Can we see a demo of the air bearing beside a mechanical bearing? That would be neat.

In the nmr lab were I work some samples are spun up to 16,000 Hz using an air bearing. Kind of bogles the mind.

cool concept, "arre15" is asking the same question that I have, how much air pressure is requierd to run a unit thus is there a PSI to LBS of shaft ratio? How close to contact GAPdoes it have to be?

For one thing this guy is very dainty!  Also, you cannot replace precision mechanics with pneumatic seals! That is all!!
