Ive only played the original Splinter Cell but I know that this game was a big change in gameplay for the series and in Sam's personality, I mean while so many people loved the series, it was tuime to make some big changes and thats exactly what Ubisoft did, but I do think its weird to think that this guy is the same Sam Fisher from the first game

Actually, the first Splinter Cell game was released in 2002. Besides that, Conviction (which is hugely different from previous games) was released in 2009, and 24 started in 2001.

Think about the coincidences. An agent who often goes rogue, interrogates people by extreme acts of violence, has a female friend on the inside, and acts on revenge for the death of a family member. He even sort of looks and talks like Jack Bauer.

@khaomeha Not really. The demo is played by the very developers, so they knew very good their way around... It's natural that they play so flawlessly, plus... the demo was made to show the different styles of gameplay in less than 3 minutes, that's why is very different from the final product where you see everything thoughout the game

Even tho it has less stealth elements than before, Conviction is still a fun game. It is wrong to say it is an all-action 3rd now tho....I still played the majority of the game in the shadows and enjoy the heck out of it. Only bad level would be the iraq one, which really felt like a third person shooter , other than that great game.

Bought it. Don't like it. The stealth aspect of it is nearly non-existent now. It's just another fast action shooter with some spy gadgets and a disconnected storyline. Why did they go away from the winning formula of Chaos Theory? They've completely killed off Lambert, so no more voice acting from one of the guys who made this series what it WAS.

Congrats UBIsoft, you've completely killed this series and perhaps the stealth action genre.
