Hi I am a mom of a 16 year old AS boy. r. He did get too big to lay him down to change so we stood him next to the counter in the bathroom. He needed to keep his hand on the counter for balance. We then tear the sides of the pull ups and it is very easy and quick to change. Using your hip to lean against the back of the diaper is key to not letting the contents fall as you reach between the legs to grab the front of the pull up and wipe. Good luck and hope this helps.
wow! i can't believe that others get into their diaper as well. my daughter is 5 n shes gotten better about NOT diggin in her diaper but every now n then she still does. i can't put her onesies cuz she unzips it. shes VERY smart n doesn't give up until she figures something out.
My Miro was called Houdini for what he could get out of. We used an old fashioned safety diaper pin on the back of the onesie to lock the zipper into place. It worked! He was never able to push in and pull out at the same time to release the pin. For extra protection we filed the end to make it dull.
Oh my gosh...my sister who has angelmans use to get into her diapers and probably still would if it wasn't for wearing full sleepers backwards to bed. I had no idea so many similar traits went with Angelmans!
@ACdub707 - Angelman Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder. I created an awareness video for the ASF & it explains it in detail on my youtube channel... kellycastillo79
Wow! Thank You for posting this! My son is almost 3 and I am getting physically unable to hold him down for diaper changes. (He does not have angelman's but has special needs, we just don't have a diagnosis yet) I will try this technique.
Wow I do that the exact same way at least 10 times a day lol...I seriously thought maybe someone tickled her too much and that's what made her squirm like that...oddly enough I'm glad you posted I now know I'm not alone haha
@freddythecanine He isn't potty trained because he has Angelman Syndrome it is neurological disorder that affects their brain and they need help with everything. maam!

@taushable - it's the only way we can manage changing diapers, although he is getting becoming so strong... this way is getting difficult as well :)
