BMW's are proper rwd based architecture which means short front overhang, 50/50 weight distribution for maximum neutral handling around corners. audi is nothing but overpriced VW junk! Don't even compare w/ BMW. It takes skill to drive rwd vehicle fast around the track while any women can drive fast in electronically assisted awd audi
you have no idea what your talking about, have you ever seen an audi drive train? the design is different from most awd setups, the only real weight gain on the front end is from the front axles and that's it, look up the audi quattro transmission vid here on youtube and youll see why the weight distibution is about the same with the benefit of having the front wheels pull through turns, btw try driving a 500hp 95 mustang gt and be able to handle well in turns, thats a challenge i take up daily

Also in new A4 VW invested billions of dollars moving front axle rearward giving it more rear wheel drive proportion and better weight distribution. What does all this mean? Audi is copying BMW core DNA in order give more rear wheel drive dynamic feel into their vehicle.
well "kid" i just sold 3 beamers in the last week, i have a 94 audi 90 quattro and a 325 i as well as a 95 mustang gt and a 69 mach 1, that is a dynamic combination and ive driven all of them to their limits. as i am a mechanic that runs a shop/dealership, out of experience i can tell you their is really nothing special about bmw, as far as handing audi will have the upper hand due to awd period, and the balance is not as far off as you think.

my mustang does better than the 325i and thats a torque monster, take into consideration, you want traction in a grip race right? 4 powered wheels would provide that traction wouldn't it? take a bmw in a pull test hooked up to the back of a awd audi or subaru, mitsubishi whatever, 4 pulling wheels will win against two.
@nxmoparmatt84 AWD also adds a lot of weight, so it evens itself out, and usually gets worse gas mileage. I highly doubt your mustang does better in the snow then a BMW unless your tires are better on the mustang. BMW are very well balanced, while mustang not most certainly not.
Not "quite" the M3... is a understatement.. 325i is no where near an M3. It is so weak that BMW USA don't even offer that as an option. the smallest E9X 3 series in the US is 328i.

Audi is selectable 4WD but guess what that means you noob? It is based on fwd architecture, which means it is front heavy, long front overhang=TORQUE STEERING. BMW's are proper rwd based architecture which means short front overhang, 50/50 weight distribution for maximum neutral handling around corners. audi is nothing but overpriced VW junk! Don't even compare w/ BMW. It takes skill to drive rwd vehicle fast around the track while any women can drive fast in electronically assisted awd audi

you have no idea what your talking about, have you ever seen an audi drive train? the design is different from most awd setups, the only real weight gain on the front end is from the front axles and that's it, look up the audi quattro transmission vid here on youtube and youll see why the weight distibution is about the same with the benefit of having the front wheels pull through turns, btw try driving a 500hp 95 mustang gt and be able to handle well in turns, thats a challenge i take up daily

u obviously is a kid who never even driven anything close to BMW. Audi recently introduced 40:60 rear bias torque split to their vehicles in 2006. Also in new A4 VW invested billions of dollars moving front axle rearward giving it more rear wheel drive proportion and better weight distribution. What does all this mean? Audi is copying BMW core DNA in order give more rear wheel drive dynamic feel into their vehicle.

well "kid" i just sold 3 beamers in the last week, i have a 94 audi 90 quattro and a 325 i as well as a 95 mustang gt and a 69 mach 1, that is a dynamic combination and ive driven all of them to their limits. as i am a mechanic that runs a shop/dealership, out of experience i can tell you their is really nothing special about bmw, as far as handing audi will have the upper hand due to awd period, and the balance is not as far off as you think.

If you think you can't make AWD out of RWD platform, what do you call BMW 335xi or Merc 4matic or Infiniti G35X? All these cars I have mentioned have far more superior balance compare with Audi A4 quattro which is based on Volkswagen Front wheel drive architecture. Go look up what "dash to axle" is.

umm lets see, with just a simple rwd setup there is more a chance of understeer than a awd vehicle, with all wheel drive the front wheels assist in pulling the front of the vehicle in the desired direction, try taking a beamer in snow or ice at full throttle and see where that gets you.

nxmoparmatt first of all ur missing the whole point of this video, clearly it is not about traction test in wet snow. 2nd you have no idea what the hell ur talking about. my bimmer is capable of driving perfectly fine w/ dedicated snow tires(staggered wheels 18s)in snow storm, even better than my company car 2010 german spec audi A4 3.2quattro w/ all season tires. I live in a place where there's 30+ incline hills and not even once bmw failed on me w/ good snow tires. i talk experience, u talk bs

no bmw would be able to handle like a awd audi in snow or ice even with snow tires, a m3 couldn't even beat a old audi s1 turbo 20v, that thing eats bmw's alive in turns and in the straights, on any road. im not kidding bud these are the facts.

@nxmoparmatt84- Actually I got some winter tires on my 335i and it works great....I will put money on that those that have a M3 dont drive it in the winter. Or they live somewhere warm enough to drive it in the winter and not have to worry about snow. Your comments aren't address anything that makes sense.

i told you previously that i have a 325i, not quite the m3 but still not on par with the audi i have, and yes i know a bmw would not do as well in the winter, i tried to go up kneeland hill here in snow tires in the 325i and it couldnt do it, i then took the audi in all seasons and it didnt have a problem.

my mustang does better than the 325i and thats a torque monster, take into consideration, you want traction in a grip race right? 4 powered wheels would provide that traction wouldn't it? take a bmw in a pull test hooked up to the back of a awd audi or subaru, mitsubishi whatever, 4 pulling wheels will win against two.

@nxmoparmatt84 AWD also adds a lot of weight, so it evens itself out, and usually gets worse gas mileage. I highly doubt your mustang does better in the snow then a BMW unless your tires are better on the mustang. BMW are very well balanced, while mustang not most certainly not.

Not "quite" the M3... is a understatement.. 325i is no where near an M3. It is so weak that BMW USA don't even offer that as an option. the smallest E9X 3 series in the US is 328i.

im not sure about the balance but it might be wheel size on the mustang, the gt mustangs have great suspensions even though their solid rear axle, as far as weight for the awd thier not that bad, my audi only weighs about 200 pounds more in the center than my 325i
