  • this dude is down to earth .

best of luck m8 and ofcourse i'll stick with Nexus

  • So robin how much are you making off all these free mods? Just wondering, must be a lot with six servers on 100mbit+ lines and having payed staff...

  • im still banned and i legit have no clue.

  • @Shinoter187 ive been trying for days to figure out why. but still... 0 reasons as to why im banned.

  • NICE to meet you :D say how DO you pay for this ????

  • Nexus FTW!!! :D Long live the Nexus sites!!! :D

  • I used to make youtube videos before i got shot in the knee with an arrow.

  • I used to make Youtube videos featuring my mods hosted on Tesnexus. But then, I got shot in the knee with an arrow.... Hey, you asked for it 36:02

  • Nexus all the way! I never like steam anyway...

  • Will the Nexus sites be participating in a SOPA protest?

  • I'll stick to Nexus, fuck the Steam Workshop. I usually stick with Steam, but not this time.

  • Your site is amazing thank you so much ;)

  • thanks man

you have great site there .

  • A huge thankyou to Robin and all of your efforts! I have been using the nexus' for years and will continue to do so. Without dedicated (and not so dedicated) gamers, modders and supporters none of us would be here right now! Keep up the good work everyone! And thankyou all!! Big Kudos!

  • I like everything about the site except for the Draconian rules where there's no room for mistakes. That's why I don't post! ;)

  • @NexusSites hey Robin I found your vlog to be very interseting. I am not a hardcore gamer just flipping through some random vlog. The way you conducted yourself was very nice and i learned a lot of new things about Skyrim. So keep up the good work and hopefully you'll do another vlog soon.

    A sincere fan, Jedd Mellin

PS I am sure you get this all the time robin, but i do my own vlog and would love if you could check it out. Thanks, Jedd

  • don't fear the 4chan weird crowd but the dumb reddit one

  • i wonder who disliked this video? was it banned people or just people who dont like one man shows?

  • I'm sorry, but I have a problem here! I'm from Latvia and all Ip addresses were permamently banned because someone DOS attacked you or something like that. I can acces all Nexus sites but FalloutNewVEgas and forums....I wrote 5 letters to you using website form(as suggested) But i got 0 result. Can you pls do something about that? An exception for my Ip adress. Thanks in advance! (i will send you my ip adress if you'll contact me or reply to this post)Thanks once more!

  • @TesGon

    Use a free VPN.

  • @TesGon I am from Latia as well and I can't enter those portals as well.

  • this is great! more :D

  • <--- = Gaius_Ignatius

    Love the site!

  • please get rid of the stupid fucking weaboo mods on the nexus, thanks.

  • I said I had an archive of over 300 nintendo games snes and sega roms. I don't own them anymore. Someone ask is it even illegal to have roms? Someone said no because it's abandon-ware someone said yes it is illegal but only if the copyright is still active.

I said Idk? And followed up by saying oh well I stole them fair and square. I'm a pirate of ancient technology. I was joking. just trying to make light of the conversation and end it.

I don't want to be banned, because I love my community. =(

  • @Darkhartx1 It's an obvious joke. People need to get a sense of humor. Maybe people host some mods on Filestube or another site

  • @Alyzabeth1990 It's not about the mods. I actually care about my community. I'm tired of the pins and needles policy. I got banned for a completely Hypothetical reason without any proof that I had done anything wrong. I was joking. Ironic eh? Vampire Dante takes life a little too seriously.

  • My account is darkhartx1 and I was banned for claiming to have once owned roms of very old games of which most are abandon-ware. It's my first mistake and I wasn't even serious. I didn't even know what I was talking about.

  • HAIL ROBIN !!!! Thnx for those sites man , f*cking awesome !!!!

  • I personally have been trying to find sources to learn how to mod my self. (going to look at the aliance thred you where talking about but would love to see some modder made tools for moding.)

