What an idiot, this is supposed to explain what salvage is...not just talk shit about it. Dont give advice with out backing up your claims. Salvage = value of car as is plus cost of repairs and parts, if it equals more then current market value the car is branded salvage. This happens alot with luxury cars when they get in an accident due to the high cos of parts and labor for these cars.

Salvage title can be anything from a total loss-wreck to a stolen vehicle!! Even if the door was silently damaged=salvage tile.Insurance companies salvage good cars and make them look bad. on the other hand lots of people wreck their car real bad but they do not report it to their insurance company. So even title cars can be messed up also.The best thing to do is get all cars checked by a mechanic or whomever is buying it.Dont look at the title but the condition of any car that you purchase.

FROGWASH! Example: $4000 in rear end damage on a new car would not make it salvage. On a 8 year old car it would. SAME DAMAGE but because of the car's cash value, a different title! Buying a salvage car is the same as buying ANY used car; as long as you have it inspected by a pro and pay the right price (40% less than a clean titled car) you are aok. Don't listen to this chubby clown.

"Salvage" has different meaning depending on the state. Most states have it where fixing the vehicle would cost more than the value it was before the accident.

However some are different such as in California where the law is vague and states if repairing is not economical. So in that case I have seen salvage and unrepairable vehicles that have never even been in an accident.

Nothing wrong with salvage titled cars. The problem is with damaged cars repaired by unskilled idiots, salvage or not. At least a salvage title has nothing to hide, you know the car has some type of loss history. There are plenty of cars without salvage titles that don't have their history disclosed but may have had serious damage.
