A very good song; I have always liked it, and consider it to be one of the finest single that Tony Orlando made during the course of his career - either with or without Dawn. I was very surprised to discover recently that it only reached #39 in the 'Hot 100' - i.e. the American singles chart. Here in lil ole England, it came close to reaching the very top, back in August of 1971. And, generally speaking, Mr Orlando and Dawn were more popular in the U.S.A. than they were over here.
With regard to the comment by ColumRogers [above], the two women who appeared in the video with Tony Orlando - back in 1971 - are probably more than middle-aged now. After all, '71 was forty years ago now. I was six years of age in the summer of that year, when "What Are You Doing Sunday" was riding high in the UK charts ...... which means that I am now well into middle-age myself. Time waits for no man (or woman), unfortunately.
Sorry I disagree you should try the Eagle at Flanshaw Wakefield on a Wednesday i sing this song and yes it si beautifull would love to get hold of the track on Karaoke my self though.
I love this song sooo much, I'm only 32, so this song is like 5 or 6 years before I was born I believe. Just love love Tony and his ladies. One of those awesome groups you can listen to for hours...timeless.
This is one of my favorite too that he does!! Tony looks GREAT & is as healthy as ever, lost a lot of weight and is a HOTTIE!! He just got back from IRAQ entertaining the troops. He is still singing his heart out better then ever all over, the world even!! He has a AWESOME band with him that can rock your socks off!
He is in the NY & NJ area a lot also goes to Conn. too for some fun in the Sun!!
Ever get a chance to go to his show, go, I Promise you'll see a show you'll never forget!!
Telma Hopkins is an actress who is currently touring the country in the play "The Clean Up Woman".I have seen it and it is hilarious. She also has a TV show in the works called "Community Service", which will come in 2010.
Also, Tony Orlando and Dawn released a Christmas Album in 2005 called "A Christmas Reunion." It's a great CD, and you can pick it up on amazon or at most music stores.
Joyce is still singing, and she and sister Pam are currently a part of the group "Tour De Force" who are planning to release a CD and tour this summer. She is also involved with the Gospel Choir "The Inspirational Voices of Free".
Joyce and Telma are both still beautiful and have wonderful voices. If you would like to see what they look like now, just do a search on this site for Joyce vincent and Telma Hopkins. They are in quite a few recent videos.
petesol206,I wholeheartly agree that Tony Orlando and Dawn are absolutely the best, the memories that come flooding back everytime I hera their hit songs are many, glorious endless summers a relatively peaceful world, with great music to match.
Hi Travers54, a lot of Tony Orlando's music bring me good memories too. I like "Knock 3 times", "Candida", "Tie a yellow ribbon" and "Say has anybody seen my sweet gypsy rose". He dances very well too!
I saw Tony Orlando and Dawn in March 1976 at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC. The show was delayed due to an ankle injury to Joyce. They toted her out and she had to sit on a stool for the performance. But it was a good show, though. Did anyone else see them around this time? Please reply if you did.
Hi Mkl62, even though I didn't see the concert, I really enjoy this video and am glad I can share it with you and everyone here. I hope you like this video too, thanks.
i first heard this song when i was on holliday fifteen years ago it stuck in my head for days after . today was the second time i heard ,its such a catchy song..
Whoosh! This was another favourite of my little friend whom I've mentioned elsewhere. The only time we nearly fell out was over her playing Dawn songs. I've matured since then. gfrkiss, let me be the second to say this is fantastic!
*squeals* eeeee!!!! love love love this song!!! and the video! omg clean shaven Tony Orlando lol...i was giggling though, asking TWO women to marry him...hope they were planning on moving to Utah!
Hi, I had actually posted this song without a video two months prior. There were a lot of good comments. Later when I posted this with a video, I deleted the earlier one and thus lost most of the nice comments.
Would you please post the karaoke version of this song ?
It's a super nice song to sing.
Thanks so much.
tinabriansongs 10 months ago
@tinabriansongs - this is the karaoke version that came from the VCD. When you connect to your
mixer or amplifier, be sure to unplug the right channel.
On a Pioneer 555 karaoke player, there is a multiplex switch whereby if you press it, it will turn
off the right channel and bounce the left channel onto the right to make it mono and at that point,
the vocals come off.
These VCD's are designed this way to help people singalong before they sing without the guide vocals.

Great song but not exactly karaoke if you can hear the original singer.
dazzybabe 1 year ago
Tt is on a VCD that is made for karaoke.
If you play it on the karaoke player, there is a "multiplex" switch that you can press to turn off the voice.
If you don't have a karaoke player, then you need to turn off the left channel to turn off the voice.
The voice track is there for people to learn the song.
