That has got to be the best use of the opertaions guide since well, EVER! I wonder if there are other VC games that use the Operations Guide like that.
I lost my copy of the letter. :( Well, not like it mattered, anyway; until internet FAQs came along, I could never figure out how to get back the shaman guy's crystal ball. XD
@Chuckbourdeau I used to play the first one, but never got pass the password part when I didn't realized that you needed the letter to figure out how to get thru.
I found this game brand new at a flea market in 1999, when I was 15. NES was already very old, but it took me through the biggest (virtual) adventure of my life. Nice feature here, but I must concur that the ORIGINAL, actual paper letter was amazing. It was the absolute biggest surprise I have ever had in any game EVER. Like a good little gamer, I actually listened to it and kept the letter. I remember jumping with excitement after the code magically appeared in my bathroom sink!!! *sigh*
@eightbitgnosis i got the letter with my NES, without the game. now, my stepdad brings home the game a few months later. i get stuck on the letter part and realize i had it all along
@CirrusBluesummers I have several--that way you can dunk one and keep the others mint. It's not like getting the letter wet ruins it. Just dab some water on it, read it and let it dry.
