Does voice to text work without a network present and how good is it ?- could you use it to automatically transcribe a work meeting for instance? The iphone's Dragon Dictate can do that.

@umpcowner Unfortunately not! The voice-to-text feature uses Google's cloud-based transcription service. Transcription is good at times and atrocious at other times. There's also a fair bit of latency (maybe this is due to my network connection though) so it wouldn't be fast enough to keep up with a meeting at work in realtime. Though there might be an application which can record the meeting and then transcribe it afterwards?

@thegrimnok It's very difficult to use it without a Google account... I tried doing it but it kept asking me to set up a Google account to do run this app, that app, to use certain functionality, etc. I would say that in order to use the device fully, you'll need a Google account.
