It wasn't that people were mistaking his stuff for Thomas Bangalter's. The whole Louis La Roche sideproject thing was never meant to be heard by the masses, it was just some personal songs by the artist Night Facilities. It was leaked, presumably by one of his friends, who then claimed it to be from Bangalter, possibly to generate hype. Night Facilities never intended for these songs to be heard, at least not yet, and so he came up with the Louis La Roche thing as a sideproject.
