The power in Keith's music was that he was REAL with people about his faith. It was exactly what he was going through. Not pious or showy...not about him recieving any recognition for it's musical "genius" or it's poetic value. Instead it was about glorifying God and allowing God's Spirit to minister to the people in whatever way He would want. He was an instrument of God; something we should all desire to be in whatever capacity God asks us to.
mindsaglowin...Although I agree with some of your statement, I want to point out that Jesus says that ONLY if we have faith like a child will we enter the kingdom of heaven. When we first start a relationship much of it is very experience based and unmature, and as it grows becomes more mature. The greatest commandement is to love God with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind and all our strength. All encompass a relationship with him and should be expressed.

I find the earlier Keith Green songs corny, trite, wholly experience-oriented and more characteristic of the pablum that "christian" groups put out nowadays. His later stuff is much more matured and biblical.
IN SHORT, THE MARK OF THE BEAST IS THE LOVE OF MONEY- SO EXPECT MORE BANKERS AND POLITICS TO BE PART OF THE DEAD AMERICANS- NOW IT ALSO INCLUDES THE FALSE PROPHET MOHAMED WHO HAS CURSED ISRAEL- TO THEM- I GIVE THEM THIS WARNING- ISLAM WILL WIPE OFF THE MAP ALONG THOSE CURSED WITH THE LOVE OF MONEY AROUND THE WORLD ON THAT GREAT AND TERRIBLE DAY OF THE LORD..CONSIDER YOURSELVES WARNED!
GATE 1 FOR SEX HOUSE @ SHEEP GATE @ BLOOD OF JESUS @ FORGIVENESS- NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY- WHY WOULD SOMEONE TRAINED @ THE HEALING GATE OF CHESTER AND BETSY KYLSTRA'S RESTORING THE FOUNDATIONS- THE HEALING HOUSE- BE OFFERING TO BECOME A BI-SEXUAL SO FREELY- THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE AS JACOB WRESTLED WITH GOD.. IF MY DREAM TO ALL GENTILES SAVED WAS TO BECOME A REALITY I HAD TO PROVE TO THE GAY AND BI-SEXUAL COMMUNITY THAT I LOVED THEM BEFORE THEY WOULD LISTEN FROM A BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN
I've always loved how he enunciates all the words so clearly so you can understand them, even in this open-air concert with probably not real good acoustics. His life and music still inspires me. If I feel down, I put on his music and then feel convicted to read and pray and worship etc. Such a blessing.
Thank you Keith Green for all you have done in such a short time. Thank you so much for listening to God, in a way I only wish I could. Thank you so much for giving me a chance in a world that would have other wise taken me, and tore me apart. I am alive today because of all you have done thank you so very much.
person changed my life forever, and was an integral part in so many ways, his ministry changed the way I thought. The way I think today is a direct result of his ministry. I still stand outside the church, and he gave me the courage to challenge them, I still see most Churches as Humanist with the idea that some how God and all things exist for Man, when the truth of Christianity is that God, and all things including Man exist for God. We deserve nothing, and God deserves everything.
He died when I was only a year old, I was at his Farewell concert, I think it was three crosses, the strange thing is it is the earliest memory I have, I remember being their, I remember the crowed in tears. I grew up with Keith Greens message, all my life he was like a father I never had. His music inspired me, and changed my life, when I was 16 I went to China on a missions trip with Teen Mania, I had no idea that I was standing on his ranch, you see this man who I never got to meet in
I got saved in "76" at a full Gospel businessmens fellowship. some of my friends went to the Jesus 77"gathering in East Rutherford,NJ ,. It was such a pure and powerful time when worship was so sincere, christians worshiped the Lord out of a sold out Love for him, not to please man or to preform, " Oh, Lord, bring us back to our first Love" did not follow keith's ministry at that time but Love his music and Pure Love for the Lord, whar an inspiration to be sold out for Jesus!
Listened to lots of great Christian music back in the 80s, but Keith Green, along with Larry Norman and, later, Rich Mullins, really helped form me as to what it means to be a Christian. Thanks for posting.
@yodirtngrimes Sign of the times. Just as in the days of Noah before the flood. People mocked Noah. They do the same thing in the 2000's. Mocking and blaspheming God. Something I never commonly saw in our western society and the world 20 years ago.
i don't like the message of go home if you don't want to accept Jesus. Perhaps, come talk to me after the show if you don't like Jesus would have been a better message.
@batmobile13 I am so glad Keith Green spoke boldly as he did. It was because of his approach to the message of Jesus Christ that hundreds were brought to Christ in my hometown. We heard so much watered down Gospel growing up, it didn't change any of our lives. Because of hisboldness, many of us finally understood what it meant to have a relationship with Christ. It was comments like the ones in this video that intrigued us to stay and listen and not be offended and leave. Forever changed!
Great passion at this peformance...I've seen many legendary performers....Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, The Stones.......This performance stands out in my mind in the same ways those shows do......But, ultimately,Keith directed us to above and within........It was in Pennsalvainia....Put on by Jim and Tammy and PTL....well, it was good anyway......:-) tr
This is simply amazing to watch! I never got to see Keith live. I was 8 when he died. My big brother got to see him and I have been jealous all these years. All the glory goes to God! Thank you Keith for sharing your gift!
This is amazing seeing this video! Thank you for this! I was here at this festival with my mom when I was 6 years old... He changed my life for the better. Nothing moved me more than his music and his message... I've always grieved his death... He and his son was gone too soon.....
Thanks for posting this. I went to these festivals in PA as an 8 and 9 year old (Jesus '76 and '77) that I can remember. It brings back memories. My parents were involved in the Jesus People movement in Hollywood CA (witnessing on the streets) and then we moved to Pitcairn PA and my dad started, The Vine, a Christian coffeehouse ministry and began a church, Living Waters Fellowship, to continue to minister to those that got saved from their street witnessing and from the coffeehouse.
This was a watershed moment for me in 1977. This was a Penn. festival sponsored by PTL....with Jim and Tammy headlining. You can't tell but the audience was disappointed because they were expecting a bigger star...Andre Crouch. Keith rallied the crowd into worship and then had everyone form small circles, talk to each other about Jesus and worship some more. He gave a long talk about idol worship...and Christian music. The Spirit rained and reigned and Keith was the instrument.
I was there as well. I was 19 and had met Keith & Melody at one of the food stands. His music changed my life...it was a pivotal point in my Christian life.
I gave my life to Jesus shortly before and went to this event as a newborn christian. Keith Greens ministry is what I remember most about that event, thank you for posting!!!
Keith Green you are still mininstring. God give us re-new r passtion for you and to minister to others.

he was such an amazing talent, but he would probably not want anyone to say so. he was also not "religious" but he was on fire.
