  • @HerdoRalden Sorry for the late reply. I've been kept from replying to your immature comments by something called a life. You should get one.

  • @HerdoRalden Sorry I was so bad at fixing up my page to meet your standards of femininity. Didn't realise you were the one who decides on those things.

  • @lokakuu1985 Well I am, and I want some fucking rainbows, bunny's, and pink on your page within the next 48 hours.

  • @HerdoRalden 1) I knew that, and 2) Did you bother to check out if I'm not a WOMAN before you replied, sweetheart?

  • @lokakuu1985 1) Yes I did, and 2) I must have been mistaken, because you page screams male

  • I love Talk Talk!! Wish they did a tour again...

  • já nao fazem musica como nos anos 80...ganda musica

  • Wow, their drummer is so cute!!

  • @lokakuu1985 Their drummer is a man... Lee David Harris.... GAYDAR READING'S PEAKED!

  • Damn, I was born too late to experience this cool music when it was new. :(

  • Currently Accepting Donations to Build a Time Machine Back to the 80's.

  • UGHH! Why God, why was I born 10 years too late??

  • version 2 is better...gotta love the guitar player with a full can of mousse sprayed into his hair...this is why i love the 80's

  • I stand corrected. I said that the other version of this vid is the one I first saw in some club in Chicago in 1984 w.some Brasilian girlfriend I had at the time. I was wrong - it was actually this one! Love it! Brings back all those memories of club Medusa I think it was called. or was is Smart Bar? anycase, 80s music was the best. I was in my 20s and those were the best years of my life! I agree w/MystikWizard!

  • stinkycricket `s got it spot on..............

  • Great great group!!!

  • 80's music knocks the shit out of anything in the charts these days, endless ballads, hiphop bullshit and no marks forgotten after a few weeks.

This is a class apart from anything we hear now. Them drums . . . .

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Classic track my fav by them!!

  • Love this song sooo much. But both vids are a study in 80's culture. Check the bass player's "Something About Mary" hair, the odd little pony on the drummer and the lead singer seems to have some creepy thing about keeping his hands in his pockets. Bless 'em all for their music, and for being brave enough to be different!

  • @DariaNPDX I dont think it's so much being different, these days especially where i live, indifference is the norm with all the brainwashed people who listen to Gangsta-Rap and are sell-outs, the early 80's in England especially was a great time for fashion expression and freedom, now those macho-men call you a faggot if you dont wear their shitty clothes!

  • Chicks didn't dig this song, so it was only half as popular as it could'a been.

  • @MrSwedjen I am a female who has always loved this song.

  • @SeparatriX59

You are one of the few, the proud, the brave. Good on ya'.

  • @MrSwedjen You are correct though. This song should have done far better than it did. I think it received nearly non-existent air-play here in the US. A few years later 'It's My Life' did far, far better; dance clubs here played it a lot. Probably because of the nice bass groove and lovely keyboards. But I have always liked 'Talk Talk' better.

  • I love videos from the 80s, the more they didn't make any sense, the better they were!

  • The problem is synthesizer manufacturers can no longer get the TTL chips that were used to build 80's synths. The only thing avaiable today is DSP crap. Musically, MOST bands out today (not all) are not even interesting enough to suck. They're just ...nothing.

  • Me too !

  • i freakin miss the 80s,less traffic,less people,less crime,no negative music.i loved the 80s and i wish i can go back.("beam me up scottie")

  • is he missing an eye? no joke

  • This video was hardly played on MTV in the 80's. It's the better of the two. Just goes to show that corporate executives are idiots.

  • I agree, MystikWizard. I was born in mid 60's and living in the 80's is simply the decade ever.

  • It seems Talk Talk was a little more creative in putting together Version 2 of this video as opposed to Version 1.

  • LOL this song is a very stupid, they boys with her hairs lol and the song is idiot

  • @YedroWWII Yedro, all you do is talk talk. :)

  • Really cool video....love all the white suits and all. 2nd best single from the UK released in '82...the only one better was "Temptation' by New Order.

  • This has nothing to do with this video but... We made a video of Bad Romance, our version. We didnt have much but we tried. We are trying to get this video to lady gaga so we were thinking if it was really popular somehow it will get to lady gaga. So please watch it, you can see it on my channel. Tell us what you think by writing comments. Lets get this video to lady gaga!!! Help!!!

