Hey what's the biggest memory card you can put in this camera? Cause i'm debating wether to get this or the Flip Ultra Hd, but i went to the Canon website and it says 8gig is only 43 minutes where as flip 8gig is 2hrs. Let me know please.
oh ok...yea, if you mainly want to make videos then a dedicated camcorder is probably the way to go. The Canon is still a camera first, so you will be giving up certain things when taking video too (like the ability to refocus after zoom).

the biggest i have is an 8gb Transcend card (class 6).
when i pop the empty 8gig card in the camera, it says i have 43min 19sec of recording time @ 1280x720 (30fps).
It's pretty amazing if that Flip Ultra HD can record @ that same resolution and do 2hrs. Are you sure the Flip is recording at 30 fps too?

@DCPartyKid
Yes the Flip Ultra HD is a 8gig 720p 30fps camcorder.
The memory is built in, no card.
I think the sd780 has a slightly wider frame.
I just bought the Ultra Hd today, so far i love it, lil and compact. :)

Enjoy your new purchase!
