  • Probably the best tutorial I've ever watched here on youtube! Thanks.

  • extremely neat presentation. keep it up!

  • very detailed and informative! nice!!!!!

  • i bought this programme and it is epic! ...when you get it right... what it doesnt tell you is how hard it can be sometimes!

specially if you use different or high ISO's - and that when you use the detail method sure you get loads of detail but it takes time and practice to get used to reducing noise created both from photos (either RAW or JPEG) and noise created from upping luminesance and detail

its dead easy once you know how though ive only had it 4 days and got some awsome results BUY IT!

  • thank you very much..............

  • 'ditails' LOOOOOOOOOOL

  • I am a Truly a beginner, but i have one question on getting the different exposed shots. Which one do it change? the focal? the shutter speed? or ISO? please help. thank you.

  • @C2xEditor you have to change your shutterspeed because this has no visual effect on the image ecept the exposure. if you would change your apperture, you would change the depth of field. and just leave all settings the same and just expose differently with the shutterspeed.

    hope this helps ;)

  • @C2xEditor - if you have a DSLR you should use apature priority mode - then you can set the camera to automatically take 3 shots at once - either by using the timer (2 seconds, 10 seconds, or remote control) or take the same shot 3 times - difficult to explain but you can tell the camera to take 3 shots at different exposures for you at the same apature - simple! (...easy to say when you know how huh?)

  • Great tutorial, Thanks!

  • photomatix is better than ps?

  • @Icenstoiler it is easier with HDR in my opinion but i think you can do a lot more things to your photos in ps. ps is more expensive then photomatix so if your only into hdr take photomatix

  • thx mang

  • How can I reset the program to the default settings ?

  • You say 'detail' weird..

  • Do i have to get 3 pictures?

  • @The2009rockstar No.

The more exposures you use, the More detail you can get. Also, the more control you can have over the results.

Or if you shoot in RAW format you can generate a single image HDR.

  • @BrandonJFX So for Raw Files you can just take one picture then generate HDR?

  • @arnoldgd84 You can't get as much control as a 3/5/7 Shot. But yes, you can.

  • Anyone having problems performing HDR using Photomatix and the clouds are coming out in details that are washed out, too blue in color, grainy etc.? This seems to be a problem with clouds. I am not sure what is causing this effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • any1 got serial for Photomatix pro 4.0 ?plz mail me!!!thanx

  • Thank u so much :)

  • Can someone explain to me how you get the 3 different photos to begin with? do i have to take 3 photos of the same thing at different light levels?

  • @hazzaaa1 Like the first few seconds of the vid, you have to take 3 shots of different exposures [or different light levels if u like to call it @.@]~ usually u can use bracketing in most DSLR's~

  • @hazzaaa1 yes xD

  • Gracias por el tutorial !!!

  • Just in case anybody is reading this who is thinking about buying Photomatix...if you use the coupon code: RoyaltyFreeStock, you will get 15% off your order.

  • can someone tell me where i can download photomatix

  • or why dont you just take a single photo with exposure level 0 on your cam import it into a program such as i photo and duplicate it twice and change the photo to -2 and +2 to have a perfect alignment photo????

  • How come, when he takes 3 photos of varying exposure, the boat doesn't move? Everytime I attempt to do this, there will be changes in the photo, such as the trees swaying in the wind. Hence, when I combine the images, some areas are messed up. Anyone can help?

    Awaiting your helpful response,

    - CJ (thanks in advance)

  • he either uses a bracket feature on his camera to rapidly take three pictures at different exposures. or.... he took one photo and changed the exposures after in photoshop

  • Comment removed

  • @BIoodyldiot Hey, if you are shooting in RAW format, you can change the exposure of the image later on the computer, so just take one RAW photo and change the exposure of it to -2 and save as then to +2 and save as etc :) Then you will have three of the same photo, but it will be 3 different exposures, ready to be made into a HDR! :)

  • @BIoodyldiot Probably used exposure bracketing.

  • @BIoodyldiot you can also make one photo and then change exposures in photoshop!

  • Why differentiate for Windows? I have used Photomatix on both PC and Macs and they are the same other that Macs process at about double the speed.

  • excelent video..thanks.. :)

  • thanks a lot

  • can u do this on photoshop?

  • Yes but photomatix is much better for this sort of work.

  • Does it have to be in RAW for it to worK? or would JPEG also work? thanks.

  • It will work in any format

  • This is great software. Much better than the manual blending I used to do. The results can be stunning. It even can handle small things that are moving between exposures - not 100% but enough so that you may only need to do a little cleanup.

  • i drag the images and then click ok then it says the images are not the same size

  • good tut, but the way he says details is kind of annoying

  • Please help once i have processed i ge photomatix names all over my hdr HELP

  • you have to buy it to delete the photomatix on your pics...

  • Its called a watermark, to get rid of it you have to buy it

  • Or make your image so large that the watermark is in an unused area of the image... then just cut it out.

  • nice tutorial - i think raw in cs4 is better though with the new "brush" for editing raw

adobe is alot faster and better now than photomatix

  • @NicholasJBrown I prefer creating the HDR file in Photoshop but processing it in Photomatix.

  • thanx, this is very good
