  • I've gotten in trouble for sharing this exact message. There is one point I feel is missed, though.

You can 'commit a sin' (the NOUN) without knowing. David mentions this briefly in Psalm 19:12. This means there ARE sins we commit and not know, but based on the definition of sin as a VERB, I don't believe we will account for each one we commit if we can't comprehend perfect right and wrong. We are all imperfect, and do wrong every day - which is why God showed mercy through His Son.

  • The only problem I have with this is that Kris said you would have to answer to God for potentially running over someones foot. Didn't Jesus actually already answer for us? Genuinely asking, not trying to be a jerk... I love Kris V!!

  • This is great. Thanks so much for posting.

  • You can sin without knowing ...

  • This is incredible. "The only way you can sin is to know that what you're doing is wrong and doing it anyway." So true.

  • My only question is where is the accountablity when you've hurt another person unintentionally? We need to apoligize when we've hurt a person by what we say or do. It may not be a sin, but we still should be accountable for what we did.

  • But because Jesus came and was that atonement for our sin those sins intentional or unintentional are covered by his sacrifice for us. Which brings me to think that ezekiel 45:20 does not now hold grounds to our life, but is there to show us what bound us and what the Jesus did for us by laying his life down for us.... i guess thats just my take on it, but i really like this video.

  • i may not know a lot about God and stuff, but if you go back to the beginning of the video and listen about what he is saying about abraham and the law and stuff being brought in, you can kinda get a little insight into that question i think.

I think i am kinda understanding this now, but God gave us the law to show us our sin and sacrifices were made because the guideline was set out.

  • ok so i couldnt be bothered to read everything below hahah. My only question would be how can u reconcile what hes talking about with how preists used to have to offere sacrifices for sinning out of ignorance? Would be cool to hear a reply:)

  • @con1ah Ezekiel 45:20 (New International Version)

20 You are to do the same on the seventh day of the month for anyone who sins unintentionally or through ignorance; so you are to make atonement for the temple.

    Hebrews 9:7 (New International Version)

7But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

  • Kris is so great at nailing a point of truth--just when he talks you feel the impact...conviction... One thing though: a seeming "mistake" may be the result of sin in that an underlying attitude or presumptiousness like arrogance (like the kind that others can see in you and you don't even see in yourself) gives rise to an offense that the other person feels the sharpness of and you just chalked it up to a "mistake".

  • what about Luke 12:47-48. I agree with Kris, but not sure about this one:

47"That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

  • @jcingels agreed. i could never remember where this passage was.

    -tommy ;] hehe

  • When the bible says to obey the laws of the land, the christians in China are sinning because they are breaking that law by having a bible and hiding underground to worship God. but they really aren't sinning because they believe it is not wrong. what's going on? this seems like a paradox. this means it is ok to smoke pot because i believe it is good and the law against it is bad? what are the scriptures to back what he is saying?

  • It can seem paradoxical, but consider Acts 5:29 and the verses surrounding it. What the Christians are facing in China is persecution, similarl to the first Christians. If smoking pot were something sanctioned by God (which it is not), then it would be different. However, preaching the gospel is a command, reading the Bible and worshiping God is also part of the Christian walk and the people are willing to break a man-made devil-inspired law in order to express their commitment to Christ

  • @FeefintheNight

    Acts 4:18-20

"Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus (like in China). But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." :-]. If it comes down to obeying God's commands or obeying the laws of the lands, who's words are higher, right? :-]

  • Mm hmm. Good word. :)

  • thanks for this!!!