  • I can understand and accept literally all your views if not great thought's and if anything i'm only left with one more question. Seeing as how bethesda (and it's not wrong for them to do by any means don't misunderstand) is planing to direct the mod's for skyrim them selve's what are the chance's of some of the better modder's and tesnexus developing there own modding tool to make moding something more people could do with the right amount of detication and learning. Not sure of the legal

  • cheers Robin!

  • big hi from matoraan :)

  • Great video and lots of helpful ideas about the upcoming update. When I first read it I was concerned about what was going to happen to the nexus but now I'm not. Thank you for all the hard work that you've done. The modding community would not be the same with out the nexus.

*side note: If the damn Nords would just learn to use restoration all of their "arrow in the knee" problems would have been resolved.

  • @MakaveliDaDon777 - I don't get it.

  • Nexus sites Rules!!

About steam and all that, i think is not going to work well, the most epic mods are made using the scrip extender, if not integrated whit the creation kit you can't use it, and don't forget the censure, i love beteshda, but the mods need to be free and open, like skyrim.

    Keep the good job!!

  • 18 people dislike this video becouse they got shot in the knee while watching it

  • I don't think this video needed to be so long. Perhaps write down your thoughts and practice what your going to say a little then express your thoughts. Not to the word of course and also some of the best videos regarding games and gaming are simply two or more people discussing it. Just something to think about.

  • Rob, my man, I support you and your work regardless of what valve and bethesda do, I am behind you all the way.

  • Im a big fan of Nexus, It's the best community of it s kind, been here since the release of FO3. Been a fan of it since then and just wanted to say all you guys do a fantastic job and regardless of what Bethesda and Steam do I will still remain with Nexus, I dont see that changing.

Ps .Robin, dude! Can you ever talk, I mean like wow...that was like a marathon ;P

with that said Good Video Rob, need more of them in the future.

1 thing, these text boxes, would be nice if they held more characters

  • 17 people missed Robins knee and hit the dislike button

  • Nice video, big fan of Nexus. Just a small advise to maybe shorten the video to 10 mins, you have to consider the short attention spam from gamers lol. FLashy shows made life boring. Nonetheless, good job, keep it up please.

  • What is that site name for modders?

  • He has a fireplace in his bedroom, your argument is invalid.

  • keep up the AMAZING job Robin, hope the Nexus stays up and running for another 10 thousand years :D

and dont mind the trolls, theyre just hating, and u know, haters gonna hate

keep it up, and if u have the time, do more of these ''vlogs'', videos, rants, whatever :D

  • Yea I was banned from the chat for saying "poop" to be funny while testing the chatbox which doesn't work well with google chrome and ccouldnt see my own text because the scroll is broken. Anyway, what im tryint to say is i dont take it personally. Strict Mods > No rules

  • @NeoxideMolten Poop? That's fucking retarded. Poop is said in G-rated movies and kid's shows

  • Used Nexus since DAO and DA2, loved all the work done by the modders. I dont leave enough thanks than I should and will try to do so in future. I never used mods on Oblivion otherwise would have found Nexus sooner. Thank You Nexus you extend the life of games and give us the oportunity to make the games more personal.

  • Thanks for the brief summation of the current state of affairs. Its great to hear it from an unbiased source for a change. Oh and thanks for all the Nexus sites, they're great.

Bought Skyrim on day one but have only played it for a few hours, will wait a few more weeks for the mods to finalize then enjoy it as it was meant to be, in HD.

  • @NassimHarameinVedas Do you even realize what youre saying? Enjoying a game as it was meant to be, and enjoying a game heavily modded is not same.

  • I use to be a comment just like these but then I took a period to the sentence. ;_;

  • Sorry to keep posting. ONE SUGGESTION - I have wanted to donate for some time but I am one of the people that have cancelled my paypal account. Since they moved more of the operation to their call centre in India they have been even more unpleasant to deal with so I dropped them personally, and from the business. Could you add some payment options for those of us which loathe paypal?. I would even send you a cheque or make a direct bank transfer rather than use paypal.

