  • @Allegroequine14, some lines carry a chestnut gene, so occasionally one sees a purebred chestnut Friesian. It's considered a fault in mares and geldings, and a serious fault in stallions. Friesians may have a small white star, but otherwise they are supposed to be solid black. Some of them will fade in the sun and look reddish. Sometimes one sees Friesian crosses with a Friesian conformation but decidedly non-Friesian coloration.

  • so, you obviously know your stuff on friesians. has there ever been a friesian not black? that was pure? :) jw, cause they all seem to look the same to me lol

  • @allegroequine14 I have seen different colors such as chesnut, black, and one time I saw a pinto :)

  • the gods among the horses

  • Jasper is my fav!!!.these atre so beautiful horses..i love friesian horses :D

  • Why don't they ever show mares in horse shows? Just curious.

  • They do- just not at this event- as it is to evaluate new stallions for breeding privileges, and also see the older, already approved FPS Friesian Stallions. At this show they decide which one is the best overall. There are about 100 in the world now and each year 5-7 make it after the 3 initial inspections and then they must pass the 70 day testing.

  • Oh I hope my Friesian filly can be half as good as these stallions!

  • Friesians are the most proud looking stallion i've ever gazed upon. proud bouncy - perfect. every friesian i have seen is fully trained in dressage and showing, Its like they were born this way, without a fault but they are beautiful x

  • Love this I really like also the way the handlers are dressed all in white & then the reins, halters and such are white!! Really makes everything stand out WOW GREAT VIDEO especially with Tina Tunner WOW! TKS. DJ

  • Beautiful video. They are some beautiful horses. I;m in the process of buying a friesian so I'm really excited.

  • Watching this gives me goosebumps

  • great video! im really the biggest fan of friesians (i ride them for 6 years now), but i dont like the "new generation". the new type is too slim in my opinion, i wish they were look like the old stallions...
