i have 2Q......#1cant you drill a hole in a poolball make some threads and use it as a knob. #2 do you thank it would be to big to fit in you hand nicely or would it look trashey?
Looks great. I have an '11 V6 and I'm thinking of getting this. My 1 to 2 shift grinds sometimes when trying to shift quickly (Motortrend even experienced this), and 2 to 3 does sometimes as well when just trying to shift normally. Did you have any similar problems while yours was stock that have been reduced with this shifter?
what about the knob itself? what i mean is, hurst knobs are plastic, how do you think they are compared to billett knobs out there? i dont know how they feel as i never felt them to know if they are quality.-thanks
@mabbot16 thanks. i ordered a hurst shifter and there are other knobs out there that are made out of billiard resin. and hurst said theirs was plastic. and i wanted a "solid feel" when i shift. i was afraid that it wouldnt have a solid feel to it. but if you say it feels solid. sure does look good in white. classic.
In this video I have stock exhaust. If you check out my other videos you will see the (ARH) American Racing Header full system that I installed. If you like the stock sound you will flip over the ARH sound...
Yes, less effort and 44% shorter throw. I have had mine for two yeas now and still love everything about it. It really is a must have for any 5th Gen owner.
That's a girl's gearbox! A real gearbox you gotta actually take effort and shift inbetween gears and there's only 4 not 6. haha cool retro look though!
awsome... thats a short shift.. i cant believe it.. im personally favorable to longer shifts, but thats awsome.. ive been trying to find one to put into my caliber when i get a little money..
That’s the stock exhaust. I have upgraded to ARH full system. Check out my other vids for the new exhaust sound. Trust me, if you like the stock sound you going to flip over ARH sound.
ok not to be rude or anything, but where do you work you have a 2010 camaro im guessing a ss bc of the 6 speed, possibly the 6.0 liter. an average person cannot afford that kind of stuff
Don’t worry; I don’t think you are being rude… I do have a good paying job but my SS/RS with its 6.2 was only 35 G’s, they don’t cost as much as most people think. The shifter was $359. Going to school and hard work pay off… ;)
@SalvadoreanKOV yes when you learn how to drive a manual it is a lot funner to drive. and when it comes to shiting fast, redlining and racing...that's basically God givin ability...not everyone who can drive a straight can do that good...some can, some can't...every since I knew how to drive one I was alway a pretty good driver...not going to say the best but pretty good for a 14 year old...and I've gotten alot better in the past 13 years after owning 6 different stangs all 5 speeds...
I have 2010 ss rs and have just installed the hurt. I would have acked you this on the fourm but i couldnt find you. If you take you thumb and index finger and wiggle it does it have play in it in neutel or any gear. I just want to make sure mine isnt loseing for underneath. It also rattles around 3000 rpms?
Yep, there is some play and the rattle is normal as well. What your hearing is the gears resonating through the shifter. Sounds like your shifter is fine.
$379 with shipping, have seen them for less after I bought mine, as low as $300 but they are on back order. I think Summit has them for $350 something. The gauges are stock...
Thats awesome man, I thought the shifter was already really short on those things. GIves it a more old school look, but still compliments the new interior well.

@RAGEINGJOE
As long as you matched the threads to the shaft you would be just fine. As for the size, you would have to let me know. I good with the Hurst...
mabbot16 2 months ago
@RAGEINGJOE if you don't want to deal with a pool ball you can get an 8 ball shifter knob. i know they have some at jegs. (not trying to spam)

when in neutral does the shift sit centred or slightly towards the driver?..Here in australia we are on the opposite side
with the older hurst indy's we had to modify them because they sat towards the passenger not the driver. (because we are RHD)
St0n3y84 1 year ago
@St0n3y84
I would say that when the shifter is in neutral it’s position is dead center.

Do they make this for the automatic?
philritter21 1 year ago
@philritter21 no. It wouldnt work. because most autos need a button to get the car into a gear.
capasquarello 1 year ago
How does it feel downshifting (for torque), and then upshifting. ie - In 5th, down, to 4th, 3rd., rev up and then throw into 4th, back to 5th.
I find with the stock shifter, at high RPM, very difficult to shift into gear.
Will the Hurst shifter help with that?
calbert1999 1 year ago
@calbert1999
The down-shifting and up-shifting is outstanding... It’s very hard to miss a gear at any RPM. The Hurst is a great improvement over stock.
