  • greed does wonderful things to people amiright?

  • This is what Wall street has done and will continue to do unless we put a muzzle on them. Oh but wait, wait...Capitalism! Let fuckers lose their homes! Including me! Derp!

  • At 2:11. Best response ever said by an old geezer!!

  • This is the best REVENGE for a man to do for his unjustice.

  • WTC

  • Randolph and Mortimer Duke the best dressed bums in the world!!!! Imagine them showing up at a homeless shelter soup kitchen in those clothes. Hilarious revenge.

  • @sandrashort100

In the movie "Coming to America", Eddie Murphy's character, Prince Akeem, gave homeless Randolph and Mortimer Duke a lot of money when they were sitting outside a resteraunt.

  • 0:21 - 0:40 Dan and Eddie walk by the World Trade Center. WTC 1973-2001 RIP :(

  • Fear? That's the other guy's problem. I love that prep he gives to Eddie before they get in the building.

  • With Canada pulling out of the Kyoto Accord and China's credit bubble about to pop, I can see Jean Chretien and Paul Martin acting like Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy in this scene.

  • ANYONE NOTICE 0:29 "Inside this building kill or be killed" btw 2+9=11 9/11?

  • Does anyone know the song at the beginning? Unfortunately I have no idea...

  • @vuvuzela999 The Marriage of Figaro,

  • Check the Paramount fag hug when the market closes. Theres one in Fatal Attraction's bowling scene. Paramount is gaaaay.

  • Today they would just get a bailout followed by juicy bonuses!

  • wow they are unamused lol

  • 5 people are bookies

  • This gets even better when you know that Don Ameche hated swearing, and refused to do more than one take of "fuck him."

  • @Rmlohner didn't have a problem saying "nigger" though....

  • Know what you mean. The two old guys were a bit too convincing in their roles in this film.

  • @Rmlohner Looks like someone else remembered that about that line.

  • please....and the name of song that sing in theTrading Places - Final Scene ??

if you can..send me to my channel..

  • FUCK HIM!!

  • Thanks for this. Can someone upload the whole movie? I'm astounded at how much my hometown of PHL has changed so much in nearly 30 years, and I'm only 37.

  • @ncatina wasnt certain parts filmed in PHL? Im from across the river in NJ.

  • @2199 Yes, many shots of the film were done in Center City and North Philly, though I will need to see the movie again to possibly identify some of those areas.

  • @ncatina thnx....wasnt sure what parts were filmed there. Do you know any films that were filmed in south jersey like camden county or others?

  • @2199 I don't know of any films that were done in Jersey other than Lean On Me in Patterson & Trenton back in the late '80s.

  • The Dukes Lost $394 Million Dollars Over A $1.00 Bet.

    TURN THOSE MACHINES BACK ON!!!!!!!!!!!

    TURN THOSE MACHINES BACK ON!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 'BEEF JERKY TIME!"

  • Now there are computers, so why does anyone need to go to a building? Jason

  • @aiu7125

    more fun

  • The Koch brothers story.

  • @Tommya425 You mean the Hunt brothers story. The Hunt brothers attempted to corner the silver market in 1980 and couldn't pay a margin call of $100 million at the end of the day. They eventually went from being worth $5 billion in 1980 to less than $1 billion in 1988.

  • In real life, Winthrop and Valentine wouldn't have been allowed to just walk in off the streets and go into the trading pits.

Also, they would have put the brakes on trading if a stock started to fall in price that rapidly.

  • @DaveJ721 30 years ago the rules were different

  • I looooooove Dan Aykroyd :)

  • In order to sieze the assets to pay the bill, would those guys have to have put up their assets as security?

  • 2:10 best part

  • I was reading on Wiki that due to Ameches strong religious beliefs, he was uncomfortable with the swearing at the end. Had to be filmed in one take as he refused to do another. Legend.

  • Revenge is a dish best served frozen concentrate.

