If you end your mine-cart tracks with a powered rail and a stopblock its keeps your cart in place whe you get out if you leave the track unpowered. you can also put a two block high post next to the powered rail with a button on it. this way, when you get in your mine cart, you just have to push the button and it sends you off.

Birch Trees Don't make the big trees with the branches, and the birch tree also give you more wood and you won't get the really short trees that you have to break leaves.

for your mine cart problem, why don't you just use a off power rail (when you get more gold that is) since it act like a brake, and when you get off it wont move it

btw you really need to organize your chests,it might help you prepare your future, i was wandering what happen to your storage room in your basemen you made in episode 42? maybe you need a Depot building (a building for storage or a some kind of garage xD)
