  • You smile a lot! :) it makes my jaw hurt

  • You are just so amazingly inspiring to me! :) Thanks so much for making the videos you do.

  • i am about 75% raw and my top five foods would be green juice, bananas, avocados, grapes, and salad.

  • How much ginger root do you put in warm water?

  • Where's that guy with the numerical list of her picks? :P

  • i feel horrible watching this while drinking a soda lol but its soo interesting to me

  • @haexkae42008 high fructose corn syrup will eventually rot your teeth and esophagus. i recommend staying away from it if you value your life.

  • THANK YOU FOR THE POST, GREAT INFO AND A WONDERFUL WAY TO SHARE IT.....

  • You obviously don't have to work outside in the cold, else you would know that the Raw Food diet is not meant for living in the colder zones.

  • Green juice is a waste of money and fiber. Green smoothies are much better! You get ALL the fiber ALL the vitamins and ALL the minerals and All the enzymes. Plus they are more filling! I see no benefit of juicing over smoothies. Smoothies are quickly absorbed too! Also, how can you not eat fruit in the winter? You must not have very much energy! No wonder you look so tired.

  • @billj500

Not really Bill. Humans cannot digest the cellulose in greens. We are not herbivores like horses, cows, sheep, etc with multi-chambered stomachs to digest the cellulose. With green juices you can add the fiber to your garden/compost. With a green smoothie, all the fiber goes down the toilet. So actually, green smoothies are a waste in that regard. Smoothies are not as quickly absorbed as juice. Regardless...green smoothies are certainly a healthy alternative to dairy and sodas.

  • @jgfergus You don't need a multi-chambered stomach to digest cellulose in greens. You just need to liquify it in a vitamix blender (to make up for not having naturally strong jawbones like we used to) and have a healthy level of stomach acid (Which is normalized soon after changing your diet to incorporate greens). We share 99.7% to Chimpanzees. Look what they eat! If I made you a sandwich that was .3% peanut butter and 99.7 shit, what would you call that sandwich? We're chimps, eat like it!

  • I usually freeze blueberries when they are in season and I add a handful to my smoothies everyday or so. If I ever get a sugar craving I have an orange and after I eat it I no longer crave sugar where as if I have candy I still crave more.

I've actually found if I have any sugar treats now I get wicked anxiety!

  • forget about it.

  • store bought sprouts can have a lot of bacteria in them b/c of packaging.....smell them first!!!

  • I start the day with Vega!

  • Great video!! Thanks for making it.

  • juicing is very good. I sleep well at night and during the day I am energized amazingly/ I like beet juice with a little fresh pinapple or clementine. Juicing keeps the hunger pangs/pains away also

  • A Megan Medical Magazine recommended video.-Impower your health.

  • hello fellow radish user for no randomness of mere yum or radical result; as it may very well do more than a moment's flavor or thermal effect of its zing, but go right to the thyroid and metabolism which fits the solution time to keep it among choicest. it may be a derivative of iodine in soil as a root, rutabaga being one too on both counts, but this is very beneficial to the organ controlling so much thus a list of goods. i've leaves tips in earthy change left out, ez or size immerse tuber

  • @succulentesculent - What did you say?

  • how do you find the time to bye fresh vegetables and fruits every day?

  • what's in the green juice? And do you make it yourself?

  • Natasha your videos are inspiring me to return to veganism. I feel such a cheat being a veggie - even though I'm half raw.

One question - the oranges - I would have thought that they were o.k. in the season when grown locally (in order to be perfect), but not in minus 30 degree territory.

I agree with you about the sprouts - aren't they delish?

You are even more inspiring with those sprouts in your hair........lol

  • Meat and fats would be the number one "power" food in the winter. Animals seek out high fat foods in preparation for and to survive during the cold weather and so did our Paleolithic ancestors that lived in the northern hemisphere. Green juices? Are you joking? If humans were to adopt, on a global scale, a vegan diet, the end result would be a weaker, less robust species that would become extinct well before its time.

  • @auggiedoggy - Uhuh - so the ideal human looks like yer typical McDonalds customer?

Have your tried how good it feels to be raw-vegan?

Have you seen how this woman's skin is glowing?

Have you investigated animal suffering in the meat business?

Aren't we about to become extinct through our own 'successful species' hands?

  • @louiseiiid : No, that's not what I'm suggesting. Not sure why you'd suggest that it does. Raw veganism is not about health so much as it is religion. Of course all species eventually do become extinct. We are no exception.

