Sweet Sweet galaxy was actually pretty easy. As long as you don't take risks, it's really easy. The ball levels were also easy. Again, don't take risks and you'll be fine. Also, don't kill the enemies. Most of them are on the edge of the level and killing them will cause you to fall.

honestly, the first super mario galaxy was cool, but that one was WAY too hard to get Luigi.. They should make it easy, but not TOO easy. I honestly think Nintendo is expecting only hardcore players to play these kind of games.. and the truth, I AM a advanced player, but these 3d mario games have just started. They cant expect you to know how to learn all this frustrating controls and movements and beat the whole game simple. New super mario bros wii was easy, but this? not so much.

The thing with Galaxy is that it's two games in one. The first game is the nu Mario: spherical platfroming where the camera is above and can therefore not be stuck behind objects, and where navigation does not rely on complex lateral exploration but only running around. This was to make it easier for new gamers and is commendably innovative. The other game was bringing classic 2d platforming into 3d, and I don't think that aspect was so polished, which is what I think SMG2 may improve.

Why does Sunshine get so much hate? I thought it was an awesome game and it felt very "Mario" to me. Now I think I want to do a 64, Sunshine, Galaxy, (and when it comes out) Galaxy 2 marathon.

Anyway, Galaxy wasn't hard, but it wasn't all that easy either. There were several levels where dying was the norm. One thing I noticed was that some of the longer levels (like where you need to collect like 100+ items) had unannounced checkpoints where you'd spawn after dying. Frustration defeated.

nice, but lots of flaws to that idea. To fight other sonic characters, you could use cpu's or live. Both of which would have to go to a third party console, which isn't good for sega. And a racing style format? Not like sonic drift. More like you race and attack the others accasionally? And I'm pretty sure there aren't power ups in sonic games besides chaos emeralds. But still, good idea.

You know aurush4 you have a point. Remember the first stage in mario 64 bomb-omb battlefield. the first star is defeating the boss. How many people did that first? I didn't, the one I did first was the one where you have to free the chain chomp. In mario galaxy you have to complete the stars in order, you can't freestyle within the stage (with the exception of the hidden star).

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love super mario galaxy, one of the best games on the wii. But your point is valid.

I'm that impressed by the vids of this game I can't tell. Though I bought my GC as a "Zelda Editition" (obligation), I had to buy SM Sunshine later on (knew that from the first time I saw it runnin' in a shop). While I was impressed of SMSS taking the label "3D" obviously serious (thinking about especially the mini-games...) - I can't tell how mad I'm driven by the shots and vids of THIS game.

It's because most developers mark off Wii as a PS2 with motion controls so they don't try very hard. Most of the lookers of the system come from Nintendo, like Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros. Sega somewhat does this as well. Like the 2 Wii exclusive Sonics. They look amazing, especially Black Knight. One of the reasons that people don't take the Wii's graphics seriously is because developers don't take the Wii's capabilities seriously.

i love the way the gravity is worked in to all the levels, even ones like the desert ones and the beach ones where its like 64 or sunshine, but with this space gravity twist. i love how it makes use of the wiimote on levels like bubble and ray surfing. and all the silver star things are fun. but the absolute best part of this game was the battle music during bowser fights. NO mario music has ever been so epic.
