If you study Persian history many good times came to Persian as rulers after imposition of Islam but nobody really or sincere in returning to their Zoroastrians roots.

If people want to learn more abt Zoroastrianism, they shud go to India and meet with people we refer to as "Parsis" or the 'Iranis."
Parsis are those Persian Zoroastrians who moved to India 1000years back when Arab invasion of Iran happened.
"Iranis' on the other hand are also Persian Zoroastrians, but they moved to India maybe 150years back.
Both sets of persians were welcomed in India and now have freedom to practise and preserve Zoroastrianism.
India also welcomed the Bahaii from Iran.

North-Indians who wrote Vedas (in India) and Persians who wrote Avesta (in Iran) may have had some common ancestry. BOTH books were written around the same time period. And BOTH books use the words "Aryan, Mitra, Asura, Soma" frequently.
Plus North-Indians especially in Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and parts of Rajasthan have somewhat similar features with Persians.
Kashmiri Pandits also claim to have been Zoroastrians who became Hindus when they moved to kashmir 3000 yrs back.

Zoroaster was a Brahman priest. His name dates back to the ancient rig Veda when Zoroaster wanted to preach the way of life and had split from sage vasistha. So, Zoroastrianism is almost exactly the same as what Hindu Brahman priests follow. vegetarianism, non violence, peace and care for all living beings.

Asho Zarathustra gave us some guideline, some people follow it some don't. You have freedom of choice and i can not see in any of Zarathustra´s Gatha that you MUST follow them, it only says by choosing good you are helping yourself and humanity and choosing Bad heart you and humanity, it's no angry God standing there to make you suffer, you make yourself suffer if you do wrong.

I am roman catholic and our religion mixed with the old German religion when we became Christianised. We also have an eternal flame in every church and on ash wednesday we get a cross of ashes on our forehead to remind us of the fact that this world is only temporary. Fire also symbolizes the holy spirit that influences our lives. Interesting. I must read more about Ahura Mazda and Zoroastrianism. It is in the end the first monotheistic religion on earth.

Don't try to turn back the clock. Khomeini and other religious leaders are jew posing as muslims. they're trying to defame, degrade, paralyze and ideally to destroy it from inside. Arabs invaded Iran under Omar who was a jewish convert and king of Iran at the time, khosro parviz was also a jew and handed the country over to them.

Sassanid dynasty was founded by Ardeshir I who was a jew. he was succeeded by his son jew shapur I, according to the jews themselves. jews wouldn't have handed the thrown to a gentile (aryan, persian). this even holds true to this date. jew khomeini was succeeded by jew khamenei who ensures the key positions remain in the hand of the jews known as osuledingaraha. che khaaje ali che ali khaaje. without jews in Iran, the population of iran could've been like those of China or India.

I am not a parsi...yes of course numbers matter little compared to good conduct which is the best religion of all...baha'is created by british? i didn't know about that? you sure? I was just worried as well that the zoroastrians were dying out!!it would be a shame if they did

Domsta333, today according to Christian world estimate more than 4 million people consider themselves Zoroastrian. Yes, Parsi in India are facing a challenge but Zoroastrian in Iran, great Khurasan or even in Kurdistan area are increasing.

I think that the christianity has more similarities with the zoroastrism than with the islam if you asked a zoroasrian what his religion say,he would answer:good thoughts, words and deeds.But what would say a muslim to you? (let us make a holy war, perhaps).I hope that the other monotheistic religions will have more interreligious conversations with the zoroastrism in future.
