  • @Lupyak Yeh, I don't max cause I usually work out by myself, but I'm 15 and I usually do 150-170 by myself, and those are the same size as the ones I use, if not the exact same weights themselves, looks like 5 45 pound weights (4 weights + 45 pound bar)

  • well since this was posted in 2008 i imagine this kid has by now broken his sternum and likely caused nerve damage to one of his arms.(A uneven lift is the first sign you've got issues with muscle conductivity)

  • Maybe it's just the light but that looks like 225lbs to me. Also the form's off. Bounce, arch and paddling the bar (just very un-even and in working up to heavy weight, that's gotta be worked on). Yeah arching is a technique in bench, but that's a controlled arch. It does not change or get adjusted, or turn. His ass is basically off the bench, that is very improper.

    Just the same, no: a half-rep is going to be a hell of a lot easier than a full ROM. I can't tell you how many morons I've seen half-squatting, half-benching and half-leg pressing weights that they could do *one* full rep with.

  • There is nothing wrong with arching the back, powerlifters do it all the time as long as your ass stays on the bench some arch is ok. The bounce or plan letting the bar fall to your chest and then using momentum is garbage. Slow control on the way down.. Explosive on the way up. And stop posting your age in the videos that's stupid iron is iron weigh it weight age has nothing to do with that.

    No Kinesiologists would recommend arching your back, but Powerlifers would. do you know why? Because arching your back makes the lift easier! A real raw bench press means no arched back and no bouncing off the chest. Don't try to act intelligent. It does not work for you.
