  • I can't believe I missed this wonderful video! I'm so glad to see a different side of Annie, in addition to your expressive interpretation of Chopin. Wondering how you trained your fingers so they become so handy to make those big contrasts, at just 8 years old. Simply amazing!

  • This completely reminds of Tom and Jerry, oh my god that brings back the memories. This is a very hard piece to learn. She must have a lot of talent.

  • i thought it was played by adult when i only hear the music~

  • this reminds me of when i was little and watched tom and jerry. i dont anymore but i can totally remember it. your really musical and talented for an eight year old!! keep on giving amazing performances!

  • The wonderful high-relief contrast exhibited in this playing speaks for itself - but for me the 'charm' takes center stage. Annie can evoke this - dramatically - even when she was quite young. A rare, humbling, and beautiful thing.

  • Even at 8, Annie was playing like a talented 16 or 17 year-old. I'm sure I'm not the only person around to predict a bright future for her! Well played - rhythmically, very much in control.

  • this is a great one and there is another one in the side bar thing with tammy wu

  • I learned this last year! This is a nice performance!

  • Dear Janet,

  • A very fine, very professional performance. Thanks for posting this!

  • Sehr gut!!!!!

  • she is so talented! i wonder when she started to learn. and i'd love to know who taught her. lol

    Fantastycznie! ( 5 )

  • Very technical, Lively, and impressive!

Your playing tells the story by itself.

    5 stars*****

  • Yea, her memory playing is great. She does most of her pieces by memory. And she's 8. It's amazing. This is someone who's really discovered her niche of talent and is developing to her fullest potential!

  • O.O how old is she? holy crap!!!

  • HOLY SHIT THATS A GREAT PERFORMANCE

  • *o*

    my jaw hit the floor..

    she's AMAZING :D

  • she's SOOOOOOOOOO talented...

  • i know a senior in high school who played this.

  • This is wonderful to watch.

it is making me think back to when i was a child. from what i remember i wasnt taken very seriously, as many kids arent, as if they are these silly little things that dont quite know much. But i knew i was way above what they thought of me. And watching this video makes me think Wow! this must be the True expression of a child who is encouraged to be who they really are. Look at her move! Thats not an act, thats some real stuff goin on there! hehe

    GREAT JOB!

  • Fabulous! What an amazing young pianist you are!!!

  • I love your performance of this piece so much! I remember when I heard you perform this at the Kiwanis concert group! I played right after you and we were 1st and 2nd in our group! (*^^*)

  • Very impressive

  • If I'm not mistaken she's playing this from memory. She spends the entire piece looking at the keys, not sheet music. Quite impressive.

  • Fantastico. Brava

  • fantastic!

  • You are so great!!!

  • God bless you girl !! You're amazing !!

  • wow !!

  • holy shinkies.

  • Bravo! We love this.

  • Very impressive performance!

But I must say I've heard this piece played by several 8-year-old kids within the past few years. Everybody plays it so differently. Annie is the one who sticks to the score the closest.

  • LOL, several 8-year-old kids play this piece?

Haha, man, that bit of trivia makes me feel rather ashamed at being 23 years old and not even being able to properly play Chopsticks!

    :-P

  • Well--just because they _can_ doesn't mean they _should_. One of the kids I heard playing this piece was banging on the piano the whole time...and most of the other kids had rhythm mistakes. Which is why I thought Annie's performance was particularly impressive!

I thought about teaching that piece to my 8-year-old student, but he wasn't ready at that time, so I waited a year and taught it to him when he was 9. And I made sure he counted the rests.

  • Ya, I've heard many kids play this in competitions (including Annie herself :):) but Annie's has been the most musical out of the ones I've heard.

  • Amazing as always, Annie! I'm a big fan! :)

  • This is fabulous, Annie!

  • Jacques, je suis tout à fait d'accord avec toi.

J'ai d'ailleurs parlé d'elle à Elena Rossman qui s'occupe d'Aimi et je lui envoie le lien ce soir même!

  • VERY GOOD!!!

  • Of course, she can sight read music! You don't plat all this repertoire by ear....especialy not with an orchestra. I think she is a pure jewell.

  • Tu sais, Patrick ;je suis subjugué, par une telle ressemblance ,en sensibilité ,en technique, et de savoir que cette petite "Annie" va nous faire sûrement, une grande carrière ...

Bonne santé à toi, et bravo !!! Annie.

  • Wow, I'm so impressed! Can she sight read music?

  • Bravo!!!!!!
