I was thinking of picking up a stick and throttle setup, and this will be the first ever stick and throttle I have gotten, would you recommend the X52?
I need a joystick for bfbc2 and was wondering what is the best one i just wanted the joystick and nothing like this setup so which one has the best of everything???
I bought this, but just the throttle works, not the joystick. I have been downloaded the last drivers from saitek website, but this shit still doesn't works, any help? (windows xp 32bits)
i was just looking at it on the official site (atleast, i think it was =P) and it said some of the need the internet for installation. my internet sucks (honestly, i get like 1mp per 1.5mins and it goes out half the time) and was just woundering if this one needs it aswell? and also would it work for BattleField2?
@neveneffect1 but i dont absolutely need internet for setup? just caus last time i bought somthing that needed itnernet it wont work now, and i never got it to work. i put disc in and it says "extended past the blob"
@TheRandomHope No, you don't need internet for this. I have no internet op de pc on which I have installed Hawx and it works perfectly (except for the joystick; but that has nothing to do with the internet):)
This is hawks 1, correct? and do you think this game would run good on a Dell Inspiron1545 with 4GB RAM, a Pentium Dual core CPU @ 2.10GHZ and FSX currently downloaded? i get about 20FPS in FSX right now.
What did you map the thrust/brake and rudder controls to?
I use the X52 also and I'm really disapointed that the thust-lever doesn't work in the game, I had to put it to one side out of the way and use the keyboard with my left-hand for those which isn't as intuative as I'd hoped. Any suggestions since you seem to be doing really well!
@captainlenon The game is called "Hawx". Its by ubisoft and is widely available in most game shops and ALL online game shops :) It was a big game when it was launched!
does the plane only elevate when you put the joystick fully forward/back/side, or can the nose go up (example) 1 cm on the screen when the joystick moves down approx 1 cm?
@DiegoBrSilva I agree but thing is - It never set out to be a Flight Sim or realistic - It set out to be a arcade fun flying game for all to play and enjoy (well maybe apart from hardcore flight simmers :P)
I noticed with your joystick there is a bit of a delay from when u move it and when the aircraft turns. This happens with me too, any way to fix this? Its really annoying. Oh and also how do you know when assistance mode is turned off? I can never tell.
Yeah there is a bit of a "deadzone" in the center of the joystick that when you move it, the game dosent register the movement. Didn't find how to fix it.
Also, for assistance off mode - You press the button then when it switches to the 3rd person cinematic camera view - thats assistance off :)
while you are turning the plane take throttle back to idle so that it nearly stalls and the plane gets more maneuverable.you have to work a lot with the throttle so that the plane does not stall or gets too fast.
i use the x52 pro and its perfect, very responsive and the stick moves perfect to the center after turns.
Cool thanks very much for your comments :) If you enjoyed this video, why not consider subscribing - I've got another joystick video coming tomorrow - we shot it today!
Aah, looks like a fun game for the x52, I've played a lot of IL2/LOMAC in my time but it eventually gets tedious. People say they don't like the 'arcady' type flightsims but this looks like wickedsick fun and a nice change from the 'realism' flightsims. Thanks for the upload, nice work!
The stick its self is actually very responsive and accurate - its just in the demo of this game, there is quite a big dead zone around the center of the joystick. This has been fixed for the full game of Hawx, and was an issue for all joysticks. On Flight Simulator X for example, the stick is incredibly precise for flying prop planes or jets.
Well I do find off mode very usefull in tight situation. like coming agaisnt the SU-47 in the demo. those plane are very good and getting behind their tail even harder
yeah, I know what your mean. But I sometimes find it hard to see which way my jet is facing, so I think I'm turning one way, when I'm actually facing the opposite direction :P
Yeah funny you should say that mate - I've been hearing that a lot around the Hawx communities. I think the Dev's did actually take inspiration from ace combat in the making of Hawx. Interesting stuff :)
Thanks man :) If you like my videos, please do subscribe! I've got Hawx on pre-order, so when it comes out - I'll be doing a review on it. If ya wanna see it when I review it, please subscribe!
