@CLASSICALFAN100 -Paul Hubschmid (20 July 1917 – 31 December 2001) was a Swiss actor. He appeared as Henry Higgins in a production of My Fair Lady. In some Hollywood films he used the name Paul Christian. He appeared in dozens of films and some television series between 1938 and 1991: many were German productions and some were produced abroad.
The English language titles were probably drawn in the US and the designer was working from a list with a typo. Possibly at some stage there was a handwritten list and someone misread a V for a J. Easily done and no-one from the European production may have seen it until it was too late.
Less likely to happen now simply because the names would be more likely to be preserved through a series of digital files and checking at a distance is infinitely easier than in the 1960s.
@islandsylph I agree! This movie was clearly made by Europeans who may have met a few Americans but certainly didn't know anything about us. And as an American I can tell you, I'd have given her a big wet one and grabbed her ass with both hands.
@twobluehorses Well, Europeans regard Americans as being rather uptight and prudish so I guess they went with it. Europeans are a far more passionate bunch normally. North Americans are still far more prudish than they are. That is why my BF is european :P

Thank you for posting.
By the way, isn't it neat that we all have to cower in fear because a
few greedy slimeballs may deem that we've transgressed Divine Law
by uploading the wrong 9 minute segement of a 1950's grade Z schlock
movie that nobody was interested in even when it was originally released
(or in some cases, escaped.)
Hooray for Hollywood!

what 50s sf movie had an unknown space object burning up the earth?
anisete46 3 years ago
i think it was called "the lost missile". an alien missile gave off intense radiation as it orbited the earth, causing mass destruction.