  • With regards to adult mods. I dont use them, but I dont care they are there. Maybe to add realism. I dont think the world needs yet more censorship though. You have an adult filter on the site. I dont see that people have cause for complaint. People will watch people being murdered in real life in full hd widescreen format but get upster because a barmaid wears a revealing dress in a game. Properly the worst reflection on their own morality rather than gaming, the site or a mod.

  • Great job Robin and co. The PC gaming community owes you gratitude for your excellent working in promoting modding. In fact, Bethesda owes you too for turning an ok console port in to another good game. When the creation kit is released, this could be a legendary game with full support from the modding community.

  • @Essefen has been gotten to

  • @loltesnexus

You seriously need to get a life, thank God the Nexus Admins banned your ass, you obviously have nothing positive to contribute to any of these sites or to life itself for that matter.

  • Removed all the silly trololol comments from the same user. It takes me 10 seconds to remove all your posts, it takes you a lot longer to make new accounts and write them. Get a clue and give it a rest.

And lastly, $10 - $150 per server? Go to dell.com, build the most powerful server (not computer, server) you can, then add a 100mbit bandwidth pipe from cogent to that bill and let me know your total. If you can find me that for $10 I will pay you $100,000 ;)

  • @NexusSites For what its worth, you dont even need to respond to clowns with ridiculous comments like that. You have 10 years of good will from millions and millions of people behind you V's one ignorant bad apple. Make some more videos when you can. Its nice to get updates this way. ps.. get some sleep mate, you look shattered.

  • @imortalsaga1 the last one was if you'd rather not get your hands dirty.

  • @imortalsaga1 do what Robin says, go to dell.com and build a server. you'll find them under "enterprise" your links are shall we say, vastly underpowered, for what he needs.

  • @merlinfromberlin37 well i didn't know just figured i'd throw them out there

  • @imortalsaga1 i wasn't trying to be insulting and DEFINENTLY wasn't agreeing with the other guy

  • @NexusSites hello sir please help me, my Internet speed 5 mpbs, and im having problems with Skyrim nexus my download speed is 10-8 BITES only

please help me sir :( can't download any mods.

  • @NexusSites I do not like steam and your site is the best! Thanks for creating it :-)

  • @loltesnexus

Robin deserves every cent that hes made off of the Nexus sites, theyre a great place where everyone benefits when someone freely offers their work. Its a very unique kind of setup, where the mod authors realize that by providing their mods, the community gets better and they can, in turn, download more quality mods from other people. I, for one, plan to continue using the Nexus for mods despite the Steam integration. Id much rather put my trust in the nexus than in Bathesda

  • @jtim2 I could not agree more.

  • @jtim2 That's pretty funny

  • @jtim2 You take time out of your day to insult Bethesda, the very same company solely responsible for bringing you the series you love modding, as well as the ability to mod that same series.

If you want to insult Bethesda, that's fine, but if you don't want to look like a complete hypocrite, don't play their games while you do it.

  • @loltesnexus I'm going to go ahead and feed you, Troll... Good thing Legendary Mod Creators have something called "donations", right? They are not doing their work with the sole purpose of earning money, as well, they mostly want recognition and the Nexus is the perfect place to promote their work. The moar you know... ;)

  • @loltesnexus Quit being a tool mate. I'm one of the modders that you think this guy is ripping off, so I reckon I have a fair bloody say as to what I think about this bloke. Without him it wouldn't be as easy for us to distribute out stuff. He doesn't exactly look like he's rolling in it, does he? He's done a damn good thing by keeping this sites up and running.

  • @loltesnexus Are you about finished, 'loltesnexus'?

    Obvious troll is obvious.

  • Awesome to see the man behind the nexus.