  • Losing $394 MILLION DOLLARS in one day?

    OUCH!!!!

  • Is this what is to come?

  • best comedy film

  • @msbackindadayz - Very true.

  • Ophelia and Coleman would also be charged for being accessories, and funding the acquisition of the stolen crop report...I would have thought (but hey, I love happy endings too, so what would I know?) :)

  • @uraniumdeath

I doubt they would be charged for that, there is no evidence pinning them to having the genuine crop report. And even if there was i doubt the charges would ever come up in the first place because the federal agent in charge of the crop report would deny the whole ordeal (if he didn't he would face a lengthy prison sentence). In the end it would just be the two dukes versus the two guys and the federal agent. Also the dukes would be implicating themselves in the process.

  • Happy 50th Birthday Eddie!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ROFL AT 2:05

  • 911 was an INSIDE j ob.

  • Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy are the best richiest guys ever.

  • I'm so happy these comments are untainted by you-know-what. Only three out of 1 million videos that hasn't been scorched by a flame war yet..

  • I love the look on the Dukes faces at 1.18 when they realise whats happened. The PERFECT revenge.

  • @stoic59 The look on their faces is how the protestors felt tonight in Madison, WI when they realized the bill was going to pass regardless of how long they stunk up the state capitol building by camping out in it.

  • "FUCK HIM"!!!!

    PMSL!!!!!!!!!!! :)

    2funny!

  • @MrBumpinuglieez Fun trivia: Don Ameche had a hard time delivering that line due to his religious beliefs, so he arrived on the set earlier, before the other actors. He refused to do a second take, and later apologised for swearing (even though it was in the script).

  • @MrBumpinuglieez I remember a story Don Ameche told regarding talking to the cast about that line. He only wanted to have to recite the line once, I guess because he felt a little bad about having to say it at all.

  • Koch BROTHERS?

  • @jorgedude888 I still have no clue of who they are, and I'm from WI.

  • Your brother...FUCK HIM!!! lol

  • Do anybody konw that song's name. I've tried to find it out, but...

  • those buildings look familiar

  • This was such a great movie! So funny yet so indicative of what is exactly going on today (only on a greater scale) There are real "puppet masters" out there and their playing with people's lives everyday through various "distractions" and it's killing the very fabric of this country. this movie was very foretelling without realizing that it was.

  • WTC! Twin Towers! Never forget! Represent.

  • There is a link between this and Coming to America as the Dukes who are bums meet Eddie Murphy(Akeem) and he hands them a bundle of notes in a bag.And Randolph says to Mortimer.....we're back.

  • @alslevie1986 Yeah it was really cute for them to put that in the movie like that, I loved it!

  • that's what you get when you "buy all you can" on margin.... had they been a little more conservative in their approach they would have taken a hit but it wouldn't have ruined them..... financially, winthorpe and valentine didn't crush them, they grounded them into dust

  • Thank you Louis!

  • world trade centers

"buy low, sell high": as above, so below.

"nothing you have ever experienced can prepare you for the unbridled carnage you're about to witness."

    "LAST 29 "

    "last" number is 9 (2+9)= 11

    9/11

    hidden in plain sight.

  • @grav04330 9+11 = 20. 20+3 = 23!@#$!@$@$

  • @grav04330 You're nuts.

  • @skyliner390 it called trading places

  • it was fucking hilarious!!! can anybody tell me the name of the movie ??

I've even looked at imdb on Eddie's filmographyy but is not listed there. :(

  • I saw a movie similar to this one, by Eddie Murphy too. Im dieing to find the name but I cant remember. Its about a man (Murphy) whose uncle just died and left him $300 millions. However he cant have the whole money. He can accept $1 million cash and walk away, or he can try to expend $30 million in 1 month, at the end of which he must not have any money left, possessions or properties at all. and he cant give away the money. If he fails he gets nothing, if not he get the $300 millions.

