make you look lighter or darker. I doubt their bleaching.

  • @liacashmere58 The reason I think it was bleachin is cause their body gets lighter too (its cause its a fact indians bleach their skin as they think its better to be lighter than dark which is ridiculous:-S they should be proud of their color).. But you're probably right.. some might get makeup on bodies too... but we wont know for sure :)

  • @4eternityy IT IS SAD THAT SOME BLACKS FEEL THAT HAVE TO BLEACH THEIR SKIN-THEY SHOULD BE PROUD OF WHO THEY ARE

  • @4eternityy DUh, this became a racist comment as soon as you assumed that "black, african-american" specifically, actresses and singers use their success to lighten their skin. WTH? If you'd've commented on all the media personalities that drastically alter their appearances (hair, skin, noses, boobs, waists, lips, chin-shape....everything!!), THEN that would not have been a racist comment. (BTW just saying it's not a racist comment isn't like a magic wand or anything, lol)

  • @HabitualLover You can say whatever you want, but i know i didnt mean it racist and my intentions were not racist.

  • there is a lot of women??? LMAO! ! ! ARE :)

  • @ShadeOfRuby actually "there is a lot" is correct. the verb "is" links to "a lot" (i.e. "one lot"), not to "women", so it makes sense to use the singular conjugation of "be" instead of the plural ("are"). it sounds weird, because "a lot [of]" functions like an adjective meaning roughly the same thing as "many", but it's really a singular noun.

*that being said*, i think it sounds weird to me too and i always say "there are a lot" without thinking about it. :)

  • cute!!!!!!!!!!

  • so very spoilt :( AND then she met Bobby AND now miserable

  • it was believable till she hooked up with bobby brown. All down hill from there. I hate to say i told ya so but i did.

  • i was believeable till she hooked up with bobby brown. All down hill from there. I hate to say i told ya so but i did.

  • See what being too reserved and bundled up will do to you?..

Soon as her ass seen the door w/ Bobby standing in it she was gone!!

    It's okay to be young..

    Have fun!

Stop trying to grow up so dam fast!

  • look at how she has grown :D

  • Wonders why soo many focus on her faults... like it really hurt them as fans more than she hurt herself...sheesh.. no one iz perfect...many rise...many fall.. its called LIFE.

  • amazing how pretty she was before bobby started punching her in the face....well that and smoking crack.

  • She's so pretty and almost vulnerable in her youthfulness here. She certainly got that sucessful career she was looking for, but as far as her personal life goes, I think she could have done much better for herself. I guess she's not as gifted when it comes to picking guys as she is with her singing or career choices. A real shame.

  • At least she is dedicated and NOT high

  • yes. you became a real lady.

  • It's fair as a real fan now to not except much from Whitney anymore and just hope for the best. Sadly, another year for Rock hall eligibility and only her hometown paper gets a brief mention for Whitney getting nominated. It will take many years, like Michael Jackson for fans to accept Whitney's songs as "golden oldies" rather than being cliches of an era; most of her hits are 15 to 25 years old now, so they're getting up there; a few more years and they'll be true, universal classics.

  • I can't believe this was 25 years ago! Boy have the times changed, for better and worse.

  • whitney know she look a hott lmhoooo but that's my fave singer!!! tho lol

  • she was beautiful!!!!

  • I am speechless....what a treasure,,.,.bobby brown...you are an asshole...

  • @experience271 ahahahaha

  • @experience271 IT ANNOYS ME THAT IN THE LATE 1960'S AND EARLY 70'S BLACKS SHOUTED I AM SOMEBODY AND SAY IT LOUD I AM BLACK AND PROUD AND A LOT OF THESE YOUNG RAPPERS DISGRACE OUR RACE WITH IGNORANCE AND STUPIDY MARTIN LUTHER KING AND MALCOLM X DID NOT PUT THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE SO THE FUTURE BLACK GENERATION COULD ACT LIKE A BUNCH OF ASSHOLES-IT IS SAD AND DISGRACEFUL

  • She would be a great model too!

