  • I have many groovetech mixes on MD and still regularly listen to them. It is such a shame that groovetech does not exist anymore.

Since years I am searching for the database. I cannot accept that it somehow should have evaporated into thin air. Somewhere should be someone that has gigs and gigs of great electronic music by some of the Top Djs of the late 90s and early 00s.

Also: I lost one of the best mixes: El Toro - Kitsch Mix

Anyone who has this CONTACT ME!!!!!!!

  • Real profiles and thousands of Russain women gettop5.info

  • Orson Bramleys Perverted Science, Andy Weatherall's RGC, Sherman & Curleys Electrocuted were the best shows. I had a streambox app to convert realplayer to mp3 on my 56k modem. I bought a bought some vinyl from them but like you said no tracklists of shows and rarely sold what Djs played. Freddy Fresh gave me a shout out. I have one or two sets in iTunes, check out Intergalactic.fm replaced CBS, Dutch station.

  • Check out how was groovetech at waybackmachine

  • Also, there is a groovetech fans group on facebook for those who are interested.

  • Thank you sir.. THANK YOU! I remember everything from the very humble beginnings (watching it in like 98-99 or so) and then the thursday teatime with the Orb!

  • what was the track name during your shoutout at the end ?

  • Groovetech was live at the peek of the music genres circa 97-99

I have this tape of 2x30 mins of non stop perfectly mixed DnB, that i captured from my soundcard. Alas the stream was via modem & a whole chunk of stream data was video .. so the sound is quite low fi .. but still listen-able!

The music is circa the time when FlyTronix had his album 'Archive' out. (1998) If only i knew someone who could help me identify the tracks on the tape.

I am in London & was tuned into Seatle.

    Peace

  • wow, that's awesome...do you have the music up somewhere like on a file share?

  • Hi,

I need to encode the audio into MP3.. which i should do so as to stop playing & fading the tape...

    I shall.. :-)

  • @eternalvibe

Sorry ive taken so long to reply... i overlooked your reply... I'm sure i can sort it, as i've managed to digitise the tape since my comment.

    I'll sort something

  • @xoio please share this! I'm doing the same with a Soulslinger set.

  • @Five5six sorry for the delay, thanks for sharing the memories!

  • @eternalvibe I have a Matrix drum and bass set I just found, just gotta put it to some video.

  • I miss groovetech more than anything.

I'd kill for archived sets. I still have a few mp3's of sets from the past.

  • GT sold some killer CD's on their own label...I have 3 or 4 and I still listen to them, 10 years after learning about it from one founder working at realnetworks.

  • yes, I loved groovetech... it was amazing! so sad that it is gone! I still miss it so much! : )

we definitely need another source like it!

  • I love everything that you're saying, and yes groovetech is def missed, I would love to be able to get ahold of there old mixes.

The only thing I dont want you to have the misconception about is that mellow/jazzy/liquid drum & bass DJ's were all inspired by Groovetech, because there has been tracks that have been porduced in the "liquid dnb" style as early as 1995 such as Pulp Fiction by Alec Reece, way before groovetech ever exsisted.

Great video though. Hopefully groovetech comes back.

  • definitely that style preceeded groovetech but i think the hospitial show & label had a LOT to do with it going to the next level...

  • @disciple21781 I'm trying to post as many mixes as I can.

  • someone has to have all of the mixes still, please share them somehow and keep groovetech alive in some way other than memories in my mind of the good old days

  • wow, groovetech was awesome while it lasted the store sucked but the live dj sets from seattle, san francisco, and london were incredible. after all these years, there's still nothing currently online that comes close to the experience of watching and listening to those sets. hopefully those sessions are archived somewhere waiting to get resurrected someday...

thanks eternalvibe for your youtube props to GT, that was a very cool moment for internet radio.

  • Groovetech was the best thing on the Internet. Does anyone know if there are any archived sets out there? Man I miss those days...

  • GT really an irreplaceable loss, years have passed but their sounds are still alive in my mind. THank you GT crew, anyone know how I could find these sets?

  • damn i still miss those days where GT was broadcasting unbelievable sets. I am looking for years now these sets. Thank GT crew so sad an irreplaceable loss.

  • groovetech was great. thanks to all who could make it happen. jesse rose on mondays. yes!

  • GrooveTech Radio was a awesome station. Fuck the RIAA for making these alligations.

I'm going to miss the house & prog :(

  • It was a very inspirational site and format. It will be missed. There is a desperate need for another one to inspire others.

    Solid Solid Respect from Canada.

  • a groovetechlistener from the Netherlands want to says RESPECT for the makers of one of the best radiostation's ever!!! PEACE!

  • Groovetech was the shit! I spent MANY countless hours watching/listening/chatting to so many awesome DJ's. It was very sad that first time I saw "404 error" when trying to access it. I started chatting with DJ Chloe Harris on Tuesday's, she even sent me her mixed CD in the mail - thanks again Chloe!

  • omg. I am still soooo sad that groovetech does not exist anymore. I had such cool mixes on tape and then mini disc, but I lost some of them now. But the music database must be still out there. it cant be just erased or put into a dark chamber and left there for good.

anyone know what happened to their database?