  • @skyliner390 - You are thinking of Brewster's Millions, and that is Richard Pryor, and not Eddie Murphy in that one.

  • @MichiganTrikker You are right !! thank you so much.

  • @skyliner390 That was Richard Pryor not Eddie Murphy and it was called Brewster's Millions (1985) With Richard Pryor, John Candy, Lonette McKee, Stephen Collins

  • What did he say from 1:41 to 1:52?

  • Oh Dear it didn't turn out to be such a happy new year for old Randolph and Mortimer after all... did it? Booohooo hooohoooooo!Better get your begging bowls ready boys your lives are gonna get very different from what you're used to!!

  • 3 people got their places traded...

  • In the scene you see the old New York floor for trading FCOJ. Now it trades on ICE which was started by Enron.

  • Eddie is so funny!

  • priceless

  • @8sec: Gone !!!! thanx Bush/Zionist partnership

  • "YOU AND YOUR NOBEL PRIZE...YOU IDIOT!" I so love this part! :)

  • My name is Mike from LA Although there busizz4me.info

  • Can someone explain the nature and function of the trade here? What happened?

  • @derocdero In a nutshell, it's short selling. Winthorpe and Valentine are selling contracts for frozen OJ at high prices that they don't yet have, and then they buy them from the traders at lower prices to zero their position and make some big cash. There's a detailed description somewhere online titled "Trading Places: How Winthorpe and Valentine pulled it off" that explains it in better detail.

  • @dk1368 I just seems like one big mob yelling and screaming out one another. How can anyone figure anything out or even hear each other?

  • @tigerzebra Your guess is as good as mine. But we can safely assume (for revenge's sake, and the sake of the plot) that they can do it.

  • @tigerzebra lol. yup :).

btw, I went to go look up that website about how Winthorpe and Valentine pulled it off. It was helpful. Still confusing but helpfull

  • fuck him!!!!!! i love it

  • Fuck the banks!

  • how much did Valentine & Winthorp make in the end?

  • @ivangrozny27 Enough.

  • @ivangrozny27 1 dollar haha

  • I love this movie.

  • Shalom. Has anyone noticed the World Trade Center Towers in the beginning?

  • @BigDust200 Yes. Of course. But what's with the "shalom". How about "hello." We're in America!

  • "In this building it's either kill or be killed". 0:28

  • haha xD epic laugh 1:22.

  • I listened to Robert Kiyosaki's advice on silver: "I believe this is the biggest investment anyone can make in the next 100yrs" I did my research and found an opportunity that has changed my life in 12 months. Take a look like i did.... Visit: goldsave.co/

  • @Efficacious24 Kiyosaki is stupid. He is a scam artist.

  • @Efficacious24 unless they confiscate your silver. . .

  • gillett and hicks will have the same expression as those 2 old farts in a few days lads!!!! YNWA

  • 2:15 - Al Gore, November 2000

  • good movie

  • "Well this is it the last bastion of real pure capitalism on earth""

  • Fantastic movie. Its a shame Eddie Murphy doesnt make movies like this anymore,he can be pretty funny when he has some excellent material to work with.Dan Akroyd is underrated to.Such a fun film ^_^.

  • SELLL WILSON SELLLL!!

  • it done winthorpe a favor..he got rid of a shit bird and a shit boss in one swoop and got street wise in to the bargain...result...

  • Oh I was hoping the whole scene would be on here

  • Nice world trade center shot in the beginning!!!!

  • what the dukes tried to do was not only inethical, but it was also illegal

  • This was before deregulation of Wall Street. Thanks to now Board Vice Chair of UBS Phil Gramm (R-TX)

  • i like how the exchange members are happy the duke brothers lost everything

  • Randolph and Mortimer seem to think that homeless people are low-lifes. Well in the end they are right.....about TWO of NY's homeless people at least.

  • I've never seen this film and found this vid by accident. What have those two old men done to deserve getting booted onto the streets?

