there seems to be some confusion on the fireballs.

Explosions 101: an explosion is a fire, which burns extremely fast. this can be achieved by both reaction times and oxidizer/reducer mixtures. most explosive compounds however have the oxidizer built into the molecule like Nitroglycerin. hence no external oxidizer is needed. considering the sheer amount of air inside a spaceship, and the sheer amount of fuel, yes there will be an explosion.

@bluecollaraddict Partially correct. One of the reasons why fireballs have the colors that they have is because of the atmospheric temperature (which, ya know, *space* lacks). Even if fire were to form in outerspace, it would most likely be a white flash more than anything else.

So the real reason for fireballs in outerspace is the Rule of Cool. I mean come on, wouldn't you be willing to suspend your disbelief for frickin' basestars exploding in frickin' space?

I had a a hell of a fun time with homeworld 2 and this mod. Its still one of may favorite RTS.Graphics are not what make a game good. I"v played many games that have bad graphics but where great fun.

@Benzmann Science 101; explosives have to have their own oxidizer in order to expand fast enough to produce an explosion.It might feed on oxygen but the catalyst for the explosion still allows it to happen. Once thats gone it quickly winks out, both in game and show. Also the game is over a decade old fool.

and, the grpahics on this have had an overhaul since this was created. but nexus's glows and lighting win, texture+weapons win for this mod however.

actually Galactica was above the baseship so all of its guns can fire plus the Flak effect and ecm both battlestars were untouchable :)

above the baseship? lol only has 4-down facing flak emiters, so that would suck, stick them below, yes it uses less guns but, the flak protects 10x better.

or do as i did on the vido, and stick it preety much level, all guns can fire top+bottom+front. anf 70%+ of the flak is used =)

there is also another way to beat it, when you star the battle just move Galactica farther away from the 4 Baseships, i moved Galactica further into the dustcloud to the point where is can intersect all incoming ordinance, i actually didnt need peggy for that mission :) i'll try and post a video of what i mean.

Not necessarily incompetent. From what I can tell the Pegasus that jumped in during this mod was at full health; the one in the series, you have to remember, had tanked a lot of damage, not the least of which included multiple nukes. It's entirely possible that the ship just didn't have the strength left to kill a few basestars before going down.

I love this mod, but the Combat AI needs some work. the Battlestar will always turn the other way when I order it to attack. And if I issue a move order the thing won't use it's main guns, really frustrating.

ahhh, press F4 (suppression fire)THEN o using the move orders =)

as for clicking to attack, i personally havent had that happen. mine tend to start going sideways but, problem with that is they stop firing there flak when you do that so. it dosent work too well, but press F4 or click suppression fire, then try issueing the move order and he will attack whilst u move him to your desired location.

also note, atlantia seems to only fire upwards. =)

lol, no... i had no-intention to re-inact the crash as i knew it would not collide, i simply intended to shuv pegasus in there face, and try to let its very-small ammount of flak deal with some of the incomming missiles at close range, as it would be more effective that way.
