To begin with the lady singing the anthem is professional singer who's performed on Broadway in New York City, a former Miss Hawaii, and sang as featured singer for the Royal Hawaiian Band when this recording was made. Try look into 18th & 19th century music of the Kingdom of Prussia, compare harmonic development, compare with harmonic structures of Strauss, Haydn, even Mozart and see if you find similarities with Classic Royal Hawaiian music. Berger is the link. He was schooled under Johann Strauss Jr. in the Kingdom of Prussia. Kaiser Wilhelm I dispatched him to the Kindom of Hawaii upon the request of King Kamehameha V and classic Royal Hawaiian music took from there.

@steelersfanhawaii Try also watch the annual Kamehameha Schools choir competition, take note of the pieces they sing (all a capella) in particular their harmonic structures and progression. Take note if they have similar to works of Strauss, Mendelssohn, and Haydn. Berger worked with Kamehameha Schools and developed their music program, too.