  • @allywoo35 Basically, Dan Aykroyd's character used to work for them and was rich. Eddy Murphy's character was a bum. The Duke Brothers switched their lives (fired Dan and made him poor and gave Eddy Dan's house and job) and it was due to a bet they made with each other for $1. When Dan and Eddy's characters found out the truth, they decided to get even.

  • MY GOD! We're RUINED!!!

  • Look at that s car go!

  • You and your Nobel Prize. You idiot!

  • one minute you are up half a mill in soybeans and the next your kids dont go to college and they reposess your Bentley

Getting filthy rich and getting even at the same time: Priceless.

  • @dk1368 You missed: Lost wager: $1.

  • @NinjaGhostScorpion LOL good point!

  • @dk1368 lol !

  • Ummm, this is not technically the final scene in the movie. Did we forget about the tropical beach scene, and roll credits.....

  • @sgtbilkothe3rd Hmmmmm...

  • TURN THE MACHINES BACK OOOOON !!!

    LOL

  • @eddievaliant1 LOL! Man I almost die laughing when Mortimer says that! Dude lost it!!

  • i wish i can watch this again.... i was very young when i first saw this...can't remember most of the story anymore...

  • fINAL ass kick, love it !!!

  • 2:10-2:12.....what the love of money will do to you...

  • One of the best 80's comedy movies!

  • Oh dear , What A "sad" ending. So sorry for those two lovely old men!!!!Tough luck Randy and Morty.....POOR you!

  • THUMBS UP IF YOUR A REDDITOR!

  • Thumbs up for you, Sir!

  • Screaming at the brokers won't get your bucks back, Morty baby. HA!!

  • @tyrese3745 Lets hope old Morty is politer than that when he's begging passers-by for spare change!!!

  • Margin call gentlemen!

  • "FUCK HIM" LMAO!!!!!!! ILOVE IT!!

  • The Dukes spend the whole movie greedily looking forward to that day's trading and when it comes they become homeless. They end up as complete losers and they look it. What goes around comes around huh?

  • Amen to that, my man. Amen to that. Maybe that'll teach them never to fuck with Winthorpe and Valentine and their lives.

  • lol! 1:33 Ronald Regan look-a-like. which is so funny and appropriate because, this whole "time and Place" was about Reaganomics. 80's corporate greed and excess! Lol!@ perfect.

  • 02:00 Classic

  • "Mortimer, your brother's not well, we better call an ambulance"

    "FUCK HIM"

  • Fuck him.....turn the machines back on............turn the machines back oooooooooooon....lmao. The best.

  • fuck him haha classic

  • I adore this movie - definitely one of the best films of the 80's. Dan Aykroyd was soooo great and cute - very impressive!!! Eddie Murphy and Jamie Lee Curtis were brilliant as well.

Trading Places is great choice for Christmas time - so entertaining!

  • kind of eerie Ackroyd saying "nothing you have ever experienced can prepare you for the unbridle carnage you're about to witness...in this building it's either kill or be killed"...he's saying that right in from of the WTC!

  • "How could you do this to us after everything we've done for you. " Motimer completly lost it at the end, lol too funny!

  • ahh nooo. the bathroom scene is NOT the funniest, it's the most racist scene if anything.

  • bathroom scene is the funniest. ralph and don settle their bet and one says "do you really think i'd let a nigger run this company"

  • You and your Nobel Prize. You idiot! LOL

  • I would never ever wont to work in a crazy stock place, its a bitch trying to understand how stocks work anyways

  • @pbrskater26 It's relatively easy to understand. What's difficult is using the understanding to make consistant profits. And this is COMMODITIES FUTURES trading, not stocks, a true zero-sum game. There is a loser for every winner.

  • 1:23, that laugh! Classic!

  • god rest their souls, Ralph and Don certainly had good on-screen chemistry.

  • what they died? when?

  • Yeah a long time ago. Ralph died in 1991 and Don in 1993. God rest their souls.
