Seeing there are a few of these videos explaining the installation of these little motors where yours tells the manufacture’s name; what about a manufacture here in the US, for parts or whatever?
@TXCoindigger Hey, great bike. Mine is really similar to yours, i have that thumb choke too. I've been trying to figure out which is choke on and choke off. It's kind of a stupid question, but would you be able to tell me which position is choke on and which is choke off?
You can run light off the white wire from the engine. I used regular bike dynamo/generatir lights. The lights are on when the engine is running. I have made several of these and all have had lights that run from the white wire
Hi, thanks for the video, there were some good points about the chains link maybe being your problem, would also like to ask, what gear do you have the bike in when you try to start? Maybe if you have it in the high gear you would not have the problem?
I have only seen these on single speeds in my area, friend of mine built several without chain issues.
I broke a few chains before realizing I mounted the motor a little crooked. I was also able to fit the chain on tight enough, not needing the idler thing!! no problems and fun times.....
wish they would have give a longer chain and trying to figerout what chain they use be it 410 or 415 is a challeng I need 7 feet of chain but just have to order two to make one longer chain cant wait to get mine going.
the sprocket is on backwards i found no tensoiner is best for me like a motor cycle best so fare i tried tensioners deraillers for tensioners a bunch of work
@TheWezid Yep I put it on backwards to better align the motor with the back wheel. I got you on the tensioner you are right. Thanks for watching and I approved your video attachment. Great video of your wezid. Now maybe a few more folks will see it.
@dickard222 If the chain length is right you do not need a tensioner. Yes mine is still working ok. my engine has so much compression it is hard to start and the tensioner helps absorb the torque.
@dickard222 the easiest way to fix that chain problem it just to get rid of it just remove ur derailer screw the one in rear than just shorten ur motor drive chain and use the wheel to tighten it and the axle bolt will hold ur derailer and chain tight worked great on both my bikes
@choctawindian7473 Yes you can pedal. You have to pedal it up to about 5mph to get it started. The exhaust is designed to just clear the pedal. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the info. Makes perfect sense when you described it. Had some trouble seeing the whole assembly in the video.
If you find the tensioner won't stay in place in the future...my buddy grabbed some inner tube...wrapped it around the tube and bolted the tensioner into place. With it tight...never moved.
Got a Jag I put a 66cc on last year before the electrical system would allow it not to start...so I'm getting a Grubee at tax time.
Noticing your tensioner...what type of bolts/nuts did you use to get the tensioner to pivot back and forth as the chain moved on the sprocket? Having replaced everything on my Jag with heavier parts...have been looking for the same type of tensioner you are using. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
@phoobarnvaz123 I built the tensioner myself. I used a small sprocket from a chain guide and attached it to a piece of aluminum bar stock. iused the stock tensioner bracket to attach it to the fram of the bike. Then I used a spring from auto drum brakes to make it spring up and down. I believe I used 1/4 20 bolts double nutted as a pivot for the bar stock. Good luck with it.
I'm building a chainsaw power bike, i have a 69cc chainsaw i want to mount to it this bike i have and I'm also welding a sprocket about the same size as the one you have in the back on the chainsaw clutch and i want to use the bikes duraler and gears so that i can go faster. is that a good idea and do you think that it will work?
great innovation that tensioner and overall great job; i'm doin a bike and was hoping to find a video of someone actually aligning (truing) that rag joint clamshell sprocket. i've spent all day on it and nada; just not skilled enuf i reckon.
also watching a video of someone actually gettin it done right would be very helpful; it would also help by adding to my repertoire of curse words:-)
@KingdomUploader Sounds like you may be trying to get it too exact. A little wobble is inevidable. I am sure you will figure it out. Good luck and thanx for the comment.
Excellent video. You made it into my collection of bike installation video playlist. Your are a doing the world a great service! You have my loyalty! Thanks!
@gasmiser1 Hello gasmiser. The roller guide toward the front was made from a rubber chain guide I found in the gocart section of Northern Tool, I made the tension guide using a sprocket from a regular derailer. A standard chain derailer sprocket will work with the 415 chain. Finally I found the dual brake lever at a local shop in Webster Texas. I think you can get them online from the guys who sell the engines.
great video...just bought the same engine and cruiser. But the other guy is correct. sprocket is on backwards. That might help with the chain falling off. Ill let you know since i had to switch it myself already.
Yea thats right the chain is backwards, Turned it around on purpose to better align the chain. Couldnt get anymore adjustment out of the motor mounts so I turned it around. It helped. Good luck to you.
your sprocket is on back words shiney side goes to the inside of rime so the off set wont let the chain fall off need to cut find so chain does knot hit

great video.
Just out of curiousity you complained about the chain falling off.
I noticed that you had a lot of slack did you cut the chain and remove a couple links?
If you did not that is your problem.
the tensioner is only made to compensate a little not for a couple of links.
Cheers