  • Nice to meet you in person :)

Never liked Steam and never will (2x times install and 4x time fixing a problem in games "Dead Island NE1")

I for one a nexus fan and always be; being free to DL and free to customize the game is what I like, I really appreciate all the modders out there and thank you Dark0ne for your nice video. :)

  • "Unable to download mod"

    FIX THIS, PLOX!

  • I used to be modder, then I took an arrow in the knee...

  • even if the steam workshop comes in, I'll still gonna use nexus site to dl mods, i dont use steam rly

  • It's awesome to hear from the guy runnin the site himself what's goin on.

Great vid DarkOne, hope you make another one! Though, a series of shorter vids would also be appreciated... lol

  • I think the nexus is pretty good. Its the best way and the most useful way to get mods for all the Bethesda games.

  • You are the biggest, overly sensitive, loser nazi site admin in the history of the internet. You and your gutless, power tripping moderators do nothing but treat your users like shit and ban people for the most harmless of comments.

Eat shit and die you pedeophile protecting loser [Just search for the sex and child killing mods on the nexus to see what I mean]

  • @Essefen Seems like you're just sour about getting banned. qq

  • Just wanted to say I really appreciate all the modders out there!

I'd make my own mods, but I took an arrow in the knee.

  • I should of been an adventurer like you, instead of a farmer.

  • He use to go to school, but then he had to go ahead and ban me from the website :D

Not an arrow to the knee!

  • Good information. Keep it up!

And Long Live The Nexus! (who cares about Steam Workshop anyway???)

  • I've been on YT since the day it launched, and I've never asked for a thumbs, but please this once. Thumb this up, so Robin can see.

Robin, we all greatly appreciate your work, and regardless what direction Bethesda and Valve go, you have our support. Also I think it would be great if you continued to vlog like this, it's nice to get insight into the inner workings, what you do, how it's accomplished, etc etc.

Thanks again, good video, and well done with Nexus. I can't imagine it not existing.

  • @HypnoticSuggestion Thats all.. your comment wasnt helpful at all why would i want to thumbs it up... loser.. its a game...

  • Very informative thanks for the update.

  • how did people come to the nexus sites when you made it?? did you do some type of internet flyer or add??

  • The support nd the people's involvment in this community is The best.Thank you nd to everybody who made this possible.

  • wow not a single "took an arrow through the knee" meme... is it because He wanted one that makes it taboo?

  • r u going to make more vids in youtube like a weakly news or some thing?

  • 12 people disliked this video by mistake. They got shot in the knee with an arrow and hit the wrong button

  • Dude! i have the same chair as you lol

  • @Th3Apollo7 You know what I think we both have the same chair as him.

  • I rather enjoyed this video and I appreciate you uploading it.

I totally empathize with you about internet drama, which is why I've completely excluded myself from pretty much every modding community out there. I still make stuff, support modders, and release my own stuff, but I stay off forums and the like unless I have to.

I've met some really great guys in different communities, but I've met far more assholes. I'll just stick to the shadows and avoid the drama.

  • Thanks for the Nexus sites, Robin ! Before Nexus, it was a pain to get/find mods all in one place. It's very much appreciated. :)

  • Thanks for sharing mate. Good insight.

  • I feel like people will need to read the Terms and Agreements of Steam Work Shop. Also great job, I actually sat here and listened for the entire video in one sitting.

  • @felix3322 i played the video and started skyrim with the sound low lol

  • @graychipmonk That is a good idea. I used to do that with Oblivion and Fallout with Pod casts or Think Take videos.

  • I'm fine with the implementation of steamworks, but regarding what was mentioned in the video about taking mods and putting them on the consoles possibly for a bit of money; people uploading mods to steamworks should be careful not to agree to anything saying bethesda or steam claims ownership of your mod, cause then they could do whatever they want, sell it for $2, and you wouldn't get anything for all your hard work.

