good god, this poem feels completely out of context in this clip. forget about frank o'hara being among the greatest queer artists of the last century, the poem is simply just not about this kind of bullshit fairytale kind of romance. it's awful, this clip makes my stomach turn.
Ridiculous that this poem was writing by a gay man, about a man, and it's being read in this hetero-normative movie...with no mention or inkling that it's taken from a great queer artist.
I've always loved the quote "And the portrait show seemed t have no faces in it at all, just paint. I look at you and I would rather look at you than all of the portraits in the world," and I always wanted to use it. I just can't now that I know it was used in this movie.
