Just because it's not fancy doesn't mean it's not amazing. The whole point that he never gave up on the play and managed to score with pure talent and skill.

No. He did not score with any talent or any skill. The goalie gave it to him, did you see him dive way to early? Any self-respecting goalie could stop that shot any day. Just because he was on his back (and his name is Ovechkin) everyone thinks it's some amazing goal. It's just horrible goaltending

I guarantee you that there are only 10 guys in the NHL that could even score this way, and Ovechkin did it in a game. When Malik won that shootout for the Rangers it made the highlight reel even though he sucks beyond reason.

I can gaurentee you that just about ALL goaies could make that save. Malik's shootout goal was an amazing goal, he completley owned the goalie and fooled him. You seriously need to know what a good goal looks like. I could find at least a hundred goals better than ovechkins. You know why? Because the goalie doesn't dive out of the way

Are you kidding? Look at the video again. The goalie lost sight of the puck when it was in front of Mara's feet, and when he sees it again, he dives for it. When he loses the puck, the goalie goes into a butterfly, and can't react quickly enough. As for Malik, if that move was that good, why haven't we seen it more in the NHL?