  • che bellaaaaa!

  • <3 LOVE!

  • @MrRyan2582 LOVE LOVE LOVE

  • excellent, love all their stuff

  • This song is incredible!!!!

  • Great great tune, IMO. Saw these live and they really delivered.

  • Saw this on VH1CL the other night. Great song.

  • Lmao, classic

  • Is the drummer a chick, or a dude withy a pony?

  • @Comet368 Drummer is Lee Harris, a guy.

  • 80s...right out of a Miami Vice episode....pink Lacoste, rolled up sleeves, slip on shoes... RayBans, Ferrari, Blondes....yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...i need a Time Machine...

  • I miss the roaring 80s. I love this bands musuc from the early mid 80s. Can't say I liked some of there late 80s early 90s stuff. But they can't always stay the same either.

  • talk talk

    luv luv !!!

  • I think disabling embedding sucks...

  • Anyone know what the synth is in this vid?

  • @natfandaggy This reply is a bit late, I think the synth used may be an Oberheim, or possibly a Roland. I do know that those synths were used on Talk Talk's first album, hope this helps.

  • Kinda looks to me like Spandau Ballet ripped them off for their "True" video. Same sort of set up....attire.

  • i cant help to see a resemblance to some Duran Duran videos , does anyone know if it happens to be the same director/producer at that time?

  • It is from the same director,Russell Mulcahy.

  • Cool drum set!

  • Hmmm, some of the sound/feel of this first Talk Talk album is showing up in Lady Gaga's latest/best stuff (Bad Romance). Too bad Talk Talk were never comfortable with success/stardom the way Gaga evidently is.

  • 1:22 I like how that garbage can lid hits the floor and then floats away.

  • i saw these guys in asbury park NJ back in 82. they played this song: great band. agree: 80's were great even if at the time we didn;t realize it.

  • ...all you ever do to me is "mime mime!"

  • thank you so for the post, i loved them .never got to see them though.

but the music still brings the memories.again thank you so much, much love and respect.

  • There was absolutely nothing like growing up in the 80's. I am so grateful to be born in the late 70's to experience as much of the 80's as possible. You can't beat the Music, the TV shows, the movies, etc. from that Era.

I'd go back in a heartbeat if I could.

  • It may be cheesy by today's standards of and people who did not grow up in the Era, but certainly not to me. I'll tell you this much, I'll take 80's Music anyday over this crapfest of a Music Era. TV was far superior back then. Movies were far superior back then. Hell, the 80's had even more leeway with content ratings back then, compared to today. Today is way to PG-ish.

    To each their own.

  • Agree with you 100% my friend music today is fucking awful. I was a child during the 80's but it seemed that the world was a lot more happier back then. All music nowadays seems to be rushed songwriting with no thought going into any of the songs. I mean take lady ga ga wtf is that about, utter shite!!

  • so what year were you born in? perhaps the angry whining poor me 90s? sounds like you didnt have too much fun. If it was the seventies then i assume you had a disco sucks tee. brilliant. If it was the sixties then i assume you never got laid. maybe your one of those folks that cant have fun no matter what timeline. too serious mate. of course this is just my humble opinion, please dont get angry and take it out on your wife/sister. peace

  • Are you fucking kidding ? Obviously you were too ugly to get laid, the pussy was delicious , the cocaine was pure , the clubs were packed and life was a party ...

  • @MystikWizard ....And not only that but the 80's gave us the coolest time machine ever......The Delorean!

  • @MystikWizard YES... so would I... great post!

  • @MystikWizard Hell yeah! I was a 78 baby, and we definitely got to hear and see creativity at it's zenith! Kudos bud, I'd go right back with ya!

  • @MystikWizard The 80's were over far too soon for me, I did high school in the early 80's, then did 4 years in the Marines in California from 85 to 88.

Yes, the breakfast club more than any other movie, except maybe weekend at Bernies, defined the 80s, even mallrats wasn't number one.

    Solid Gold, three's company,

.............. I finally understand why people say youth is wasted on the young 8-)

  • I'm 50 and I lived through the new wave period. There was so much fantastic music and the bands were great. It's such a shame you don't hear a lot of these songs now.

  • Timeless......Croon righteous!