  • Great job with the video blog! Thanks so much for the Nexus, it has been my favourite site for a few years now. It is truly a treasure with respect to its massive but well organised content. It made waiting for Skyrim bearable, now to mod Skyrim :D xtine

  • holly nexus sites batman I've been shot in the knee with an arrow down by the river.

  • jesus man its long >.<

  • where the heck's all the CHIM at?

  • Man, you are a GOD to me.

  • Hey there! I love your web-site. It's been so useful. Though I often have problems entering some nexus sites. Currently I can't get in Dungeon Defenders and New Vegas and Forums sites because I always get timed out.

  • you did an awesome job for your first time mate.

  • Getting IP banned from this site for saying hurr durr in chat.

    Hurr durr.

  • moding kind of reminds me of the matrix. and you know that part in the matrix where neo meets the creater of the matrix or whatever and hes sittin in a chair in that white room talking forever about the matrix, thats kind of how like this is. i really dont understand everything he talkin about, but i really do appriciate this program hes created. i just say thank you sir for everything

  • Thanks a tonne for the years of upholding such an amazing modding community and for uploading this informative vlog. Really excited to watch the nexus grow off of Skyrim!

  • I can't leave the Nexus, it's been my go-to mod source for so many years. I'm sorry Bethesda and Steam, but you should really have offered to work with Robin instead of charging ahead with your own mod manager. On the other hand, console users may find this useful, until it cost three dollars for Midas Magic and ninety-nine cents for Archive Invalidation.

  • I honestly can't see Bethesda accepting mods from the community as good enough for their standards - especially with big mods like Lost Spires etc. - they would have to put voice acting in and stuff. It's okay for us PC lot we don't care, but for the console kids it's a different story - I think this whole Steamworks project is going to end in tears...

  • You're sexy.

  • Nice to hear from you on the state of things.

  • I was going to listen to all 37 minutes of this awesome video, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Thanks a lot, this was very interesting to listen to.

  • Great info. Please do it again sometime.

  • lol yuuurop

  • keep these up its good and because im to lazy to check forums i can just watch this- while playing skyrim

  • Dark0ne if I buy you a new webcam can you upload better quality? 360p is hurting my eyes

  • @RollinJoints Your kidding right? It hurts your eyes? lol

  • 8 people disliked this video, because they were shot with an arrow in the knee, your welcome.

  • You and your websites are legends.

  • Even if that isn't what Bethesda is planning to do, I definitely think that they should consider this.

I think trying to get the big mods (Deadly Reflex, Lost spires, etc, all the big ones we enjoyed in Oblivion) onto consoles would be wonderful, and very doable. However, I am very, very skeptical as to how having all mods created in this steam workshop thing would work. It requires too much personal effort to keep a lot of mods running smoothly.

    My two cents. *shrugs*

  • I've also been thinking about whether or not the mods on Steam Workshop will have a price tag.

If they decide that some mods, on PC at least, will require a purchase then I think that people will rather just pirate them. I'm certainly not going to pay for any mods, unless they are really REALLY good (like for example a Cyrodiil/Morrowind import since the entire continent of Tamriel is actually in the game, the whole damn thing).

  • btw i love your nmm i am a lazy mod user. but am hoping to jump into modding when CK comes out. hopefully I will be posting some of my mods to your sight. keep up the awesome work

  • i think the way to make the site better is when you're browsing, allow us to search with the option of a category (ie user interface or retexturing)

  • he strips at 19:49

  • @Xawk4 Yum. lol

  • @Xawk4 So hawt.

  • @Xawk4 HE IS SO SEXY :0

  • Can i ask, is it because of the lack of mods that so many retextures are in the custom weapons/armor categories?

  • @ANDELE3025 Lack of modding tools

  • @wreckbot I wasn't asking that, there are 3 categories about items (weapons, armor and sets), but somehow they are full or re-texturing that has its own categorie...

  • 7 people dont like this,...because they took an arrow in the knee...i wonder when it will become 8, like Robin predicted.

