The reason that they didn't release the game as its own multiplayer is because people would only play this for around a year because of the release of Halo 4 in the near future. Since everyone has already put there time into Reach they wanted to incorporate this into it.

For someone in your position actual research should be taken before you say things, this had no multiplayer other than co op because the game was created to give players a feel of the classic halo ce with modern day graphics. Also the money it would cost to implement a live multiplayer would draw funds away from the development of Halo 4

@demetri0s1 That is incorrect, the engine for Halo: CEA wasn't built for multiplayer. The entire game would have had to been completely remade from scratch (including the engine). So in other words if they did that it would have taken at least a year to remake the game WITH the good graphics, the same gameplay, and multiplayer servers. It isn't worth their time, and some people might not have liked it as much because of the fact that everything in CE was so overpowered anyways.

The reason they didn't bring back the original Halo 1 multiplayer is because it would lag like shit with the double engines. If u try co-op on campaign it's laggy like hell, so imagine that, but with 16 players instead of 2. :/ it'll be impossible to play.

@ToxicatedLum Halo Anniversary has 2 engines, the original Halo 1 engine, with the original graphics, that's one whole engine. Then there's the brand new graphic's engine over the original, so technically it's 2 graphics engine but having the new graphics engine causes lag as the new graphics is running over the old graphics which is how u can switch between New and Old. Research these things first before u call ppl noobs.

Although the updated graphics are of course much better, they're not actually that good at all when you look at the finer detail of things. Plus, I think they're far to bright, and I think you lose some of the 'atmosphere' of the campaign because of that. When you switch back to classic mode, it's just so much darker a lot of the time, I think they should have kept that darkness to be honest.

It's kinda dumb how people, especially the commentator, think that great graphics make a great game. Take a look at Battlefield. BF3 has close to "realistic" graphics, but there is so much shit in it. MW3 is a polished MW2 so I don't have to explain that. Skyrim has amazing graphics compared to other Elder Scrolls, but it's no Morrowind.

Halo: CE was the best Xbox game I have ever played. Having upgraded graphics is good, but it's not the game. It disappoints me that gamers look for graphics.

No, they didn't add the multiplayer of Halo: CE because it would lag like crazy, they didn't want to split the player base, and they didn't have enough time to do so. The original Halo didn't have much (if any) netcode, and trying to create some for it would have taken quite a while.. If you want to play CE online, get it for the PC.

Halo Reach was flawed, but was better than Halo 3. Im sorry, but to me in all ways Reach was massively better than Halo 3 ever was and could ever hope to be. An unstable fan base and the migration to Call of Duty was Halo Reach's downfall. On day one, so much joyous fun was being had, but when the excitement died down, people weren't ready for a new Halo. Even though 343 is made of Bungie leftovers, it will never be the original the one and only. R.I.P. Halo by Bungie.
