@wulfesinger67 Thanks for the kind words. For the best price I have found, try Heinecke Wood Products.Look them up on the web, real nice folks to deal with !
Allen i carved right along with ya on the shelf elf got mine done and i didn't do a bad job (eyes wasn't to good,oh well) but i really enjoyed it. keep it up. this is my first carving.
Thank's sothunfried im smilin' ear to ear for ya ! The eyes are kinda tough when beginning ( I can relate very well) but just keep practicing and keep a mirror handy ,to study the best example there is."Long live the elf wherever may he may set."
Could you show a pattern for the cutouts? Either on a piece of paper with measurements, or drawn on the block of wood with measurements? Kind of tough for me to eyeball this.
The most important thing is it has to have e-nuff wood to "sit" on a shelf, without falling off. I used a 2'' x 2'' x 7'' in the article, but it can be any size you like !
Thanks for commenting ! I make my own line of woodcarving knives using hi-carbon steel tempered 59/60 rc. scale. I specialize in "flexible" blades that help in a myriad of different ways. Allen
Thanks for the step by step..im a newbie whitler and it helps..oh yea SEMPER FI Bro....77-98 :-)
