it's possible to take somebodies dogtags in mid air: when ejecting from a jet flying up straight, you get are boosted in the direction the jet was flying. during your way up, you are able to fully use your weapons (including knife)

another way is to use the knife while in parachute mode (don't know if this counts as midair)

ps: i have achieved a knife kill in mid air once from exiting a yet

when you jump off a building to kill an enemy you need to open your parachute just before you hit them and it will work. At least it did for me. I think you should test it out :)

You can actually MAVavator yourself, if you position yourself right so you don't get flung off by physics. Just fly up higher than your target (a few feet higher), then hold forward while exiting the MAV and you'll move while exiting (and avoid falling to your death). Watch the minimap to make sure your character doesn't fall off (your arrow will fling away from the MAV, exit and deploy chute!).