  • sad story, One of the Greatest singers of all times, a woman with a true God given gift throw it all away on drugs and a loser. she let sin enter her life and it over came her. she may never have a chance to reclaim her fame and statues, but she still has a chance to get back ON her feet and be voice the the young girls on the importance of making the right choices and not taking the paths that she did.

  • smart of her to choose singing, she was the best in the world

  • Ooopsy daisy. At 1:52 the lady calls ger Britney...

  • You just don't get any cuter then she is here..forgot how beautiful she was back then..

  • lol

  • It's fun watching her in interviews... I'm starring at the screen like "What will she say next?!"

  • so sad to see how she used to be back then. a lot of ppl forgot about the fact she used to be sweet and classy, she actually was a lady for a time...so sad that her marriage destroyed her life.

  • @Cdb6es Last time I checked, Whitney Houston was still alive. And so long as she is alive restoration can come to her life. So take note that her life is not "destroyed".

  • @RothdeMan honestly she's almost 50, the music she's doing right now is crap, and she has lost her voice anyway...i'm just realistic, she did her time so as Mariah Carey, the old Whitney has gone, she'll never coming back.

  • @Cdb6es I agree

  • Whitney is still Class, even with her past, we all know that,

think of some one next to Whitney's class or better, and i bet u will not list a name. even if it was Oprah.

  • Obviously her whole intellectual progression into adulthood is quite high in her mind. She was living a lie when she married B Brown. She could never pull off being classy , or above anyone else in a comeback after her disaster with her marriage to Mr. Bobby Brown. Sad.

  • You have got to be kidding. She is a pig

  • @1959Tracey Why would you say that? Please respond.

  • @1959Tracey Fuck you.

  • her voice,so adorable..

  • Of course she was raised to be classy ... her mother and Dionne, incredible, greaceful, classy and awesomely talented. That voice was in her genes ... As for a fake accent, have any of you ever heard Dionne Warwick speak ... the definition of refined!

  • oh yeah, she's a sophisticated lady allright... "kiss ma ass"

  • What up with the fake ass accent?

  • @djronniebruno you see after see married bobby brown all of that good girl soft talking voice went down the drain

  • and thats exactly what led to her downfall. yea, ur right a woman that deep in love; just couldnt find her way back, i guess.

  • whitney houston is a beautifull woman... but hey have you ever met a model who could sing better than she looks....well she sings much better than she looks .. and she looks fantsastic... enough said

  • gimme a break. she has two legs & a mouth. she could have left him along ago; but chose not to. that's not on bobby. that's on her.

  • @xchethomasx That's true, but Whitney was something that most women aren't, "a real wife." She took her vows seriously; she did'nt break and run at the signs of trouble. Maybe she should have, but she is loyal.

  • It's so sad to know messed up things got years later. Damn that Bobby Brown! I remember a show she did for the soldiers from Desert Storm and she had mentioned "her Bobby". I remember thinking Bobby Brown? Is she crazy? That guys gonna ruin her life. I think he suceeded.

  • She was much blacker back then!

  • @Jotunspor Just to let you know that black skin does get darker when you spend time in the sun. Whitney and I have pretty much the same complexion and I can tell you in the winter my skin is really light but in the summer or if I'm vacationing in the islands my skin is at least two shades darker. So it's not that she was much blacker back then she was just tanned. I just thought you should know. ;)

  • @CMagnaye1 Awesome

  • She was a woman!!!!!

My gud she was a wonderful woman, I like this woman från this time , not now.

  • @Armando2007 agree with you

  • Leave her alone ! She's NOT arrogant in this interview. On the contrary ! She's already a REAL woman. I admire her. I really do. Concerning the rest of her life, who are you, jerks, to judge her ?

  • there's no doubt that she is an amazing talent but not a very smart and humble person, even from the beginning. she comes off very arrogant and conceited in this interview at such a young age. we all know the rest of the story......

  • She was ugggllllyyyyyy

  • Cocaine is a helluva drug.

  • You should never have forgotten the negatives Whitney

  • she's SEXYYY i am so IN LOVE !!