  • @DemonFoxDeity There it is. ^_^ 8 dislikes mate. :D

  • I have a few suggestions. The browsing of files could be better on the websites. Thumbnails could be added to the lists of files that are available for download. Categories aswell. This would make it easier for everyone to browse the files.

  • It's nice too see the man behind my favorite site on the internet, thank you for everything you are awesome :)

  • has any one noticed he sits like the jarls in skyrim

  • @tino007vt

Thats because his real name is Beowulf.

  • @tino007vt Cuz he's a boss

  • I'm loyal to the nexus forever :)

  • You're a good man who has brought happiness to everyone who is a fan of Bethesda games. Just extending my thanks

  • i love your site :D

  • revelationsnexus...?

  • Great blog. The Nexus Sites are totally awesome. Thanks for everything you do. It will be interesting to see what Beth/Valve do. I'll start modding Skyrim shortly. Anyway, you are a very interesting person to listen to, also. Upload more videos.

  • You can use steam Skymods or send the mods to off site mods... whatever win / win!!

  • Brilliant sites you guys have over at nexus, i've lurked for a good 3-4 years now for TES and now Skyrim, just saying hi and congratz on 10 years, here is for another 10.. and beyond :)

  • @tenetke Banned for discussing running the game on another OS? That's ridiculous. I've been banned once for uploading "adult" images. The images had no nudity and no adult themes. I suppose it's too much to expect the Nexus websites to stay consistent. The moderators themselves should be made to follow some standard etiquette if I'm expected to actually respect his website. The modders and users on the Nexus sites are wonderful, but the management isn't.

  • @Archaisms He obviously didn't get banned for running the game on another operation System. He probably said he has the game on MAC, and none of the Nexus games work on MAC, it would require cracking/hacking to do that, which isn't allowed on the Nexus.

  • I've been using your site since 2006, love it and will always be loyal to it!

  • Also, the Mod content isn't as big a deal to Steam (referring to the kids dying/nudity) as the possible loss of control over a revenue stream. As long as your not involved in child porn or something the people who pay to use the site - like myself - are the ones entitled to an opinion. You said it yourself, Nexus takes care of its own. And the world is full of trolls who can do this or that better than you. Let them try it. And do your best to keep a straight face when they stumble...

  • Nice to meet you. I really think the site improvements are excellent. As for Steam, it doesn't appear to me that your site and Steam are going to be doing the same things, and certainly Steam won't offer the same degree of diversity. I also think Mods that break the game concern them. In the end the place that makes the best mods the easiest to use and maintain will get the business, and on Steam Skyrim is just another game among thousands. GOOD WORK! And congratulations on a top flight site.

  • I once took an arrow in the elbow, does that count?

  • Yes nexus is from reading! So proud.

  • <3

  • I think they could charge a few for some of the software they develop and tutorials they make, I think it would be kind of interesting to see them know that the community helps them out a little bit in exchange for software.

  • Thanks for introducing yourself to the community! To be honest I think it's much easier than typing a bunch of words on forums and it's a lot faster. It's much easier to understand all the stuff you are going through with the website, I don't really read the forums much because I am busy thinking of ideas for some mods. Good to hear from you and thanks.

  • A whole lot of content, always great to hear, especially your views on it in a video where it gets out there a lot more easily. Keep up the good work Robin

  • Gogo Robin :) Much support bro.

  • do more it was very good continue doing it its very informative you should try doing one once every so often so we can stay informed and u dont have to type it all but good job

  • (Continued from previous comment) - As such, do not start assuming Bethesda is trying to steal the Nexus' claim to fame as the #1 modding site out there. One thing I still fail to understand is the fact that so many people will love a game and embrace it, but then compare the creators of such a game to imperialists who want to take over their modding experience. Were it not for Bethesda, mods would not be possible, so at least do some original thinking before looking a gift horse in the mouth.
