  • Pneumatic starter. 750 psi main tank to a distributor and air lines to each cylinder with check valves. The distributor sends air after TDC to spin the engine for start.

    Works great.

  • Is that an electric starter? WTF was that noise right after "CLEAR"?

  • Ohh Yeah!

  • very sweet sound.... sounded like a harley davidson engine when it starts up

  • Nothing like the sound! You know what I'm talking about.

  • It sounds like it doesn't wanna crank over.

  • True. This engine is fairly small actually at 10Liters (~620 cubic inches). 400hp at 2950rpm, geared down to about 2000 at the prop output shaft. Supercharger spins about 20000rpm and makes just a few psi of boost which is very helpful in mixture distribution. Very strong and reliable engines.

  • Considering that the tech is 50+ yrs old, the engine is somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 L, and it makes 1n excess of 2500HP at less than 2000 RPM, it might sound just a bit different from the tuned Hondas, you're used to.

  • Awesome.

  • LOL.......I dont have a clue about planes...lol...only cars....lol...

  • That sounds stupied........and its sounds funny

  • Don't know much about your history do ya?
