I just tryes to do this and I couldn't I don't know why I have a first gen iPod touch and the 3.0 softwear but when I try to do it it goes to my first page of apps and has the slide to powwer off thing but when I hit cancel the bottom gray part in my home screen is still there

he's doing this on purpose! It's not a forced command from some virus or something. You press the home button and then slide. BTW, the only phone that matches the iphone is the pre and the n97. Nothing else.

id get rid of all of my apps, putall the homescreen stuff on the first page, then do the glitch. Then you'll have absolutely nothing on your iphone, bring it into an Apple Store, show them, and they'll have to give you a new one.
