Everything gets checked multiple times, and is checked for veracity. It's not like wikipedia, and even wikipedia gets checked, and sources have to be put in. You can't just write in anything you want.

I can't help having mixed feelings about this whole episode. Bare in mind, though, you could easily go further and say ALL the documents wikileaks hold should be released at once - not in batches. Why should we have to wait until next year to know about this stuff? I think what they are doing is reasonable given the circumstances.

Everything gets checked multiple times, and is checked for veracity. It's not like wikipedia, and even wikipedia gets checked, and sources have to be put in. You can't just write in anything you want.

The problem i have with all this, is that it isn't his information to share. Imagine you confide in a friend, who then tells someone else your deepest secret, then that person tells the world. You telling me you should like or respect any of those people? The world is on a knife edge at the best of times, without pouring petrol on it all. If a war starts because of this, and its your family getting bombed, i doubt you'll still call Assange a "hero".

I can't help having mixed feelings about this whole episode. There's far too much bad stuff going on between the governments of this world, (massive over-simplification), but I'm not entirely sure that what Assange is doing is such a good idea and may be counter productive. @trollfinger Reasonable people don't focus on the style or tone, they focus on the MESSAGE... on the actual information. Have a look at those who are against Assange leaking documents. Can you name one who isn't against democracy??

Oh no, I'm not saying you are a believer in right wing politics, I know what you mean. But that kind of talk is used against war protesters. "You don't agree with the war in Iraq ?... then you must be against democracy" type crap.
Like Assange says they have a "nuclear" option that if shut down, they can release and it's apparently so damning that it's being kept for last. Should we not be entitled to knowing what this is ?

@trollfinger The 'nuclear' option is an interesting point. It could be a bluff. I'm not sure about that. Bare in mind, though, you could easily go further and say ALL the documents wikileaks hold should be released at once - not in batches. Why should we have to wait until next year to know about this stuff? I think what they are doing is reasonable given the circumstances.

That's my point exactly ! if they posses all this info, surely it's not right for journalists to hold out a begging bowl and wait to be fed the latest round of information. I hope the nuclear option is a bluff, otherwise I'd be a bit angry. I love the idea that facts are being dished out in such a large package, but I do think that ALL of what they have should be put out, if possible.
Think about it, it could change the minds of people who supported such a bloody escapade.

@MrDarkbloom lol... the leaks started out as truth but now its all a game, this is why the media are running the brainwashing to get the masses behind what he will leak next, and yes it is now all controlled leaks, he may even leak to collapse governments, but this is what the elite want when they bring in the NWO.

You don't like the idea of governments (who are supposed to represent their citizens!!!) being forced to be accountable for wrong-doing? Why are you against democracy? You have a nerve saying that.