  • OK, ppl keep BLAMING BOBBY, for WHITNEY'S DOWNFALL.. but u have to remember SHE PURSUED HIM, EVEN ASKED HIM TO MARRY HER.. ALL AGAINST HER MOTHER'S WISHES!.. so she put herself in it

  • It is truly amazing to see what a low life piece of trash she has become. She had all the proper training, lineage, and upbringing, and she threw it all away to be the scumbag she is today. It is so sad, and we have all been robbed of what could have been. Clay

  • @ClayCarlos

she's not a low life piece of trash, it's her life and everybody makes mistakes

she has accomplished far more than anyone here through hard work and talent

it pisses me off that ppl tend to forget what stars did for them. they brought joy and entertainment but if they got problems one day because of the fame or because they are "just humans" they are "trash". but I know that it's the media that decides who's on top and who's "trash"-.-

  • @ClayCarlos what's worse she raised her poor daugther in that environment . she had no regard for her well being.. that's another reason she really is a scum bag.. 20 yrs of wallowing in filth and drug addiciton is more than a "mistake" especially when one has children dependent upon them. her daughter didn't deserve to have to endure her antics.

  • It sounds like she has an accent. (?)

  • Wow she looks like "Teresa Graves" of "Get Christie Love"

    circa 1975

  • her voice is very beautiful, not only singing of course but when she speaks as well

  • @nefty73

    Tru dat!

  • Damn, I remember in 1985 when I was 5 I thought she was old.

  • she was just so lovely back then,, very fresh and full of life, and so pretty, i think its tragic that she is now being critisized so much because shes fallen a bit by the wayside, everyone goes through rough times in thier lives and makes mistakes, i think people should stop being so judgemental, no-one is without fault, and she was and STILL is amazing!!! how many of us can achieve what she has?

  • absolutely amazing, can't believe how classy she was back then

  • until she met bobby lol

  • she waz ok den

  • but she seems quite affected. sadly.

  • Comment removed

  • funny how elegance & class was important in her family... and then fast forward to the life she led w/ bobby brown... and the reality show... sheesh! We nvr know wht lies ahead..

  • i know, it is scary huh?

  • @angelabrandy

    LMAO! So freakin' true!

  • @ZooBuddyDoo I know. And her aunt Dionne Warwick was arrested for carrying marijuana cigarettes inside her lipstick container at the Miami Airport. I mean we all have made mistakes but geesh be real about it.

  • @angelabrandy So what, because she carried herself with class that means she wasn't being real? Knowing how to carry herself and speak well does not mean she was fake, it just means she had good home training! Acting like a fool is not keeping it real. People like her ex behave that way because they don't know any better. Whitney was taught how to act like somebody and it took her far. We see what the hood calls "being real" got her - nowhere.

  • Comment removed

  • @lemons82 Who said anything about acting hood was "keeping it real".. ummm.. I said don't be hypocritical about it. I was just commenting on how it was funny how she said this, and then fast-forward to all the things that have manifest. Good home training didn't carry her far, it was her extraordinary talent. We all know that hollywood cld give two hoots about manners, they just wanna know if you can sell out arenas, and bring in profits.

  • @angelabrandy My point was carrying herself with respect or 'elegance & class' is not being hypocritical. It's just a sign of some good home training. What should she have acted like here? She was well spoken as she should've been. Maybe 'ironic' is what you meant.

  • @lemons82 Ok, you are clearing misreading what I'm saying. I nvr commented at all about how she was acting. I was commenting on what she was saying. I nvr said anything about how articulate, or classy she appeared here. I was just saying its ironic how she says her family is basically all about class and how you should carry yourself, but the things she became known for later in life. that's it. no big deal. lets move on w/ life.

  • @lemons82 Whitney is a good example of how something golden can become a waste.....oh my goodness...can u imagine whitney never doing drugs? Her voice is one in a million....no one...no one matches to it...

