In my Texas home town there was abuse by teachers as well as by some parents. That of course was the 60's. It was swept under the rug and ignored. I later told one abuser FU** YOU! When he tried to play the tough guy role and asked me to repeat. I told him TO GO FU** HIMSELF. He left it alone and never again tried to back me down.

I think it's becouse it's been around for centuries actually it's gotton easier and easier on them, but I think it's mainly becouse some believe it to still be affective and if your not beating the shit out of your kids with a belt then sometimes it is but frankly society has changed to the point where you can call anything child abuse now. yes corporal punishment has been around for centuries even milliniums. and back then it was beatings not spankings talked about in the book of proverbs. with no regulation to how they were done. they were so brutal that the next step when that didnt work was to stone them to death. deut.21 18-21 i know that the way some spankings are done today doesnt qualify as abuse however the whole idea goes against 1 john 4:18 and also why is there this imaginary line for children and not for anyone else

I not only witnessed CP in UK schools in the 1980s Debbie, I received it in mine, as recently as 1987 if you please!

It taught me nothing biut lifelong contempt and loathing for the people who did it. If I saw them now I still would not be civil to them for what they did to me (two of them are still teaching and I know where they teach!); I am glad I keep away from them, because I would gladly give them a load of verbal!
