  • Hi there. Thanks for your enquiry. When you buy the course you get it as a download. All the best for your trip to China! :)

  • @LanguageBite how do i know this is safe to purchase online since you are not in the US

  • @LanguageBite how do i know this is a safe site to purchase something

  • @LanguageBite Can you make more? PLZZZZZZZZZ

  • I went onto the website and the free lessons are very choppy with the streaming. When we buy the lessons, are the videos streaming or downloaded? We train with a Shaolin Monk for Kung Fu and we are planning a trip to China. My kids, 8 and 10, find these videos easy to follow. :D

  • If a learn mandarine will all the other chinese dialects be able to understand me? Thanks.

  • I briefly studied Chinese in middle school, but a book isn't a good language instructor. Since hearing someone say something, helps enormously.

If I could, I would go back to when I was young, and ensure I learned Chinese.

Since I can't do that, I'll just have to settle with learning it at 22 years old :|

    Great lesson :)

  • hahahaha ni hao

  • Ni Hao, will you make more lesson. Wo Jiao James

  • Thank you! You should make more video's!*

  • I say for anyonw learning manderin, don't worry about getting hung up on the tonal aspects of the language. Just learn how to pronouce the word in mono-tone. The tonal part will become second nature in time.

If you speak in sentences, any chinese speaker will understand you even though you will your tonal part is off.

It will sound like a spanish person speaking english-even though he has an accent, you will probably understand him.

  • @ykltc - That's good adivice. Thank you for that. I agree with you because the other day I was practicing Mandarin with a friend of mine at her resturant. Even though my my accent butchered the Mandarin language, she was still able to understand me. So you are right about that.

  • Ni hao...more lessons please...come back...zai jian

  • Laerning Mandarin with pretty Chinese girls. Yum Yum Dim Sum 5*****

  • I am *so* glad my parents forced me to learn this language as a child. It was NOT easy to learn Chinese Mandarin and I hated attending Chinese lessons and often spoke to the teacher in English! LOL So much easier to learn as a child than as an adult. I can read, write and speak Mandarin as well as English (my first language). Thank you Mum and Dad!

  • man, let me explain 2 u, as you know " ni " it's the 3 tone sound but when the second word its another 3 tone sound like " hao" then the "ni" change to the 2 tone , u gotto? ok, thanks ,bye

  • Thank you for your lesson. But i am confused by something... you say Ni uses dipping tone.

but you have marked it differently at one point, using a rising tone. Can you please clarify this for me. Hearing the tones is the most confusing part for me..

    again, thank you.

  • This is great! But it isn't explained in the video why they have written "ní" with the 2nd tone when "ní hǎo" is written together, but written like "nǐ" (3rd tone) when written alone. This may confuse the absolute beginner. I am a beginner, and it would have confused me too if I hadn't just recently read about this in my grammar book.

Great video otherwise. Thanks for making these beginner lessons.

  • this way to explain is easier than others which i have ever seen before. The hardest part to learn to me, are the tones. But with this video I could understand so better. The way which people speaks is so clear and understandable. Congratulations! I hope you continue to upload videos like that. 太好了!

    拜拜

  • Hi Willianely. Thanks for taking the time to give feedback. This program was designed with the absolute beginner in mind - we agree that the tones can be the biggest barrier to getting started. We have tried to introduce them gently and simply. Really glad you like the lessons :)
