@vontetzianos those are not 808 pick ups man. if you notice when he turns around there are NO battery ports for the pick-ups. they are supposed to look like 808's but theyre NOT EMG 808's
@HaloCustomGuitars thats very stupid, no offense. having the battery port in the control cavity, which you have to un-screw is a really bad design flaw. this would definitely suck to change batteries on the go, or right before a show unless you have a good amount of time.
@ACDCwarmachine None taken. Battery compartments are now a standard feature on new Halo instruments that are equipped with active electronics. On the other hand, some folks prefer to keep as much wood in their guitars as possible. Battery compartments require some wood to be removed from the guitar body, and as a result, we've had some customers request their batteries be installed in the control cavity!
@ACDCwarmachine In our experience, changing batteries on the go happens infrequently. But, when it does, you're absolutely right it would be more time consuming to unscrew the cavity plate. In any case, 9V battery life for EMG's is quite good... "If you left your guitar plugged in day and night, the battery should still last a month. Under normal playing conditions, you would probably be looking at changing the battery twice a year." Why can't they make laptop batteries do that?
I just thought it was weird that he mentioned it as if it was something special. Most of the guitars I've seen had one, it's like saying "look, this guitar has a bridge, which is pretty cool, ..."

@ACDCwarmachine The pickups are EMG-808's. The 9V battery is housed in the volume and tone control cavity.

@ACDCwarmachine or if you have a battery that decides to leak, then you can say hello to having to fork out money for new electronics

This guy was a really bad choice to demo this guitar. Kirk Hammet would have done a better job.