  • @experience271 WHITNEY CAN BOUNCE BACK AND AND RECLAIM HER ROLE AS A SUPER STAR SINGER-YOU DON'T LOSE YOUR GIFT IT JUST GET BURRIED

  • @angelabrandy DIONNE WARWICK IS NOT HER AUNT-SHE IS HER COUSIN

  • @curtisjones400 yeah typo

  • @angelabrandy Yes, we never do know what lies ahead, but that does not mean, that we can not hope for the best. And I know that, Whitney can continue on with her legacy...Just like anyone can. People have come from worse. Way worse...Being a Superstar don't mean she can't go on with the rest of her life...Maybe not singing...but being a lady.

  • @Ariegiggles Yeah, there's always hope but I must say, it looks dim. I hope she hasn't destroyed her voice, but it just doesn't seem to be coming back. A true American tragedy.

  • @angelabrandy I think I am just so happy she is off of the drugs and Bobby Brown's lap, that I could care less at her 'loss of voice'...Plenty of other talented singers still sing and it doesn't make the paper anyways. To have a voice like Whitney's at ANY point in your life is just....just...Mindblowing.

  • @Ariegiggles Well, now I was just responding to what you brought up.. when you said "her legacy". Singing is her legacy. But getting rid of the drugs, bobby brown..

of course that's good but her voice being gone is still sad. No one wld doubt that.

  • @angelabrandy She was also an amazing actress. I would rather hear whitney on a bad day than some sub par artist on a good day.

  • @Ariegiggles Well, I don't wanna hear Whitney on a bad day. B/c that's really sad. When she performed her comeback concert in NY for GMA it was so sad to see she was not able to finish her own song b/c she was out of breath and had lost her voice. She asked the audience to sing and then apologized to them. Altho she is a good actress, her legacy is singing. That's what she is most revered for.

  • @Ariegiggles I BELIEVE THAT WHITNEY'S FAMILY WANTED HER TO BE SOMETHING THAT SHE IS NOT-THEY PUT TO MUCH PRESSURE ON HER TO BE LADYLIKE INSTEAD OF JUST LETTING HER BE HERSELF-WHICH IN TURN SHE BECAME ATTRACTED TO BAD BOYS LIKE BOBBY BROWN

  • @curtisjones400 What's wrong with wanting your daughter to be lady like?

  • @dlrob315-nothing wrong with Whitneys mother wanting her to be lady like-but i believe that Whitney is who she is-just because your cousin is Dionne Warwick does not mean that you have to live up to that high image -i believe that deep down inside Whitney is just like Bobby Brown-you are who you are-

  • @angelabrandy She was in love. Love is a sneaky thing.

  • @Sergio022s Right you are love can be a sucka if u proceed w/out caution... I once heard someone say "baby be careful, testosterone can be a blindin' and powerful thang"

  • She was so cute when she was 21!

  • . . . I must say that at 21, she seems very mature. Very reserved and humbled.

  • @SexyProfess That's our Whitney.

  • @SexyProfess nothing is accidental. She would have never been able to pursue such an amazing career with just a good voice. She was also smart and mature enough to make good choices.

  • @ "Sergio" -- Yes, I agree. ;-)

  • @ "Mark" -- Why don't you shut the hell up, hun? People never cease to amaze me with their jaded and judgmental attitudes.

Whitney Houston is NOT the first person in the history of man-kind to have a substance abuse, or any other addiction problem. Get off her damned back. ---->>>>

  • @ "Jori" -- You don't know what she was like in "private time". Do we know the "dirtly little secrets you house in private time?

Those with sin need not cast the first stone.::winks::

  • You misunderstood me. I don't mean her secrets but her clothes, and I know what I'm talking about because there are so many pictures of that. Jeans with sneakers and a man-blouse or shirt are absolutely not lady-like!!! In her professional-time she is absolutely lady-like, a sex-symbol, but not in private-time.... (it's not that I'm accussing her of being a dyke, let her life the way she wants!)

  • like tht

  • naww she put da D in diva

  • I looove Whitney....but she looks stoned on that video, doesn't she?!?!

  • i dont know if she is stone, but in this video she looks tired and plain looking

  • yea, she def got better looking with age i think
