A truly inspiring video. I'm getting a dual sport motorcycle soon. I am looking at the 650 class because I'm about 6ft, 260lbs. Any advice from your motorcycle pals would be appreciated. Thank you for the video.
@pjppow171 Thank you for watching and for the comment, we really appreciate it. Dual Sport bikes are always a compromise, because they are both street and dirt. We have only been riding sanctioned events for about 3 years, but we have learned: Depending on how much $ you have you can go with a Euro exotic like KTM or Husqvarna. However the Japanese bikes are more reliable, and cheaper to maintain. We ride a Honda XR 650R & L. The R needs to be licensed and is kick start, but the L is legal...
@pjppow171 as is. My dad's is the 650L that is street legal. He has done some mods to make it lighter and better on trails. The problem with 650's is the weight, noticeable on down hills. Smaller bikes like the Suzuki DRZ400 are lighter and better on single track trails, but you are stuck on the slow lane on the freeways. Google the AMA District 37 Dual Sport website and go on the forum, those guys are veteran dual sport riders. Also, check out the site: Dualies dot com for great info :)
@jaynen Thank you so much for watching and for the comment. I really appreciate it :) Of course, feel free to share it with anyone and everyone. I just made the video for fun. I had so much fun however, that now I want to buy a bike!
@SDBlueLady Thanks again :) I thought it would be more interesting to narrate it and make it like a documentary. I got tired of seeing Dual Sport videos with no editing or music. I love Warren Miller's work, so that is a huge compliment. Keep in touch! I will be making more Dual Sport videos, and I also made a similar video for the Cal Poly Hi-Mountain Dual Sport ride in San Luis Obispo.
@SDBlueLady Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. It was so much fun. Makes me want to go and buy a bike now. Big Bear is so beautiful with such diverse terrain.
@ronkooper Ahhh man, that guy probably hates me now. Oh well, it was a pretty cool shot. You can hear me saying, "Oh shit!" as he summersaults down the hill. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@bribee27 Awww thanks Briana :) I want you to know I really appreciate your personal and professional opinion. I am really grateful Monica introduced us. I have always loved watching documentaries on anything, so I figured why not give it a shot. I am excited for our next team effort!
Awesome video man just bummed you didn't get me going up that crazy rocky hill. I posted it on YouTube the guy at the top said I was the first one. Check it out under braymond161. Keep up the good work.
@braymond161 Thanks for the comment and support! Ahh, sorry we missed you. Sat on that hill being eaten by flies for about an hour and a half, and only caught those 2 that made it. Watched your footage, you made it look like a piece of cake! At the banquet I asked for footage, too bad I couldn't get your before I started editing. Oh well, next year come introduce yourself and I will make sure to put you in the vid. Thanks again and congrats on making it to the top!
@Texanguy47 Thank you Perry! I am glad you enjoyed it. I just wanted to try something new, and it was fun to combine my dad's passion with mine. I realized this is my channel, so I am just going to keep doing whatever I feel like. Not going to worry about views and subscribers as much, and just do it for the love of it.
@Jefrode Cool! Sorry I missed your name. Congratulations on completing the "hard" ride. That is really amazing. Thanks for watching and commenting as well. See you at the next one!
@pixiepuff2006 Thank you Patrice :) It was a lot of fun, and a unique challenge to film and create. It was something that had family history too, so I learned a lot. I will keep making videos . As you can tell I just have kind of been making videos about whatever I am passionate about at the moment, and that changes from week to week. I don't think it's a bad thing though. I realized my channel is my channel, and I can do whatever I want. Big hugs and smiles as always :)
@BrianPedd It is better to go with what you are passionate at the moment it make creating it more fun then forcing yourself to do something you don't like. I love the variety of things you talk about it makes watching your videos more of an adventure and can see some of what is happening with you. Excited to see what you come up with next. Hugs and smiles :)
thanks for the PM. Great Stuff !!
