I think the best one is by far Lacuna Coil's with Tori's live version in second. But you have to look at this objectively. There's always going to be a difference based on music taste. The challenge is being able to open your mind and hold an unbiased view while judging. Very many people lack the ability to be able to say, "I don't like this music, but they do what they do well." For instance, I hate rap. But it isn't hard for me to tell the difference between good rap and bad rap.

The few exceptions were specially selected by her because she respects the original writer. Even during those exceptions, she finds a way to reinterpret the art and make it her own. The music scene is so littered with recording artists who only sing what others deem suitable for their voice that it is most refreshing to listen to Tori Amos sing sincerely from her soul. True art.

I find it very telling, that Amos covers both Nirvana and Depeche Mode. These are both descendent of punk, yes, but I think it is the atmosphere, the mood, right at the centre. Amos refines them both, and gets to that place. Here Nirvana and Depeche Mode are alike. It makes me think that Nirvana could be played like Depeche Mode, with synthesizer, and that Depeche Mode could be played like Nirvana, with grunge guitar. Would love to have heard Cobain scream, "Let's Play, Master and Servant!"

Find something new in the music that's untapped! What bothers me second most is when it's just some band recreating the song in their particular genre. I've used a 'free download manager' before, but that was a while ago, so I'm not certain it's still available. But if you google 'download manager', you SHOULD be able to find one that will allow you enough trial time or uses download this one video & perhaps use Audacity to convert it to an mp3 if you want.