  • @louiseiiid i am pretty sure her skin is not glowing, bioluminesing, etc, it is just because the sun is hitting her skin. retart

  • @louiseiiid Dont even bother with that chowder head. Zombies do what zombies do.

  • @auggiedoggy I've been a vegan for 6 years myself and i agree with auggiedoggy. A part of the reason why we migrated into colder climates and didn't go extinct was because of our ability to adapt to the colder weather and cook food and eat meat. We wouldn't have survived in colder climates where there was very sparse vegetation.

  • @auggiedoggy That is debatable. Land animals are unhealthy, study's show that cancer is directly effected by protiens from milk and by cooking meat. Fish is really only the safe food to eat raw and its way more healthy than land meat. the only true healthy meat on this planet is raw fish.

  • @Tinsletooth : Fish is generally the "meat" in my diet and its usually cooked but I do eat sushi and sashimi also.

  • What would the difference between blending greens and/or fruits with water in a blender (and drinking the pulp as well as the juice) as opposed to a juicer which extracts the fiber parts of the veggie/fruit and discards it, leaving just the juice to consume? What do these two ways of consuming impact the body comparatively?

I LOVE FRESH GINGER ROOT. It's fantastic for aches and pains when you have a flu.

  • To feel warm in the winter, what you need is foods high in fats. I think the green juice thing is more psychological. Putting in something that is spicy that might increase the metabolism might be what is causing you to feel warm, but its not just because its green juice. Eating ginger by itself will do the same thing and so is eating a piece of raw hot pepper. The increased metabolism will help burn energy and keep you warm. I usually go for raw nuts, avocado...etc. That is steady energy.

  • is a raw food diet really expensive? and also when you are done with making the juice do you save the pulp and use it in a recipe or dry it for a snack or something?

  • i have heard that once you start on a raw diet that your body starts to change, that is it goes through an awkward process, which also has to do with cleaning out your colon, is this true? did you go through something like this once you started a raw foods diet?

  • @domaro3 yes, there is a detox that rids your body of all the less than ideal things you ate/were exposed to. your urination and bowel movements will change, becoming more frequent . you may also experience other detox symptoms, i personally had sore throats in the morning because of excess sinus drainage. there are an insane amount of benefits though, increased energy for example.

  • Great energy. I like this video!

  • sprout in the hair near the end:P

this was a great video (as usual) i live in interior bc and even here i get really cold in the winter so those suggestions were great:)

  • I noticed with more greens in my diet the cold does not bother me as much.

Sprouting is a big thing for me and I have been increasing my consumption of them daily. Have two sprout jars going now.

The only odd ball thing I eat in the winter is Banana. I get up really early and drink one cup of hot and 1 cold water. Then I have a banana about an hour later.

Citrus and apples is great in the winter. I rarely touch them in the summer.

Thanks for the info on ginger.

  • I'm not a big orange fan, but this week, and last I have been craving citrus like crazy. Loading up on the oranges and my hubby made me some strawberry/lime slushies, yummy!

  • Great to hear the viewpoint from a fellow Canadian! I am in Western Canada and always felt it was a little off to eat alot of tropical fruit in winter. Thank you!

  • i agree with you about oranges. ever since its been cold here im craving oranges. i eat usually at least 3 a day. so yummmm. citrus cleanses the blood.

  • So Natasha, if you don't eat much fruit in the winter, what's your calorie intake like? Are you eating enough calories?

  • Love this! Thanks for sharing :)

  • That color looks really good on you

  • still commenting, lol but I just adore you so much here. Sprouts! YES!!! I think my top 5 winter survivals have been: avocados, sprouts, herbs and various greens - hard to pick just one but if I had to then parsley for the herbs and spinach for the greens... then for the last 2: fresh thai young coconut water and last but not least - persimmons!

  • 1. Okay so it's been 1 month late now and I still have to mail your package, I am so sorry. I really need to get my act together. it will come, I promise you this. 2. This is a great topic idea, I love it! I love that you start your day with fresh green juice. Radish and ginger are SURE to bring circulation, great choices! 3. Great points about citrus and hydration! Melons and citrus fruits really give you that water boost, total hydration. 4.How many meals do you eat a day, including smoothies?

  • i personally believe it is far wiser for someone who is new to raw to continue eating the way they currently eat. but they should start incorporating more and more organic* leafy greens, fruits and double the water intake!

*-if you can afford it, do it :)

  • Thanks Natasha.