  • only now that i am living the song do i actually undersand it, even though it was always on the radio in high school.

  • All you do is talk talk!! Talk talk talk talk all you do is talk talk!! Love this song!

  • I was 6 yrs old when this video was new. I feel so old now.

  • C'mon 33 is not old, but i hear what your saying!!! I was 4 in '82 and i'm now 31!

  • Talk Talk! We'll be groovin' to this in our 60s!

  • How great is the piano at 1:29 ?

  • you know its funny, for some reason this guy appears to be tall as hell but around 2:07 when he is with the group, i realised his is a litle man.great tune anyways

  • I love the monkey

  • "You may not touch my Monkey"

    --Dieter from "Sprockets"

  • I remember seeing this in the 80's and it blew my mind. Luv the look...funny how it's in again.

  • Most of us Americans were too busy listening to Madonna, Journey or some other hideous crap to appreciate this. I don't quite get the adult Telletubies at 1:32 though.

  • Speak for yourself. I was listening to New Wave.

  • So was I, for the most part. But I remember finding it hard to avoid all of the other crap that was popular then, especially at work. It got worse after about '84 when mainstream acts adopted the worst cliches (3 or 4 ugly synthesizer noises that seemed to permeate everything) of new wave, leaving out everything that made it interesting.

  • madonna was great

  • AWESOME SONG!!!

  • No that's not true. Version 1 features the band performing in some cage with the record spinning in the beginning.

  • How many videos were made for this song? I have seen the 2 here, but I swear there was at least another version or 2 of this...

  • Brings back memories, what an era loved it.

  • Is the drummer a girl or a guy?

  • Guy.

  • Thanks. They only show him during those really quick clips. Plus, he has a "tail" hair cut! :D

  • His name is Lee Harris,as the years went by he grew his out,he became a full blown long hair, nothing wrong with that but a heck of a drummer.

  • Looks like Keith Moon's son.

  • Comment removed

  • No Offense or anything...but he sounds like he has a cold when he sings :) lol

    P.S. I LOVE THIS SONG

  • Thats what makes it great. It was part of the different or alternative era.

  • Love the piano

  • best song of the 80's

  • The dance where he keeps one foot on the floor- that is how we all danced in the 80's- what memories!!!

  • Awesome!!!!

  • Thanks for the upload. This song defined an era for me.

  • 1982 seems so far away now. Yet, the early 1980s had such a futuristic sci-fi feel. Up til the late 70s it was sort of hippie and then when the 90s came it was all grunge and rap. I also get a kick out of sitting in front of my wide screen LCD flat monitor watching this video thinking about how I would have felt 26 years ago if I knew I'd own a home computer in the future, cell phone, and other high tech divices in 2008 and watching a video from my childhood. Todays tech with early 80s sound.

  • you think this is futuristic? Listen to the MC5. Cybernetic Alien race. BELIEVE IT BABY.

  • You didn't have a home computer in 1982?

Anyway, I understand what you mean, even though 1984 (Orwell's vision) was 15 years or so late in arriving.

  • I think you just nailed it right on the head. Man, 26 years ago, when you say it like that. Convicted murderers don't even get 26 years. I'll be downloading this little gem for 99 cents happily. Everytime I hear a certain song from the 80's, powerful memories come flooding back.

  • Loved you comment. I was born in 82' and honestly I watch these videos and think living in 82' must've had more of a futuristic hope for the future than we have now.

  • Even though technology is far better today the 80s gave me the feeling that we were entering a futuristic world. Then the whole Grunge Rock, Rap, Hippie revival thing came in the 90s and it felt like moving backwards.

  • Thank you, I've been waiting for this upload forever.

  • The singer is still the reigning pocket pool champion. Step up, wanna-be's.

  • Yeah Obama & McSame! All you do to me is Talk Talk Talk Talk!!! I'm moving to Canada :)

  • Hey Hey Hey Hey Heyyyyyyy...... LoVe iT!

  • They make more than one video for distribution in different areas, sometimes there will be a general release video, then then have a different version for the US market. Remember as far as the record companies are concerned it's all about what will sell more records.

  • This was originally recorded by Mark Hollis's early punk band The Reaction, which sound remarkedly different.

It doesn't make sense to have two videos for the same song when some people don't even have the one. If you have the budget, so be it.
