@dsjj251: The only way that you can attach credibility to what you have just said here is...if Jay-Z has acknowledged Biggie's bars in his song appropriately in the credits of his album. If he has, from an industry standpoint, that would not be considered as stealing; it would be considered as a form of sampling. If he has not, then IT IS considered as stealing. In the music industry, those rules appear to be standard, hence the numerous lawsuits that occur.

Nas stated that Jay wanted him to re-record his sample live for his 'Dead Presidents' track. Nas stated that he declined, saying that "he didn't know him like that" at that time.
