  • How do you get in the shelter if your cars over it? That car was pretty low to the ground

  • this will become a burial grave when the entire house falls on top of it, you'll become trapped.

  • Neat, product!

  • "Honey where are the Keys?"

  • 1. You wont have enough time to move car.

    2. As someone else said you'll be trapped under your house and car if the storm is bad.

  • 1 GET IN

2 WAIT UNTIL STORM IS OVER

    3 TRY TO GET OUT

4 CAR AND HOUSE STUCK OVER DOOR

    5 YOU ARE STUCK

  • as long as you don't get stuck!

  • That is a tiny basement

  • @kibblesforme123 You don't have to move the car; the door extends in front of the car a couple of feet. When I had one, at the first tornado warning we'd make sure the car was positioned in the garage to ensure entry (you usually have at least 20 minutes). As for flood, this is only meant for a short time during and shortly after a tornado...it takes quite a bit of rain to flood, and you'd be out by then.

Most cars in the path of the Joplin storm didn't move, so you're unlikely to be crushed...

  • @BuzzBarber @BuzzBarber If you normally have 20 minutes, why not just go somewhere with an actual basement where you don't have to worry about trying to move a car+collapsed roof off the lid with a $10 wal-mart come-along?

  • U don't need these that is what basements are for u dumb ass

  • Its a great idea but i see two problems here. #1 how are you going to get in if your fancy ass lexus is parked over it and what if you dont have time to move it? #2 what if there is a flood? You sure as hell cant go in there if thats the case.

  • Good stuff.but i dont like the posibility to lock the shelter from the outside. Im kinda paranoid like that.

  • I like the idea but I've found one little issue. Uh I like air so where's the air and if there's a flood guess what u got it... OH FUCK.

  • You may say you can park a car over it, but then how are you going to get into when the storm comes... you'll have to sacrifice one of your family members to park the car over it.... XD!

  • Well now I know I can fit more than one person in my coffin

  • Too bad my car's blocking the entrance!

  • Your kinda safe but ur lexus is fuked

  • DAMN!!!!! IM TWO YEARS TOO LATE

  • looks like a coffin family sized!

  • we need these in ND to many tornados we got one that was like 5 miles away

  • *storm raging*

Quick to the stormshelter!!! FUCK my car is blocking the way.

    Quick find my carkeys!!!

  • @pietzeekoe that was hilarious i think i pissed myself.

  • Fantastic! commercial advertising and an informative news item all in one.

  • that soo doesnot look safe

  • And you can work on your own car without all the trouble of useing a lift !

  • @Opaltom Right and I am going to trust my wife to drive the car over a pit that I am in? I will stick to doing it with a ramp. Sure you get on the ground and ants sometimes bite me but I can change my oil in about 15 min I use to wait for oil change greese monkeys to get to me on saturday for hours finally I got tired of that shit and decided to do it my self I have done it myself ever since.

  • really good thing to fix your car from under side.

  • what if the storm pushes the car on top of the shelter then your fucked

  • lol I like the comealong. Not a bad Idea!

  • My brother in law built an underground shelter like this in their garage. Here is the problem I see with these underground shelters. If the house falls in, and you are trapped.... the house could catch fire, and you would be roasted like a potato... If there is wide spread damage, it could be a week before anyone gets too you! If there was just a little damage you might be ok, but there has to be alternate escape routes, and these don't have them!

  • @Lakeside54321 See comment below about the Come-A-Long Jack and the GPS....two of the problems solved right there...as for the fire...well, in the highly unlikely event that your house gets hit by a tornado...AND catches on fire...AND the authorities with the GPS locator dont get to you in time (rain will probably follow a tornado so itll get everything wet to where it cant catch fire) then youre pretty much screwed..but this all happening at once would mean you have some shitty shitty luck!

  • This is really cool that ya'll do this "Give-Away" thing, I know personally for me my parents never got one because it was too expensive and they figured it would be a better investment to put in a hot tub...and go figure, 3 years after they built our house an F3 hit it...which is why im so adamant on having one now lol.

  • Yikes, if the house goes down, which it probably would, you would be trapped! Need to get a stand up safe room, or a outdoor shelter or a inground one in the backyard away from the house. Scary

  • Ya know, after watching this video, and looking at the other storm shelter brands out there, I like this one. I know I said I liked the traditional storm shelter, but this will keep you from having to dig a huge hole in your backyard. Its a shame ya'll dont sell your shelters in TX. If ever and whenever I do buy a house I will definitely be getting a shelter but I cant pay for the shipping from Tennessee!

  • actually we are in Texas also... we serve 11 different states!!! when you do get your house let me know! :)

  • i dunno, it would be too claustrophobic for me. what happened if you were down there and a car was parked on top of you, or during a tornado warning, if something fell on top of it

  • @rubberduckiesquack I think thats why storm cellars are traditionally installed in the back part of the backyard or someplace at least 20 feet away from the house, so a wall collapsing on top of it is very unlikely. Sure its unsafe having to run outside to get to it, but if you pay attention and get there early, you could get out there pretty fast and before the major debris starts flying around...the traditional method is better in my personal opinion.

  • in the worst case scenario we are GPS located so if everything is sitting on top of your shelter we still know where you are. What we do is after installing the shelter we stand on top of it and get your GPS coordinates ans send that into secure-a-shelter they monitor weather 24 hours a day and when a tornado is spotted in your area they notify your police and fire departments that they need to make sure you are out and ok

  • this is a great hide and seek place or a place to plow the girlfriend

  • Cool, you can change the oil on the car at the same time.

  • you can see my video response ... but don't do it, spend the 6,000 and do the one in garage ...

it was way too much work ... (on the other hand, kind of nice to keep 6,000 :-))

  • Was just thinkin the same thing sooo theres a tornado coming but hold on I have to open the garage door to move the car out of the way to get into the shelter thats parked underneath the car...then once the house collapses on top of the shelter I have to be some sort of super human to lift who knows how much weight in debris off of the shelter to get out...Worst idea for a storm shelter ever!!!

  • actually where we usually install the shelter is only 16 inches in from your garage door that way if you can stand behind your car with your door shut you don't have to move your car to get into the shelter

  • Wonder how you ever get out if your entire home collapses on you in debris along with the car. Not a clever way of installing a storm shelter.

  • The shelter comes with a Come-A-Long to open the lid if there is debris on the lid. Many of our customers park their car over their shelter to keep debris off the lid. The goal of this shelter is to live through the tornado. In Memphis we do not have basements so this is the next best option. Thanks for your comments.

  • @Arbeiter10 So lemme get this straight, in the heat of the moment and the hectic panic while you have seconds to get into your storm shelter, you're going to be able to: 1) Open your garage door, (2) back your car up, (3) Get your family inside, (4) re-Park your car over the shelter door, and (5) Hope you can get under your car and into your shelter before the tornado hits!?! C'mon!! Additionally I dont care how strong of a come-a-long your have, it will not be able to lift your collapsed house!

  • @Arbeiter10 how do you get in if you park your car over it?

  • @Arbeiter10 If the car is over the shelter, you would have to move the car. Then get in the shelter. It would take few seconds for a tornado to level the house.Think about the time to move the car to get to the shelter.

  • Are you aware of how much your post makes YOU look like the dumb a** ?

  • Its nice but its not nice when the car or other heavy object are over the shelter opening. Hope that this shelter has toalett system and so on?

  • That's amazing.

  • You would have to have a GPS homing devise in your shelter, for the emergency crews to find you and finally dig you out, if the house/basement collapses on the shelter opening.

  • 2/5 was my Bday
